Im just here to wish everyone, who keeps the sabbath or not, Shabbat Shalom en Yeshua Hamashiya el Adonai!
I dont care if ppl celebrate it or not as long as no one starts telling another how sinful they are for (not) keeping it.
Beta, I saw some cool verses on Sabbath and fasting in Isaiah.
Is 56
Happy is the man who does this,
and the son of humankind who keeps hold of it,
who keeps the Sabbath so as not to profane it,
and who keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

And the foreigners who join themselves to Yahweh to serve him
and to love the name of Yahweh, to become his servants,
every one who keeps the Sabbath, so as not to profane it,
and those who keep hold of my covenant,
I will bring them to my holy mountain;
I will make them merry in my house of prayer.
Isaiah 58
If you hold your foot back from the Sabbath,
from doing your affairs on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a pleasure,
the holy day of Yahweh honorable,
if you honor him more than doing your ways,
than finding your affairs and speaking a word,
then you shall take your pleasure in Yahweh,
and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth,

Fasting Is 58
Is this not the fast I choose: to release the bonds of injustice,
to untie the ropes of the yoke,
and to let the oppressed go free,
and tear every yoke to pieces?
Is it not to break your bread for the hungry?
You must bring home the poor, the homeless.
When you see the naked, you must cover him,
and you must not hide yourself from your relatives.
Then your light shall break forth like the dawn,
and your healing shall grow quickly.
And your salvation shall go before you;
the glory of Yahweh will be your rear guard.

( theyre not to stirr or insult. I just thought their interesting. I was reading Isaiah on the way to college and I was pretty fascinated by bunches of verses)

Show me where I said I was rejecting anything, beta! Quit being a troublemaker by reading things that aren't there. That garbage really ticks me off! I pity any young Christian that's under your incorrect guidance.
Pleased you are not rejecting anything God says....
Happy Sabbath to you !

Kinda neat to see God had more than one cookie cutter when he made worshippers. As long as you see it not a requirement for salvation ...rest on.
Btw I like the new commercials for Canada dry ginger ale where they say to rest harder.

God made the Sabbath for man not men for the Sabbath.....wonder how many people understand what that means.

God wants us to rest at least one day a week because He knows we need it. However he doesn't want people to be enslaved to Sabbath rule keeping and causing people to feel condemned for not keeping man made rules and rituals concerning the Sabbath.

God looks at the heart and not outward actions.

Seems to me not many fully understand what Sabbath is all about. It is not just a day of rest but also of 'learning. In Lev 23 Israel was commanded to ''assemble before the Lord' on HIS holy days, including the Sabbath for the purpose of hearing His instructions and teaching.
When we have GOD in charge of an assembly you are sure to hear the truth....a far cry from 'self-appointed Ministers today. God has a sure way of dealing with people who do not speak the truth in His presence.
The sooner christians get away from the idea of 'resting and taking it easy the better....they might learn something.

Sowwy but for me Sabbath is sleepday. Yea the bible says to do good works and rest (as ive posted) but I can tell ya that I can barely pick myself up on the sabbath XD Our bodies are created that they need a day of rest. Now in the OT the thing was that the slaves did the work so no one had a excuse to not do something good on the sabbath. So I think it depends on the persons situation and energy level :p
(my opinion)

Now in the OT the thing was that the slaves did the work
so no one had a excuse to not do something good on the sabbath
He said,“n it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant,
nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates” (Exodus 20:10).

Every human being was required to rest on the Sabbath day— men, women, children, kings,
servants and even visitors (strangers) and animals.

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

Notice which day Paul and Barnabas used for preaching to Gentiles:

1) Acts 13:14-15, 42-44: “But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia,
and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down. And after the reading of the law
and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren,

if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.”
Then Paul stood up, and spoke, preaching Christ to them.

“And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, [the Gentiles besought]
that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.”

Now since Paul was preaching “the grace of God” (verse 43),
here was his opportunity to straighten out these Gentiles,
and explain that the Sabbath was done away.

Why should he wait a whole week, in order to preach to the Gentiles
on the next Sabbath? If the day had now been changed to Sunday,
why did not Paul tell them they would not have to wait a week, but
the very next day, Sunday, was the proper day for this service?

But notice what Paul did.

“And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.”

Here Paul waited a whole week, passing up a Sunday,
in order to preach to the Gentiles that besought teaching, on the Sabbath day.

“For by him [Christ] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth,
visible andinvisible …. And he is the head of the body, the church …”(Colossians 1:16, 18).

the Sabbath was made by Jesus Christ , and He said plainly that He is Lord also
of the Sabbath! (Mark 2:28).

It was made for mankind, not just for the jews but[ all flesh] even animals[creation].

On the seventh day He MADE THE SABBATH! But the Sabbath was made, not by work,
but by rest. What He ended on the seventh day was the work of creation—that which was
created by work! On the seventh day He rested! He created the Sabbath by resting.

Was He so fatigued He was forced to stop and rest?
Positively not, for God “fainteth not, neither is weary”! (Isaiah 40:28).

Yet, this was a real rest, because in Exodus 31:17 it is written: “…
in six days the Lord [Christ] made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested,
and was refreshed.” Since He was “refreshed” by this rest, it was a real rest.

Yet He was not tired or weary! Why did He rest? To put His divine presence in that day!
He made the Sabbath day by resting, whereas He had made all other things by working!

Notice further! Also He “blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it”!
What does “sanctified” mean? Look in your dictionary.
It means “set apart, for holy use or purpose.” He set apart this day
from other days—set it apart for holy use—for a day of physical
rest, in which His people may assemble and worship God!

Therefore what God did—and God did it by Christ—
was to make future TIME holy!

No man has power to make anything holy. God alone is holy—or whatever God has
made holy! No group or organization of men has authority to make future time holy!

“[T]he [ETERNAL] hath given you the Sabbath.” Nowhere in all God’s Word
can you find any statement that “The Eternal hath given you Sunday.”

Gods presence is Holy

“Moses! Moses!” called God, “… put off thy shoes from off thy feet,
for the place whereon thou standest is HOLY GROUND” (Exodus 3:2-5).

The ground a mile away was not holy. Why did it make any difference whether Moses
took off his shoes—or where? Here is why! The ground where he then stood was holy .
He was required, by God, to treat holy ground with a respect he did not treat other ground.

And why? Well, what made that particular bit of ground holy?
God’s very presence was in that ground! God is holy !
God’s presence in that bush made the ground around it holy!

In the very same manner, God’s presence is in His Sabbath.
He rested on that first Sabbath to put His presence in that day!

This made it holy time! Four thousand years later, when this same “Logos,” or “Word,”
was made flesh—when He came as Jesus Christ in the human flesh—
He was still putting His presence in that same weekly recurring Sabbath—

He went into the synagogues as His custom was!

Perhaps no one has explained to you nor have you read the scriptures telling us that the Sabbath is 'the Lord's day' and not the Jews ? Lev 23v3. It was made for MAN....not any specific nation, denomination or country but for men/women everywhere.
What is practiced by most congregations is not necessarily the truth...most follow a 'herd instinct.
Don't you know that the MANY are on the road to destruction....majority does not count with God....Truth does !
Why would people fight against it when Jesus Himself kept it....not just because He was a Jew but because He always did what pleased His Father. Why would we not want to follow in His steps ???
So almost every Christian who has belonged to a congregation for the past 2000 years has been on the road to destruction.
It seems from your argument that forming a church was a waste of time as far as Christ was concerned. He may as well stuck to the old covenant. Have you heard of the Holy Spirit? Do you think that he has waited all these centuries to tell people which day to worship? The truth is that Paul dealt with Judaisers in his day and now they rear their ugly heads up yet again. The Lords day is nothing to do with the Jewish Sabbath it is a different separate day of worship that celebrates the resurrection of Christ.

The Lords day is nothing to do with the Jewish Sabbath it is a different separate day
of worship that celebrates the resurrection of Christ.
first, we are not told to celebrate the resurrection in the New test.,
but we are told to keep the passover and the feast of unleavened bread.
-
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice,
as of a trumpet,Revelation 1:10

Theres no day of week is even metioned in this chapter, John is given a future vision,
about the end times, about the great "day of the Lord" mentioned in over 30 verses.
There is no authority from the bible to say the lords day is sunday now.

you may search the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you cannot find
one line or verse authorizing Sunday observance change.

the Bible enforces the keeping holy of the seventh-day Sabbath—and that
the sole authority for Sunday observance is based on edicts of men.

The truth is that Paul dealt with Judaisers in his day and now they rear their ugly heads up yet again.
1. Paul was a Pharisee. A teacher of God's law. He continued to
call himself a Pharisee even after joining the church.

(Acts 23:6) Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees,
called out in the Sanhedrin, "My brothers, I am a Pharisee, descended from Pharisees.
I stand on trial because of the hope of the resurrection of the dead."

2. Paul loved God's law. It was a delight to him.

(Romans 7:22) For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being,

3. Paul called God's law holy.

(Romans 7:12) So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy,
righteous and good.

4. Paul knew that breaking God's law is the very definition of sin.

(1 John 3:4) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law:
for sin is the transgression of the law.

5. Paul said that we don't nullify the law of God by our faith in Jesus Christ.

(Romans 3:31) Do we nullify the law by this faith? By no means!
Rather we uphold the law.

6. Paul often read from the scriptures on the sabbath (which is kept by the apostles 84
times in the book of Acts). And the only scriptures at that time was the old testament.

(Acts 17:2) As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue,
and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures.

7. Paul was accused of forsaking the law of Moses when he first joined the church.
(And ironically, he's still being accused today.)

(Act 21:21) They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among
the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children
or live according to our customs.

8. These accusations were shown to be false.

(Acts 21:24) Take these men, join in their purification rites and pay their expenses,
so that they can have their heads shaved. Then everyone will know there is no truth
in these reports about you, but that you yourself are living in obedience to the law.

9. When Paul was accused of forsaking the law of Moses, he always denied this,
and said he does live according to the law.

(Acts 24:14) But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call
a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law
and written in the Prophets,

10. Paul said that those who refuse to submit to the law are "carnal minded"
and hostile to God.

(Romans 8:7-8) The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit
to God's law, nor can it do so. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

11. Paul continued to travel to Jerusalem to celebrate God's feast days
after joining the church.

(Acts 18:21) But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that
cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.

12. Paul often quoted from Moses's writings, and cited it as authority.

(1 Corinthians 9:9-10) Do I say this merely on human authority?
Doesn’t the Law say the same thing? For it is written in the Law of Moses:
“Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” Is it about oxen that God
is concerned? Surely he says this for us, doesn’t he? Yes, this was written for us,
because whoever plows and threshes should be able to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest.

13. Paul claimed that ALL scripture is good for instruction in righteousness,
and given through inspiration of God. He never singled out Moses' writings.

(2 Timothy 3:16) All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness,

14. Paul mentions that the levitical priests are still offering sacrifices to God
even after Christ's death on the cross.

(Hebrews 8:3-4) Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices,
and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer.

If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already priests
who offer the gifts prescribed by the law.

15. The most well known teaching in Paul's letters is the one where he says
"you are not under law but under grace".

Millions of people quote this scripture, they almost always leave out the scripture
that immediately follows it. Watch what happens when you add the context....

(Romans 6:14-16) For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under
the law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law
but under grace? By no means! Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to
someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey--whether you are
slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

16. Paul told the Colossians not to let anyone judge them because they were observing
God's sabbaths and feasts because these appointed times are "a shadow of things to come".

Meaning they reveal future events, just like the passover foreshadowed Christ's
sacrifice on the cross.(Colossians 2:16-17)

17. Paul never repremanded anyone for obeying God's law. Instead, he repremanded
new gentile converts, the Galatians, who were trying to be justified by the law,
instead of faith in Jesus Christ.

(Galatians 2:16) Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith
in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by
faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

18. The Galatians, who Paul was repremanding for trying to be justified by the law,
were going back to serving other gods after they were circumcised. This is why Paul
had to explain that the works of the law can't earn your salvation.

(Galatians 4: 8-11) Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those
who by nature are not gods. But now that you know God—or rather are known by God
—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish
to be enslaved by them all over again? 10 You are observing special days and months
and seasons and years! I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.

- those weak and miserable forces where not Gods convocation

19. Paul understood that obedience to God's law is a natural result of salvation.
Once you become a true christian, God writes His law on your heart and mind,
and causes you to walk in them.(Hebrews 10:16)

(Hebrews 10:16) "This is the covenant I will make with them after that time,
says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds."

20. Paul's letters come with a warning label attached to them.

(2 Peter 3:16-17) He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these
matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant
and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you
may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.

and now they rear their ugly heads up yet again.

Isaiah 66:23 (KJV)
And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from
one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
