Shabbat Shalom. Just because you are a Jew circumsized on the outside doesn't make you a Jew. You are a Jew when you are circumsized in the heart. Have a blessed weekend. God bless and God speed.

Jesus was a Jew. And God's word calls us a Jew if we are circumsized in the heart. The term Jew in this Scripture is a symbol of those that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Christ. Found in Revelation 14:12.

Don't stress on semantics; live by the two Greatest Commandments always and forever, and everything else will fall into place.

If that is true, then please explain to me all of those Christians who were called Gentiles? They were not considered Jewish, nor were they expected to keep the Jewish laws and customs...

OK - the first greatest Command is to 'love God. How are you to do that if you reject what He wants you to do ?

Perhaps Jesus was referring to the Jews who thought their ethnic/jewish birth was the deciding factor. We know from scripture that salvation was 'opened to people from all nations Acts 10v35. It is not a good idea to focus on 'jewishness, since we (people) are all one (the same) IN Christ.

Sabbath was given, in the beginning on the 7th day. No people was Jew. God created man, male and female. In His own image after His likeness. The Sabbath is not only for jews. Shabbat Shalom.

In the beginning Gen 2v3 the Sabbath was 'not given or commanded to be kept - it was simply 'blessed and sanctified as 'holy time to God' .
Just because we are made in God's image does not automatically make man to be like God, or they would have kept the Sabbath holy. We just 'look like God if He could be seen - as Jesus does. So there is a difference of just looking alike and acting alike....something man has to learn.

Created in His image, after His likeness. To me that means what it says. In his image, means in His image. After His likeness, going after His likeness, meaning striving to be more like Him. So wouldn't we want to rest on Sabbath as He does.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made

Oh Dear here we go again. I say if someone wants to shove the Sabbath at people join the SDA if they havnt already. Otherwise decide whether to follow Judaism or Christianity as it is practiced by most congregations. At present it seems some prefer a Buffet Religion.

I am appreciating all the replies. God has given us a day in which to rest with Him. He didn't need to test but He wanted to spend a day with His creation an intimate day with His Son and Daughter Adam and Eve. He is God and He changes not. Many skip by the fact that Mark 2:27,28 plainly tell us, these are Jesus own words, And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man (not just Jews but all who proclaim the name of Jesus), and not man for the Sabbath: verse 28 Therefore the Son if man (who is the Son of man?) is also Lord of the Sabbath. (not a Sabbath but the Sabbath which denotes God's specific day of rest). So Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath.

I sense many will have the argument that the Sabbath was done away with at the cross so we don't need to keep the "Jewish Sabbath". Then why does Paul in Hebrews, years after Jesus death, burial and resurrection say this in Chapter 4. Verse 4-11. Verse 4 says KJV For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all His works. This refers back to Genesis 2:2,3. Why would God in Exodus 20:8-11 clearly command us to remember and keep the Sabbath Holy. What does it matter what day we worship God? Can't we worship Him everyday? While this is true it still doesn't excuse the fact that God has set aside the seventh day of the week as a day to honor and worship Him. In this commandment alone shows God's authority. He made the heavens and the earth. It is His seal. It shows creation and redemption if we read again in Deuteronomy 5:15, the word says And remember though wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the Sabbath day. Again God says to remember. Pharoah would not let Isreal go to worship their God. It was a battle of worshipping God or worship man.

Concerning the Jewush comment - I understand that Gentiles are grafted in as well. I am a gentile grafted into the vine. The term Jew Paul was referring to was to the New but also to the Gentiles who would allow God to writes His law in their hearts. ThJews were a stubborn and stiff-necked people just like we are. We don't want to be obedient to God's commands this is our carnal nature for it is enmity with God. But if we reason with a desire to trult seek Him we will be guided into all truth. As Matthew 5:6 says Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. We must possess a teachable Spirit. God is looking for those that will worship Him in truth and Spirit John 4:23

Perhaps no one has explained to you nor have you read the scriptures telling us that the Sabbath is 'the Lord's day' and not the Jews ? Lev 23v3. It was made for MAN....not any specific nation, denomination or country but for men/women everywhere.
What is practiced by most congregations is not necessarily the truth...most follow a 'herd instinct.
Don't you know that the MANY are on the road to destruction....majority does not count with God....Truth does !
Why would people fight against it when Jesus Himself kept it....not just because He was a Jew but because He always did what pleased His Father. Why would we not want to follow in His steps ???

Show me where I said I was rejecting anything, beta! Quit being a troublemaker by reading things that aren't there. That garbage really ticks me off! I pity any young Christian that's under your incorrect guidance.
