I found an Internet athiest TV show that exists purely to discredit Christianity. This TV show is broadcast world wide and is turnimg people away from Christ.
I'd like to get your oppinion on whether or not shows like this one should exist? Is debate type discussion like this a good or a bad thing?
Also I'd like to encourage as many Christians as possible to call into the show to defend the faith and knock these athiest hosts of their high horses.
The Christian representation on this show has been poor, so if you feel up to the challenge then I encourage you to call into the show as I will be doing and defend Christianity.
The show can be found if you Google: The Atheist Experience.

Clinton,

In your ENTIRE, and meager, number of posts (since you joined 3 weeks ago)
you have done NOTHING but try to ATTACK & DISCREDIT the BIBLE.

And now you're promoting an ATHEIST TV SHOW?

You're actually begging us to call the show,
so the atheists have FREE GUESTS TO ARGUE WITH....
so they can keep producing their show?

Seriously?

I'm going through a crisis of faith, seeking answers for the questions that are shaking my core beliefs. Thanks for your support Maxwel! I hope that nobody comes directly to you for help because I feel like you would only turn them even further away from Christianity.

The Atheist Experience comes up with really good points against Christianity that I find to be Faith shaking. I would really like to hear the Christian arguments more often to counter the points that they make.

I have found some of the episodes posted on YouTube. All of them are on the Atheist Experience website under 'show archive'

Well I put on one of the videos. It says speakers Russell Glasser and Don Baker. Right now it seems they are announcing show dates.

I suppose before they get into the video I ask you; why do you feel your particular Faith to be shaken in particular?

Well I guess discussing the specifics of what is shaking my Faith would be better discussed in other threads. I have raised a thread discussing the distance light from other galaxies travelling for billions of years through the universe to reach us and how that doesn't match what the Bible says. I also raised another thread about god and Jesus condoning slavery in the Bible. This one upset me because it made me question how I can get my morality from a book which supports slavery. Those two things plus many many others have made me question whether or not the Bible is actually the word of God

I am familiar with these topics in the general sense of them. So I cannot say personally that it shakes my Faith but rather enlightens my resolve.

The video I am listening to which I picked at random seems to be somewhat premised on politics I suppose, pretty big button issues abortion, gay marriage, and so forth of the day. Since these be frankly very cliché topics that I do not even really have anything to do with in real life anyways it is of little interest to me though I do like to hear the sides of politics I suppose so in that sense not a bad video.

Of these topics of creationism and slavery I perceive the slavery part you dislike. I am curious why, but if you would like we could discuss that particular topic in the thread you mention if you wish.

Clinton, I used to do the same things you do. I watched the atheist youtube channels, read the blogs, the comments. And I became convinced for awhile. However, as I strayed further and further from God, I never stopped asking questions.

Including what exactly it meant if there was no Creator. And I can tell you it's very dark, despite what the internet atheists might claim. The thoughtful atheist knows better. He knows how dark it is...everything ends in death even the universe.
And there are very profound consequences to consider if we really are just a product of chance destined to mass extinction...a fate we cannot escape...

The universe is running out of usable energy and no amount of space exploration will save us from the heat death of the universe. The universe is heading towards thermodynamic equilibrium and no life will be possible. Now this isn't proof of God's existence, but it is something that shouldn't be ignored. And I think more atheists ought to be more consistent and face up to it instead of pretending life matters in that regard...because if they are right, life doesn't matter at all...not in the grand scheme of things. It will make no difference whether we ever existed or not. And that means that purpose, meaning, value and morality are all illusory.

Here's an important tip. Start listening to what the Christian experts have to say in response. Because there are very good reasons to believe God exists and to believe Christianity is true. Start listening to the Christian philosophers, theologians and apologists. Dedicate as much time listening to their responses as you are to these atheist shows. If not more. Most of these atheist arguments start falling completely apart once some light is shed on the kind of arguments they are making. There are lots of resources out there. Pray if you can and ask God for guidance. If you have specific questions feel free to PM me and if you want resources, I'll be glad to give you links to debates, names of authors, titles of some good books. But seriously... start googling Christian apologetics instead of your atheist studies. If you type in "Christian apologetics" on amazon, you'll get an idea of how many resources are out there.

Well I finished watching the video. It got much more interesting with the callers for sure. Really what struck me was how the two hosts were more interested in talking about God and/or religion of the callers than some of the more secular things brought up earlier in the video like the politics.

If you would like to talk about slavery or creationism still I am still game. Either I suppose raise the topic if you wish to discuss there or here if you wish.

Don't let your faith be moved at all. The atheist cannot deny God, the atheist can only deny that he believes in God.

There is no such thing as an honest atheist. An atheist says there is no God. They know it.

I ask : Of all the knowledge there is to know in all the universe - how much do you think you know? If they are honest - they would say probably less than 1%. Is it possible that in the other 99% of things you don't know - that God exists?

They can be an agnostic which means they don't know but they cannot be an honest atheist. There is no such creature in real life.

Now I can see them rejecting the "God" that us Christians sometimes project onto them. People in the world can usually tell the difference when something is just not right.

Gandhi talked about this.

I think i've heard of it before. Should it exist? No but if people decide to be wicked & disobey God that's their decision which will have consequences. I've spoken to atheist before & the majority of them are arrogant & lost. The majority of them want to live their lives as wicked as they desire. When told there will be consequences of their actions regardless if they reject God existence they get defensive. Believe it or not regardless of how arrogant they appear on the outside many of them fear receiving judgement.

Atheists say they are not religious, but atheism is a religion.

If a person believes God does not exist, then why waste time debating it and trying to
convince others. Unless of course there is a nagging doubt and they are really trying
to convince themselves.

Jesus said to spread the gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth, that's why Christians
spread the gospel.

But if atheists don't believe in God's existance, why does God bother them so much. :D

Wow, these were all really amazing responses. I'm really blown away by what I have just read, insightful and inspiring. I will need some time to think before I can respond. Thank you.

My response is simple. Amen to the athiests in their search for truth.

There is a lot of superstition and following beliefs because they are there.
For Jesus to be real in peoples lives, it actually has to be understood.

I am a believer because I believe in the testimony of scripture and what it is
saying.

Jesus comes to talk about sin, responsibility and love.

Atheists often are fighting guilt, love and meaning, and are commited to creating
a lawless society without focus or structure.

Their hatred of God often goes so far as rather than considering a proposition that
God must exist, they will think of every other excuse to deny his existance.

This has occurred in science where the foundation of our universe is so exact, it
could only have been created. They hate this so much, they invented the idea we
are just one of multiple universes, and it just appears to be created.

The truth is we always know only in part, and belief in love is a beautiful thing but this
oppose the heart of man, and accepting our failure without communion with the King.

But the banner of seeking after truth, is our banner too, which is important to embrace.

I have seen a few Utube video's from Atheist experenece and i very much doubt they would allow any acomplished Christian apologist air time on their show.. They seem to only allow enthusiastic but woefully unprepared Christians to get air time because they are easy to defeat and undermine.. You have to realise those types of programs are not live.. So they can edit out any Christian caller who has given some valid points and who seems intellegent and well spoken.. They can even organise athiest friends to ring up playing the part of Christian to put forward stupid arguments that can be shot down with ease.... Don't be decieved.. Many of these people hate God with a passion and are waging a war against Christianity and will use any dirty tactic they can to decieve others..

We are all athiests until Jesus knocks at the door. Even if we do believe in God
its not the same as having a relationship with God.

This was posted on here a while back, see how God transforms atheists and
makes everything new.
