thats the point. He was so Christlike he was Hindu.
Hinduism is about escaping your emotions, your heart, this reality and going back
to the oneness of existance and God.

Jesus is about becoming real and alive, conquering sin and living in love and praise.
Jesus was not an asthetic, as the pharisees objected he ate and drank with sinners,
and they called him a drunkard.

So I think you have Jesus all wrong, as well as hinduism.

There is no maybe about it. Ghandi was a sexual pervert who used his fame and position to give him access to young women.

i have no idea. But what I do know is this. Three worship pastors I served under cheated on their wives. One executive pastor that I knew cheated on his wife and embezzled money from the church. A tech director that I served under did time in federal prison for looking at kiddie porn. The current pastor treats his wife and people in general like pieces of crap. Who knows what's going on there now. Just glad I'm not part of it anymore.

Ghandi was a sexual pervert? Is there proof of that or just some story that someone started? In JH our teacher read us the story of Ghandi and he seemed to be an example of a good person. He started the idea of non violent resistance that was picked by the civil rights movement in America. I have always heard good things about this man, where did the idea that he was a pervert come from.

Hey Samuel,

Yeah, I think there's quite a bit of proof for that.

The press has done a good job of hiding it and covering it up.
And of course Hollywood never tells the truth about anything.

It's just one of those historical things that lots of perfectly smart people aren't aware of.
There's no way to even find out unless you go digging around in Indian history or something.
But there seems to be plenty of evidence.
There were actually a lot of known scandals he was involved in, publicly in Indian... and in the West, and in modern history, they've all been covered up and ignored.

You can probably think of some current world leaders that are treated like saints in the press...
but actually they're not.
: )

This stuff happens.

I was involved on a worship team at an evangelical church for 12 years. And now that I've been away from it for awhile I'm actually quite blown away by what I witnessed and how I was treated.

That is really sad and a good example of the fallen world we inhabit.

Things like that make me think, Come Lord Jesus!

Hey I had a friend in the AOG that went to this area to try to get people to come to church. There was a nice church building and no people so I ask him what was up, he hem hawed around a little and then said, well the Pastor and praise leader run off together. I was working with a fellow that was invited to this church and he found out that the Preacher and music director were sleeping with each other and they were both married to other people and it had been going on for quite a while. The church today is in an awful way and not just doctrinally.

A good person, huh? I thought you went by what the Bible says. Even Jesus denied being good but you think Gandhi was a good guy? Also I doubt very much he was the originator of the idea of non violent resistance.

Gandhi never made a secret of sleeping naked with is great-grand daughter and the wife of his great-grand son. It may have been his way of testing his control over his sexual drive, but these women were used as guinea pigs. If he had used other adult women, it would have been nothing more than interesting gossip. But Gandhi chose a teenage blood relation and a great-grand-daughter-in-law for his sexual whims. It is as unforgivable as it is unbelievable. I do not belong to the brigade that admires the Emperor’s new clothes, and have no fear or hesitation in telling the truth about him. Ironically, it was he who instilled in me the mantra of ‘satyameva jayate’. Gandhi was obsessed with sex – while preaching celibacy to others: Kusoom Vadgama

They were obviously in bad shape before any of the outward dysfunction
manifested and blew the rest of the facade to smithereens.

Sure...but with the increase in knowledge is the increase of sorrow...I was more happy when I though he was a good man...almost as bad as finding out about Bill Cosby.

Why would you think Gandhi was good when even Jesus denied being good? And where do you think Gandhi is now? Has he reincarnated as a dog or a fly or girl perhaps, to be sexually abused by men? That is what his beliefs would have tended to, being on the great wheel of karma and having to pay his dues. According to the beliefs of many Christians, he is burning in hell right now, where he will be tortured and tormented while awaiting the resurrection.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good...Jesus Christ.

Is that a denial that Jesus is the only way to God?

I have Jesus all wrong? So I guess from that statement one can conclude that you have him all right? That's pretty funny right there. Now...please spew some christianese forth from your righteous tongue.

The church is bugging me. It's become apparent to me that the modern American church and its leaders are frauds. All of them. We need to feed our neighbors with our money and let the modern church die.

no kidding

I could have written the post for you

you are transparent...which is better than being a sneaky hypocritical backstabbing liar

I can't help but think it is a series of incidences that cause you to say this

I'm sorry...
