The Holy Bible exhorts us many good and simple principles to attain holiness as expected by God in our life
But many of us failed to understand them well properly and thinking that godly principles are very hard to follow. In Deuteronomy 30:11-14 Moses told that "the commandments of God are not hard to follow in our life but they are simple and very close to us" Hence the man of god Moses had written this, how many of us are thinking adversely?

My first suggestion would be for you to go to the Gospel of Christ, and read what He said about how to attain eternal life, and how He instructed us to live..........He did a fairly good job of teaching us how to attain Salvation, Sanctification and Justification.........

:)

It's contained in the four Gospels.........then, you can read what the Apostle Paul taught as he preached the Gospel of Christ to the gentiles..........Moses is fine, but Moses was for another time and another Covenant........just saying

Yeah... eternal life is given, not earned. Unmerited, unfavoured, unearned. All people do to receive eternal life is believe on Jesus Christ who then seals them with the Holy Spirit for eternity.

This isn't to say the God does not command us to follow Him.. but that the following from people to God comes out of love for WHAT HAS ALREADY BEEN GIVEN THEM.

You don't 'attain' eternal life in terms of righteous works. It's a free gift.

Ephesians 2: vs 8-9 is about this.

John 10:28-29 also. John 5:24 .. in fact most of the book of John shows Jesus' free gift of eternal life to whosoever believes in Him.

(Titus 3:5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

(Titus 3:6) Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

(Titus 3:7) That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

This is really clear all through scripture!

Justified by Jesus Christ.. His payment for us.. His gift of eternal life.. not by us working to get eternal life.

Really what you told is true. Jesus teaches many good and wonderful truths about the Kingdom of God as well as the importance of inheritance them. Even though He talks about Eternal Life and it's goodness, we failed in many of them because of our unchanging mind-set and stiff-necked attitudes of our life". In meantime many godly men overcome the destructive power of evil and worldliness through their understanding of Scripture properly. Let we explore and study them all through this chat room discussion for our betterment.

You have mentioned a word "another covenant" in your reply. Yes it is the "covenant of Christ". Ezekiel 36:23-38 is talking well "how the Spirit of God helps us in our life to abide in godliness.

Let us share the knowledge and experience which are helping us to get closer to eternal Kingdom through this chat room.

Acts 15: KJV
[SUP]5 [/SUP]But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

[SUP]7 [/SUP]And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

[SUP]8 [/SUP]And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

[SUP]11 [/SUP]But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Dear Wattie once again I thank you for your response

What you mentioned is true.

It is purely through the grace of God, not by the merit of anyone. Even though we read and understood these truths through Scripture the things of the world cornering us negatively. Jesus says that "you will get cleans through the word which you have received from me" means the words which we are receiving from the Holy Bible itself cleans us completely from our sin and equips us to inherit eternal life. What I understood in my life, reading the Scripture enables us to be as God expected to be.

Give your views to get more information in this matter.

Thanks dear good friend FreeNChrist

What you said is true. Apostle Paul says that "Christ is our hope of glory" in all manner of our life. We are not in a position to accomplish anything as God desires by our own power, understanding and knowledge. But through Christ, " who has been promised to live in us" we will gain strength, help and guidance to walk towards holiness and righteousness which leads us to eternity.

Colossians 1:27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is*Christ*in*you, the hope of glory.

Gospel of John also told "without Christ we can do nothing" but when we are united in true vine "means Christ" then we are blessed in all our ways.

Yes, I think the commandments aren't as difficult to follow as a lot of people think.

Amen, Brother,

but only by the Grace of God and our own personal Love for Him and His Sacrifice are we
among the 'convicted', who only desire to have that special, personal, relationship with Him,
through our acknowledging His Sacrifice, the WHY we LOVE and WORSHIP Him so very much...

Christ's Commandments given in His Gospel to the Church? I would agree......not that any of us are able to ALWAYS obey ALL.........but, that is what Grace is for. :)

The Law, as recorded in the First Testament and ruled the First Covenant, is a different story. No man could obey all of the Law........otherwise, there would have been no need for the New Covenant, Grace.........

:)

I find it interesting that the word "keep" His Commandments comes from the Greek word tēréō Strong's #5083 (from tēros, "a guard") – properly, maintain (preserve); (figuratively) spiritually guard (watch), keep intact. It does not mean sinless, perfect obedience to all of Christ's Commandments 100% of the time. If it did, then we would all be in trouble!

Dear P_rehbein thanks for quoting two commandments.

We have seen old commandments in Exodus 20 and the explanation of new in Ezekiel 36:23 onwards. In the first, God instructed us to do by our own, but in new He comes our helper. Whoever calls him for help will keep the comments easily. Today I have read Leviticus chapter 27. There God gave instructions about offerings to different age groups. At the end God gave exception to weaker section as well. It proves that our God is so merciful. Matthew 11:28 also says that we have a redeemer to ease our burden of our life as well obeying commandments of God.

Spiritual obedience has always been connected with warfare against evil and devilish tricks (Ephesian 6:13). Unless we accept ourself as weaker person before our High Priest (Jesus Christ) we will be in struggle. Instead if we submit ourselves before Christ then we will accomplish everything well easily as God pleases.

I use the word "commandments" to differentiate from the law given to the Jews.

I think you have missed the point Jesus was making. :rolleyes:
The commandments are simple, though not easy to follow. It takes a little discipline. But Jesus was pointing out it needs to be done. Thanks for the sarcasm.
