Many people understand full well that we are sinners who fully need God's grace. Some folks are stronger than others, able to eat spiritual meat and prevail triumphantly over the fiery trials of life unscathed, while others are still only able to drink spiritual milk, needing extra guidance, encouragement and comfort.

May we, as one body in Jesus Christ, earnestly pray for one another, asking God to strengthen all of us, meeting us where we need Him most, so that we may overcome trials, tribulations and temptations.

May we always encourage each other lovingly and in humility, producing not only good fruits of Victory, but champions of Truth and Grace, to the glory of God in Jesus' Name. And let us always be comforted and strengthened by the following:

Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. -- Jesus Christ.

......and that is all of us. Amen.

We are all in the same boat when it comes to temptation and sin. None of us are any better, or any worse, than any other because we have all sinned and we have all fallen short of the glory of God……AND, we have all been justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:23-24)

Accountability is powerful.

Most sin disappears under that component.

What works every time is walking by the spirit. No one walks 100% by the spirit all the time. We all at some point give in to the works of the flesh at different times if we are even half way honest. ( well except for the sinless perfection in the flesh group ).

This goes against our true nature of who we are in Christ now.

Personally I don't believe the new creation in Christ can sin as 1 John 3:9 and 1 John 5:18 show. It is the "deeds of the body" that we need to stop from wanting to do what the flesh wants. We are in the spirit. It's a position of the inner man.

This is one of the reasons why we need to have our minds renewed to the truths of the new creation in Christ. That is our true identity. We are still responsible with what we do with these bodies - the vessel that holds this treasure in it.

What is the answer? First - know that there is "now" no condemnation to those that are in Christ. Then feed on Christ - His love and grace towards us in what He has already done for us. These "nutrients" will provide the nourishment needed to walk by the spirit within us which has been created in righteousness and holiness.

Glad to see you started this thread brother. Your last statement is my favorite bible verse very encouraging:)

Jesus specifically met with the devil after baptism.

Look at this picture.
1) identity John said "behold the lamb"
2) position John,a levite, changes the priesthood to the tribe of Judah. That's why John baptized a man with no sin.
3) baptism with the Holy Spirit
4) fasting to annihilate the flesh
5) setting Satan straight. Putting that dynamic in order.

From that platform Jesus begins his ministry.

Most stop at #1,and number 2is a sorta by product.

That is why we walk in defeat and cling to terms like " oh well,we are JUST sinners saved by grace"

....because we are weak, our testimony is consequently sin top heavy.

Note the triune dynamic in Jesus' encounter with Satan

I have found this place in scripture to be helpful, he that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. The times in my life when I really felt that I had it together were the times that I really got hit by Satan. There used to be a famous boxer whose specialty was the hidden punch, that is how Satan likes to do us, when everything seems to be working right and we are not really having a problem with anything, that is when Satan will drop a bomb on you. Jesus told us to be on guard and so did Paul.

Long ago I had a friend who seemed to be the perfect believer; he would stay all day long reading the Bible, praying, and talking about Jesus. His preferred verse was "admonish one another" instead of "pray for one another" or "love one another". But we were all amazed at him. He criticized all churches for not being just like the primitive church and was applauded by many.

Our friend wanted so much to be like Jesus that he quit his job as a pilot in a large airline and said he would do any menial job instead. He said the work environment he lived in was too worldly and the Kingdom of Heaven was for the poor. It was not until his wife and kids began to starve that he decided to return to his previous job, but the doors were closed. The only job he was offered was one as an executive pilot for Edir Macedo, the worst of all false prophets I know of.

Our Christian friend who once frowned on the worldly live style of airline pilots, is now saying "yes sir, yes sir" to a false prophet and the bread he feeds his children is bought with dirty money.

I learned my lesson: beware of perfect Christians! Let's pray for one another, let's love one another, well before we can admonish anyone.

Well stated. If we don't continue to improve by God's graces, if we don't accept His forgiveness and each time getting better to we can really be that new creation....then what are we doing?

If we don't believe the gospel of the grace of God in Christ - then we instead create a religion called Christianity and we are creating our own D.I. Y. self-righteousness/holiness and condemning and attacking those believers that believe in the grace of God for all things in our lives.

1 Peter 4:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:[SUP]13 [/SUP]But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Hebrews 2:[SUP]18 [/SUP]For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

1 Corinthians 10:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.7Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.[SUP]8 [/SUP]Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.[SUP]9 [/SUP]Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.[SUP]10 [/SUP]Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.[SUP]11 [/SUP]Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.[SUP]12 [/SUP]Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.[SUP]13 [/SUP]There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.[SUP]14 [/SUP]Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

Romans 13:[SUP]13 [/SUP]Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.[SUP]14 [/SUP]But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

1 John 2:[SUP]15 [/SUP]Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.[SUP]16 [/SUP]For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.[SUP]17 [/SUP]And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Hebrews 4:[SUP]12 [/SUP]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.[SUP]13 [/SUP]Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.[SUP]14 [/SUP]Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.[SUP]15 [/SUP]For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.[SUP]16 [/SUP]Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

2 Corinthians 10:[SUP]4 [/SUP](For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)[SUP]5 [/SUP]Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;[SUP]6 [/SUP]And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Ephesians 4:[SUP]17 [/SUP]This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,[SUP]18 [/SUP]Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:[SUP]19 [/SUP]Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.[SUP]20 [/SUP]But ye have not so learned Christ;[SUP]21 [/SUP]If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:[SUP]22 [/SUP]That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;[SUP]23 [/SUP]And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;[SUP]24 [/SUP]And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Philippians 4:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.[SUP]7 [/SUP]And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.[SUP]8 [/SUP]Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.[SUP]9 [/SUP]Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Philippians 1:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:[SUP]7 [/SUP]Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.[SUP]8 [/SUP]For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.[SUP]9 [/SUP]And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;[SUP]10 [/SUP]That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.[SUP]11 [/SUP]Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

1 Peter 5:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:[SUP]7 [/SUP]Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.[SUP]8 [/SUP]Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:[SUP]9 [/SUP]Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.[SUP]10 [/SUP]But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.[SUP]11 [/SUP]To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1 John 3:[SUP]3 [/SUP]And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure..........[SUP]8 [/SUP]He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Timothy 4:[SUP]18 [/SUP]And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:[SUP]24 [/SUP]Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,[SUP]25 [/SUP]To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 12:3-11, "For consider Him Who endured such opposition against Himself from sinners, so that you would not become weary, and faint in your minds. You yourselves have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as unto sons: My son, do not despise the chastening of Yahweh, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom Yahweh loves, He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives. If you endure chastening, Yahweh deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all are partakers, then you are bastards and not sons. Furthermore, we have had fleshly fathers who corrected us, and we gave them reverence; should we not even more be subject to Father Yahweh, and live? For they truly chastened us for a few days as they thought best; but He, for our profit, that we might be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful at the present time, but grievous; nevertheless, afterward it produces the peaceable fruit of righteousness, that is, for those who have been trained by it"

When you drop into temptation and can't help yourself, please think about how Lord saved you from death and darkness, then watch the movie, The Passion of the Christ. When you see Jesus's blood was given for you, the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed......He did everything for us, so, do you still want to "enjoy"the sinful feeling in the temptation? Don't you feel sorry for Jesus?
