I am not sure if this has any bearing on the Prosperity Gospel, but there is no question that Joseph is one of the best "types" of Christ in the OT. However since getting into that subject might derail this thread, perhaps you should start a separate thread on Joseph as a type of Christ, who virtually went from slave to de facto Pharaoh in Egypt, and all because of God's plan for Israel and Messiah.
There is no question that godly men mentioned in the Bible (such as Abraham, Job, and Joseph) also prospered and shared their blessings with others. There are also Christians mentioned in the NT who gave all their possessions to the work of the Gospel and the well-being of the saints. God does not bless Christians because they earned or deserved their blessings, but because of His grace and goodness.
And poverty is not necessarily a virtue, just as wealth is not necessarily a curse. It all depends on how people view wealth, but covetousness is clearly idolatry. Without cash no Christian ministry could survive, so cash is not evil. It is THE LOVE OF MONEY that is the root of all evil. Even Christ and His apostles had a "treasury" (so to speak) but unfortunately, the treasurer (Judas Iscariot) was a traitor and a thief.
As to the Prosperity Gospel, it is basically flawed because it teaches that the more you give to to Prosperity preachers, the more you will prosper. That is more of a con than a Gospel.

I don't know, but Joseph, in faith to God, caused Egypt to prosper big time. I was looking at the Egyptian artifacts in the Grand Canyon and one man said there was evidence of the Egyptians visiting that area many times, raising crops and mining minerals. Apparently they had found an easy route to that area. They thought it could well have been Joseph that was responsible for that. He sent out many ships to gather food and wealth. During that world wide famine, Egypt fed the whole world. Awesome!
Denadii, you should consider, that the OT blessings are bohne to obedience to God's word and was given to the Jews. The NT never gave a promises to got we although and health while living in our fleshly body on this old dieing earth. If so show me one Single vers. Mat the web 6 ore philippians 4 is not speaking about living in wealth. Non of the Apostles lived a comfortable life in wealth and health. Why we should? Non of your List of verses, Supports a prosper life for christians, before we are staying in heaven!

Actually, Jesus discourages setting your heart on your wealth on earth. So believers can save for retirement if they want to as it is responsible to provide for your spouse for retirement,

As instruction are given to the church about what kind of widow of the congregation they should be taking in under their wing, verse 8 does go to show the responsibility of the spouse to provide for the spouse for years as a widow.
........but they just have to lean on Him to be ready to go even as widows and leave all that wealth behind by having their hearts set on the things above and not on the things of the earth.

Verse 19 is in reference to laying up in store in Heaven for themselves as those good deeds done with His provision and His ministering in them is the foundation with good deeds that lays hold on eternal life to be received with rewards by Him as vessels unto honor in His House with crowns at the pre trib rapture event.
Doing good deeds is not for salvation, but for the rewards that comes with our salvation which is why one should sets their hearts on the eternal treasures above and not on the treasures that passes away on earth.

God is a prosperity preacher....Unless He lied?

So the application of prosperity towards saved believers under the New Covenant is a whole lot different, and certainly, scriptures in the N.T. speaks against the prosperity gospel that preaches by giving to the Lord, He will multiply what you had given and return back to the giver seven fold or ten fold or whatever the going rate is now for covetousness which is not godliness with contentment being the greater gain.
Nobody should be giving out of the spirit of covetousness. The fact that the call to give in that fashion shows the spirit of covetousness that issue that kind of call to give.
So we are to warn against the gainsayers.... because there can be no other gospel to preach but Jesus Christ & Him crucified. Read the OP again in how N.T. scripture trumps using scripture from the O.T. that support the Prosperity Gospel. Godliness with contentment is really great gain whereas gambling in giving in hopes of receiving riches is not.
