When you are looking for a church, should you wonder in what capacity you can best serve the church, or in what capacity the church can best serve you?

I say one that can best serve me... I wouldn't want to go to a church where I can't feel good and comfortable. Once I found the right church then I would be willing t serve there.

Believe I would look to their doctrine first..... Do they believe what you do or vice-versa

Is there any church out there that teaches you every thing you need know, or do we need to read our Bibles and walk with the Lord to learn those things?

Will you then turn around and welcome the newcomers to your newly found church, as they have welcomed you?

John/Yahanan 4:25-26, "The woman said to Him; I know that the Messiah comes, and when He comes, He will tell us all things. Yahshua said to her: I am He speaking to you."

Mattithyah 28:20, “Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Mattithyah 24:35, “Heaven and earth may pass away, but My teachings will not pass away.

John/Yahanan 14:26, "But the Comforter – the Holy Spirit which YHWH will send in My Name will teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I (Yahshua/Jesus) have said to you."

John/Yahanan 6:63, "It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words (Instructions) that I (Yahshua/Jesus) speak to you, they are Spirit, and they are life everlasting."

John/Yahanan 12:48, "He who rejects Me, and does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to judge him in the last day."

PRAISEYAH!!!!!!!

Great is יהוה, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable. Generation after generation praise Your works, And they declare Your mighty acts. I declare the esteemed splendour of Your excellency, And the matters of Your wondrous works. And they speak of the might of Your awesome acts, And I recount Your greatness. They send forth the remembrance of Your great goodness, And they sing of Your righteousness. יהוה shows favour and is compassionate, Patient and great in kindness. יהוה is good to all, And He has compassion on all His works. All Your works give thanks to You, O יהוה, And Your kind ones bless You. They speak of the esteem of Your reign, And talk of Your might, To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, And the esteemed splendour of His reign. Your reign is an everlasting reign, And Your rule is throughout all generations. יהוה is supporting all who are falling, And raising up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to You expectantly, And You are giving them their food in its season, Opening Your hand and satisfying The desire of all that live. יהוה is righteous in all His ways, And kind in all His works. יהוה is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He does the desire of those who fear Him; And He hears their cry and saves them. יהוה preserves all those loving Him, But all the wrong ones He destroys. My mouth speaks the praise of יהוה, And let all flesh bless His set-apart Name, Forever and ever.”

You have been dealing with this for quite some time as I recall. One of the first posts of yours I read was (paraphrasing) about you having disagreements/problems with your Congregation/Preacher and what they/he were/was preaching/teaching. You pondered if you should leave or stay and try to "fix" things..........Not dissing you, just saying.....

This appears to be a continuation of that theme, as revealed by your second comment here:

Are there any churches out there that agree with you on every issue?

In some ways, I wonder if you are "fishing" or really seeking advice, whatever. Either way, I will say that Churches/Congregations (in general) have a "common belief/doctrine" they Preach/Teach. While individual members may disagree on certain points of that common belief/doctrine, they agree on the greater part, and thus, they remain part of that Church/Congregation. Nothing wrong with that for that person.

However, IF a person goes to a Church/Congregation KNOWING that what they believe/teach is in great disagreement with that the person believes, and STILL remains......then that person is being a "disruptive spirit" within that Church/Congregation in my opinion, and SHOULD NOT be there.

I know this is not the answer you want or will accept............but.......then..........I have to wonder, are you fishing or sincerely asking others their opinions?

You really can't read people's minds. I'm just trying to make the point that perhaps people should think more about what they can do for their churches, than what their churches churches can do for them.

Never said I could read peoples minds..........just giving my thoughts........and, as evidenced by your "Rising......." thread posted, it is just a continuation of this one........don't have to be a mind reader to see that.

As well, nothing wrong with your "point," but it IS a part of the central theme you often post about.......don't have to be a mind reader to see that either.

Now, concerning your point..............in my opinion, the answer is BOTH.......one is not exclusive of the other..........each member of a Congregation should be a productive member of that Congregation............HOWEVER........if they are not being FED (spiritually), then there is something wrong...........the Church/Congregation should be feeding the Flock...........just as members of the Congregation should be productive members.

The answer is BOTH.........they are not separate things in my opinion.......

There is a permissive will of God and a perfect will of God. In the permissive will of God, God will bless the Believer. In the perfect will of God, God is able to make all grace (favor) abound toward you.

This is new to me. What is the difference between blessing and making all grace abound?

The permissive will of God regards what God will allow or tolerate what is less than good or perfect for the Believer. God will still bless the Believer.

Out of 603,550 men who were readied for war that came out of Egypt under the power of God (Numbers 1:44-46), only two took their inheritance; Joshua (a type of Christ) and Caleb (a type of the body of Christ) (Matthew 7:14). There is only one message that changes the body of Christ into the image of Christ, and that is Jesus Christ and Him Crucified (Romans 8:2, 29, 30, 1 Corinthians 1:17-18, 23, 1 Corinthians 2:2, Galatians 6:14, 2 Peter 3:18 ).

The answer is both, but doctrine has to come first.

No, I can't say I've ever belonged to a church that I have agreed with 100% on every doctrinal issue. But there are some differences I have no problem overlooking.

If you feel you can agree with the church's doctrine (for the important things), then I would look to where you could serve and be served. They are not mutually exclusive. If all one does is serve and is never being served, one will eventually begin to feel like they are being taken advantage of, lonely and isolated. So it has to be a two-way street.

It's both, I go to church to serve and be served, meaning to grow in the LORD.

I think it shouldn't be one or the other for me it's both I want to help however i can but I also am at times when I need help as well, also I want a church that feels like home to me even if some of the doctrines and beliefs don't fit my own I want a church that I feel comfortable being in and talking to people a church where I can help out and also have people who understand what I am going through and can help guide and teach me a church where I can truly flourish as a believer.

i have yet to find such a church but one day I am sure I will

Neither...

You should wonder if the church teaches the true Gospel if it teaches the Message of God.. Or if it preaches the doctrines of men,,, or worse,, the doctrines of demons..
