********A New Twist on an old topic------a gay man truly gets saved----repents of all sin----turns from sexual sin and pornography---has the witness of the abiding Spirit that he has been born again-----------after living for Christ for 5 years being accepted and recognized as a true and faithful witness for Christ---is turned by the gay agenda propaganda and turns toward open homosexuality---marries another man and starts a church welcoming gays and lesbians----What is your opinion----what does God's Word say about this**********if you're allergic to controversy avoid this thread---but I expect healthy Scriptural debate...

There is one and ONLY one way to be saved:

Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Being gay or straight has nothing to do with it.

Now, mind you, we all will be judged according to our works and reap gain or loss accordingly. But we will still be saved.

"As thru the fire" for some.

"Healthy Scriptural Debate:

Romans 1:16) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 .) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 .) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 .) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 .) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 .) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 .) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 .) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 .) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 .) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 .) For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 .) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 .) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 .) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 .) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 .) Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 .) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I 'm not against eternal security (there is much security in Jesus) ----I think the Scriptures give us enough warning not to take such a light view of our salvation---I would not preach Once Saved Always Saved--thinking I could be condemning some to hell who take God's Grace in vain---please do not fall for this teaching if you are on the fence and want an excuse to sin freely...

I Corinthians 5:5
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

(Bold emphasis mine)
The specific context deals with the sin of fornication, specifically with one's father's wife, but I think the principle applies in this case as well.

Arminianism versus eternal security, AGAIN?? And I am sure grace versus the law will soon follow.

Since there are already so many threads on this topic, you need go and read them all, and abandon this insincere thread.

So, does someone who baits others with an insincere heart lose their salvation or not?? Perhaps the OP ought to examine his heart, and figure out what his motives are for all these threads that glorify him, and not God. Another reason one might lose their salvation?

How far did Adam and Eve go, it only took one sin for them to be come castaways and cripple mankind with the consequences of sin and death of the which future generation suffered this consequence ..In fact every sin we do, the surrounding world suffers surely to a less degree but surley...

A man gave a free gift of a new car to his son, the conditions were if he abide in the traffic laws and not get any tickets...The son was wreckless, receiving many traffic tickets. The father took the car away because the conditional covenant was broken and taken advantage of, he did not abide in the covenant conditions. laid down from the beginning.....No difference with God's promise, it also comes with conditions of obedience, known as the new covenant, not a mere clothing for sin that still exits...

That's the beauty of it... none of us will be practicing any of our sins in heaven!

If the person is a practicing homosexual with no intention to change they will be judged for it. It's one thing to backslide & repent for it. But to live that lifestyle as if there are no consequences is dangerous.

Can I ask another question. If you had a straight
person drug addict, criminal etc. who became a Christian born again, went to
bible college, evangelised others. Was highly respected for years and was a true Christian.
Then one day left his wife for an adulterous affair with another woman, left, the church and
began living a Godless life. What about them. (I know someone who this happened to).

The answer for both persons should be the same, it makes no difference whether gay or
straight.

Only God knows a man's heart and potential. One example might be the
prodigal son.

Good evening PrynceNY,

Regarding this, Paul wrote the following to the church in Corinth:

"Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."
