Here is an except from my devotional this morning on this very topic.

The promised land was a land of rest where God promised His people “large and beautiful cities which you did not build, houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant”. (Deuteronomy 6:10–11)
But for 40 years, God’s people wandered in the wilderness because they refused to believe that God had given them a land where everything had been prepared—the work was finished. They could not believe that God had given them a land full of good things to enjoy, a land which just flowed with His abundant supply.

Today we are called to "enter into that rest" Not only for heaven but for today in our daily mortal lives we are to strive to enter INTO this rest. We can only enter in by faith.

Not sure how to better explain this than I've already done in the previous posts. Joshua and Caleb are great examples the Bible uses clearly but ok, I'll give you another example and I'll make it short. You profess to be a Christian and so let's say for sure you are a believer even though I don't know you except from these CC posts. As a believer who is bought and paid for by Jesus Christ, you have been given such great and precious promises.

You can avail yourself to them by faith and claim those promises for your own and 'lay hold of them' or you can focus on your "giants" in this world. Both choices have their own outcome. You'll get to heaven (the promised land) but how you live your life here on earth will be either by living victoriously overcoming in Christ or being overcome by the things of this world.
And that seems to be the difference between us.

Similarity -- We are supposedly both saved.

Difference --
You seem to think you can force God's hand.

I think God's plan is perfect, and want to be with him. He's given me HIM! I am content with him. My only frustration is with me. He deserves better and only through his help can I give him better.

i gave warning to think by using the logos word on it own, your cut off , it not what you think that matters, its what s already been layed as a foundation. so some religions can think they are spiritual if they want.

but god loves all, an moves among a body. even if that body has no understanding to why.
5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith---6 just as Abraham "believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"?Galatians 3

having a personal relationship
if you don t enter into gods rest.( by the gate) and in truth to the foundations already layed, then your cut off. from spiritual rest. or spiritual teaching part. (gal 5 1-4) the spiritual is nothing to do with land. its a spiritual belief , being taught by the holy spirit.

for exampe to meantion some things that keep you out of the teaching part of the holy spirit

unbelief, worry , wrong interpretations , when you believe a lie to be true. (hence, studding the word , to get truth)

this dose not cut you off from salvation(nothing can do that)
. not everyone is a leader, but there is many believer, that claim to have a personal relationship,in the spiritual (some call this born again). but have no growth in the holy spirit ,because (see examples) but may get some growth from there human church teachers. books etc (.to keep it short).

in simple terms learning to hear in holy spirit, takes rhema, ( the spoken word, or dreams or vision , )etc
you can not do that if your worrying about human needs ,(need to connect to the spirit) because if your ministering for god, your ministering for god, to the people or flock. or one person or one message on a forum etc.

for the children that are still worried about there sin before god.

say this 3x time a day till you have memorised , and pray that god will help you understand what this means.

Romans 8: Life in the Spirit
1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.3

then god will see you.

Not sure where you seem to get the idea I'm trying to force God's hand? I do want to be like Joshua and Caleb by facing those giants in my "land" while knowing Christ is with me all the way. Doing what I'm assured in the Bible to do in the name of Jesus.

I don't understand why Christians like you Lynn (and there are a lot) think that taking the Bible's promises to us- (God's Words in a love letter) and claiming them as truth for our lives by faith.. is forcing God's hand? It's like taking a check and knowing the Author of that check is good for what He put on it. So you can go and be totally confident in Christ that all is there just as He promised. The "check" will NEVER bounce. No fear. We have great and precious promises that were bought and paid for by Jesus Himself.

How do you say that is forcing God's hand??

there is the whole point, you have missed a new covenant. (personal relationship)
so now you cannot force gods hand.

firstly ,your asked to believe in a saviour, not to believe in a god firstly or a bible promise.

For God So Loved the World
16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.John 3

This was a little hard to understand Royal but I think I got the gist of it. I'm also thinking of it like this., We can be the heirs of a huge estate and all the legal paperwork was done for us and on file in the lawyers office. We can even have the paperwork on our wall and look at it all the time as a nice pretty paper worthy of framing.

But we instead move into a small 'other' house where the water doesn't work, so no washer and dryer, there are holes in the wall so mice get in and mess the cleaning we just did., There's no furniture or beds to sleep in. We have to work and slave and sweat to get THOSE things to put in that house and live each day hand to mouth and making deals to get old broken furniture and threaded sheets and towels and blankets.

Our lovely framed paper is in our possession on the wall yet we never moved into the estate that we inherited from our brother. In it is everything we need. Fresh running water., a washer and dryer ready to use., cotton linens and heavy warm blankets on sturdy warm soft beds. No mice because the estates excellent cats do their job. We don't have to work by slaving and sweating but we can actually use that estate to help warm others and meet their needs too.

But we would not.

you need to know the directions to get in to a spiritual life or understanding, parables are for kids.
hence the usage of truth. the usage of voice from the holy spirit or god. the usage of dreams or vision ie building (temple) body (spiritual)
gods got to teach you first, to hear from him. that dose not mean, what he teaches you is for everyone. or your just back to usage of a logos word trying to compensate for your own blindness. when was spiritual thought s or understanding got to do with man made objects or worldly thinking, because direction and correction is a big part of listening to god, and thats in the spiritul understanding. not in a worldly understanding.

for example

experience in hearing from god. (singular )

experience, in teaching other to hear, what you said and expect other to hear you. ( you need ,church attendance or one to one)

are two different things.

on here it is up to the other to test the scripture , that have been quoted to them. if they dont then they continue in blindness.(and aredead to this realm) to the fullness of spiritual realms of being taught by the holy spirit. etc

Sorry Royal, you are still over my head here. I'm super interested in sharing that God's promises in Christ are also for us in our lives even as we live on planet earth TODAY.,NOW. We have not been left alone. We are taught in some of our churches that these are spiritual truths that we will not see until we leave this planet and get to heaven.

But I totally disagree because it's IN the Bible. When the Good Shepherd sets a table for us in the presence of our enemies it is not up there in heaven. It's here where we need Him to do such things.
In heaven we won't need to be fighting the good fight of faith. We will see Him as He is all the time not at certain times as we keep practicing His presence and begin to see Him more and more.

Practicing His presence will engage us to seeing Him more and more in every situation in life but unfortunately many Christians are cut off at the ankles when it comes to seeing Jesus work in the church today. Those who don't believe for healing will not see it. Those who don't believe for being rescued won't see it. And they attribute it to God's will to not rescue and save them from those giants in their land.

Our lives are today about believing and then seeing. We can't expect the amazing works of Him to be revealed in our lives when we won't believe Him for it. I'm one who lived for years thinking that my life depended on me and the situations in life and how well I pounded the pavements in the world. If I didn't take care of me and mine., NO ONE WOULD. That was FALSE. That was a lie. I believed it and lived a hopeless life of religion that said 'suffer suffer and suffer... then suffer some more.

Jesus said to come unto Me and we will find rest for our souls. Was that just for our prayer times? Was it only for when we were not struggling to make it in this world? Did He mean we would suffer the SAME tribulations as the world suffers or are OUR tribulations the ones that come from unbelief??

I'm learning we are NOT to struggle to MAKE IT in this world like the people in the world do. We have a Savior., we have an Abba Father. We have a Shepherd and a Protector and a Comforter. How can believers think they are no different than the world? The things I end up saying on these posts lately is to not believe in religion because that says you are bunched in with the unsaved and you can't expect more and you are no different. NOT TRUE. WE ARE DIFFERENT.

NO we have a Savior and a Abba Father and a Holy Spirit and these 3 in one are daily involved in the lives of believers. We have angels who are charged with helping and assisting us. We have more than we even know. And so much more than we utilize.

If I do X, Y, and Z than God has to.... You're out to cash the check and continue on. (To use your analogy.)

It seems you're always in it to see what you can get out of it.

Going into the Promised Land? I'm there with God. I'm not waiting for heaven. I mean I'll get there one day, but the biggest thing I'd get in heaven, I already have -- God. I'm enjoying him. I'm clinging to him when I'm scared. I'm trusting him that this path isn't as scary as it seems to already have been. And, as scary as it really has been, it's not as bad as I feared because he is with me. I've made it this far with him. I'm enjoying the walk. He's showing me some really cool things. THIS is who I wanted. The thing that bothers me is taking him for granted, not doing what he asked of me, not doing more, not being able to do enough. He's given me everything, so what more do I need other than him?

God driven. Not Me driven. Me driven hasn't worked out at all.

You're going through your stuff and I'm going through mine. I'm not in it for what I can get because I'm only "in it" because of Jesus and His offering me this amazing full "gift" of salvation He has purchased for anyone who will believe. And now I want to be and do and say and have all He wants for me. What a shame to not posses all that He has given based on a lack of activating it by faith??

For instance., The Bible says God has not given us the spirit of fear BUT of power and love and a sound mind. So., is my mind always sound and making sound judgments every minute of every day? No but those ARE major things He has given at the time of my salvation., and the goal is to obtain in real time what He has given (by faith). To live today activating that power and love and sound mind and more each day as we practice His presence. This takes a life time here on earth but we are not to be weary in well doing and the fruit of such practice is awesome.

The goal is to daily obtain and grab hold of (by faith) what He has obtained already for us. Faith is the only way to obtain them. How do we please God? When we trust Him and believe what He says. WITHOUT FAITH IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD.

The Bible says to daily WORK OUT your own salvation in all seriousness and single mindedness ... That means to work OUT what Jesus has already done by working it IN us. But if we don't seek to obtain it we won't have it living and moving in our lives today. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

That spirit of fear immobilized me for years. Kept me from obtaining in daily living the power and love and sound mind that was ALREADY bought and paid for by Jesus when He died on the cross. Let me ask you this Lynn., if Jesus has obtained things for you by paying the PRICE only HE could pay., (such great and precious promises) why then is it wrong to want to know the promises and have them ALL?

We believers are all told to LAY HOLD OF those things that were already laid hold of FOR us. Each day we learn more about the salvation we have. (to daily become more intimately and deeply acquainted with Him and the Power of His resurrection) There is more to this "so great a salvation" then what we first knew and believed.

And as we do see Him in all things in our lives., we should be seeing more and more of Him and less and less of our old ways and the worlds ways of living. We won't cease to exist. I've found that the Lord wants me to INTERACT with Him in my spirit man., in this most holy faith.

I'm not to be a monk up in the hills. We will be vibrant living examples of what the Lord Jesus does to those He has saved. He changes us and makes us like Him. We are self aware of the changes and can't deny that. It's silly to deny the things that make us His creation.

blindness is personal ,being instruction from god,is not the same as i do not understand you post, when did i become god. yes , i quote again ,personal relationship. god teaching you at your level and at your speed. not a man saying things over your head, and why i do not understand that man. (you can run, but cannot hide, truth is free, lol) only if truth was freely understood, (food for thought)

I've never been immobilized by my fears. The type of things I fear don't give me time to be immobile. Good thing, or I'd be focusing on them instead of God.

As for why I don't seek out everyone of God's promises to see how they affect me? God has promised us a mansion in heaven. As my mind sees that today, that's pretty funny. What's the use of a mansion if I'm going to spend eternity in God's presence? I'm certainly not going to spend my time keeping up some mansion, exploring it, redecorating it, or whatever else people do when they get mansions. I'm going to be with God enjoying and praising him. (He's really going to have to do something beyond my comprehension with the mansion thingy.)

Meanwhile, you're exploring every inch of the mansion. Seeing exactly what God gave you.

It's not the gift. It's the giver.

Yet God still gives the gift. How rude to not enjoy it and be grateful. He wishes to bless us with the riches of His grace, and indeed our love for Him grows as we continue to witness His great love for us, but this doesn't mean we don't enjoy the gifts. Heaven itself is a gift, of sorts, in that we will get to experience it. Are we to ignore that which He has bestowed? Of course not. We enjoy it, and we enjoy Him.

god gave you free will, and protection , not propaganda to think you are heard by all, since there is division , and confusion, wash your own feet.

I am the apple of my Daddy’s eye!!!! Which means I am a sinner saved by His grace, I’m sure that some days He may like me more than others; trust me sometimes… well let’s just say grace rally can go a very long way. Lol. But His love no matter what kind of day it is never changes, and I’m Daddy’s little girl, in my eyes His favorite, because He loves me like that always!!!! I’m sure as individuals everybody else is His favorite too, but to me I’m Daddy’s favorite!

Look, no matter what I do or don’t do He saves me from this life and many, many times from myself. When I’m sad He is the glory and the lifer of my head. When I spend time with Him one-on-one He shows up in an unspeakable tangible way that it’s G-d and me, me and Daddy. He gives me power to storm a troop, or scale a wall, when the tide comes in like a roaring lion He calms the sea.

He built me a mansion, that is just waiting on me, in a neighborhood with streets of gold. when I finally fall asleep and move home I get to cast my crown before Him. Just think, for being a silly human He is going to give me a crown to get to cast at His feet. What can beat that!?! AH!!! I love Him and He loves me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep!!! I am the apple of my Daddy’s eye!!

Being fear based effects every thing a person will think and do. For people like me it's coming to the end of the 'self' you always used to use to get you by in life. The mind you had and all the things you counted on as sure as you counted on gravity are suddenly gone.

You still have some power Lynn since the things you fear don't give you the "Luxury" or time to be "immobile" so you are forced to be mobile and so you push on in your will and strength.
Now in comparison to what I said, the 'choice' was taken away from me so although I pushed forward it didn't work. My efforts at living failed and left me immobile. As compared to you whose efforts did not fail and you continued to be mobile. Neither one of us had time to be immobile yet you still moved forward and I was immobile. 2 very different outcomes. 2 very different women.

When I come here and write about the promises in the Bible., I do so as they are the lifeline to survival. The difference between living and dying. Jesus' promises to never leave us or forsake us are vital to survival. When I don't believe this for today's life., I will be immobile. Should He not provide for me today I will not be provided for.

I think about the kind of love it takes to be such a Provider and it for sure will be great to get to heaven because the small taste of Jesus here is being filled to overflowing. He says to taste and see that the Lord is good. So we taste!
What moves believers like me is the "Husbandry of Jesus". Being cared for and secure speaks peace and security. Settles the soul in a fixed state.

That is the exploring we do. Tasting and seeing that the Lord is good. I see life like this; We are defenseless sheep in a world of hidden ditches, carefully camouflaged areas of quicksand., mud holes ready to suck down it's prey and yet we sheep are able to "expertly" maneuver around them without any ability of our own.

How is this possible!? How does a weak defenseless sheep do this? They keep believing the Shepherd Who promises He will get them through. And He will do it with flair and style and grandeur. And so when we are weak then we are strong. And as mcubed said in her post here.,

He gives me power to storm a troop, or scale a wall, when the tide comes in like a roaring lion He calms the sea.
