After reading some of these comments I am really glad I don't feel the same way you do about murder. To kill someone for breaking into my house is not something I would even consider. But I can also defend myself without needing guns so i do have that advantage.

Speaking about rape or an attack on another person is always tricky. I would avoid murder at all costs, but a person cannot always control themselves in the heat of battle. Its possible to do enough damage to a human where they might wish they were dead.
You remind me of a guy here a while ago...Jason007......stated some of the same things your saying.........

I think it is unique to each circumstance.....if someone comes up and slaps you...Jesus said, turn the other cheek.....if one comes up and attempts to cut your throat you defend yourself....

Again...Solomon said there was a time to kill.....we cannot alleviate the facts of the first post....GOD moves the hearts of men...the law of the MEDES and PERSIANs could not be reversed once it was given....GOD allowed the circumstance to arise that ALLOWED the JEWS to defend themselves and NOT one perished.....

Knowing the righteous indignation of God I cannot imagine on any level Jesus expecting anyone to allow the death of an innocent person if the ability to stop it is available.....
Excellent question DC. Im not sure who Solomon is so ill have to read up on him.

???? He wrote Ecclesiastes and most of the Proverbs....the Son of David and Bathsheba the 3rd King of Israel........rule 40 years on the throne and God blessed him with wisdom, riches and fame and power over all his enemies.....

Well this is not an easy one to answer is it? I mean it's one thing if it's just me but if other peoples lives are in danger do I really just turn the other cheek? If the store I love to walk to everyday is being robbed and a guy has a gun my first instinct would likely be to put myself in front of whoever he is pointing the gun at but if he is allowed to continue to point that gun around everyones lives there are in danger and in an intense moment like that you don't tend to rationalize like you do when your just imagining this situation.

In this case I would fight to simply disarm him and keep him from doing any more harm to others and himself but kill? I couldn't take another persons life in my view each and every persons life has value more so than my own.

Because instead of asking for the last three on the list he asked for wisdom to lead the people......

He wrote Ecclesiastes and most of the Proverbs....the Son of David and Bathsheba the 3rd King of Israel........rule 40 years on the throne and God blessed him with wisdom, riches and fame and power over all his enemies.....

He had different thoughts on violence in the second book though. I recall Jesus saying to turn the other cheek.
Turn the other cheek and allow someone to be harmed? That's not what Jesus is talking about.

If someone broke into your home you should do everything possible to defend yourself and your family including the use of lethal force if necessary.

lol no my reason of being is not to take life but to give life. some people can be seen as a sword they fight and inflict pain and they hack and slash through life I suppose you could see me as a shield a shield protects and serves and when need be pushes the enemy back or stuns them but never to kill

Jason was more of a chicken peckerhead than a chicken killer.

I believe in fighting for the right reasons and if one takes a life in self defense then I will not judge but for myself if the situation is the same it is not a life for me to take besides I don't know the future for all I know this person whose life i could take could end up being one of God's most powerful soul savers and that alone is reason enough for me to simply disarm him
