I was in chat this morning and Mr Pineapple mentioned magnifying the Lord. (Thanks Mr Pineapple) It pierced my heart. And I thought, in what way have I magnified the Lord lately.

And magnifying Him because I love Him.

As you all know, :) to magnify is to make larger, to enlarge. So how do we make God larger than He already is. And it came to me that in our humanness we make God smaller than what He really is and that's why David in Psalms encourage us to magnify the Lord.

Have you magnified the Lord lately? I'm sure you have without even realizing it. But I asked
myself if I have intentionally magnified Him because of how much I love Him and because of how good He is to me.

Psalm 34:3

O magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

Anyone want to magnify the Lord with me?

How do we make Him larger than life? How can we focus in on His goodness and mercy and then magnify it so that He's our total focus in life each and every day?

Psalm 147,

1, Praise Yah! For it is good to sing praises to our Strength. For it is pleasant – praise is fitting.

2,
יהוה builds up Yerushalayim, He gathers the outcasts of Yisra’yl –

3, He heals the broken-hearted And binds up their wounds.

4, He appoints the number of the stars, He gives names to all of them.

5, Great is our Master and mighty in power, There is no limit to His understanding.

6,
יהוה lifts up the meek ones, He throws the wrong ones down to the ground.

7, Respond to
יהוה with thanksgiving; Sing praises on a lyre to our Strength,

8, Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who prepares rain for the earth, Who makes grass to sprout on the mountains,

9, Giving to the beast its food, To the young ravens that cry.

10, He does not delight in the strength of the horse, He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.

11,
יהוה takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who wait for His loving-commitment.

12, Extol
יהוה, O Yerushalayim! Praise your Strength, O Tsiyon!

13, For He has strengthened the bars of your gates, He has blessed your children in your midst,

14, Who makes peace in your borders, He satisfies you with the finest wheat;

15, Who sends out His command to the earth, His word runs very speedily;

16, Who gives snow like wool, He scatters the frost like ashes;

17, Throwing out His hail like pieces; Who does stand before His cold?

18, He sends out His word and melts them, He causes His wind to blow – the waters flow;

19, Declaring His Word to Ya‛aqoḇ, His laws and His right-rulings to Yisra’yl.

20 He has not done so with any nation; And they have not known His right-rulings! Praise Yah!

1, Praise Yah! Praise Yah in His set-apart place; Praise Him in His mighty expanse!

2, Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!

3, Praise Him with the blowing of a shophar; Praise Him with the harp and lyre!

4, Praise Him with tambourine and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!

5, Praise Him with sounding cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals!

6, Let all that has breath praise Yah. Praise Yah!”

Psalm 35

Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication;
And let them say continually, “The Lord be magnified,
Who delights in the prosperity of His servant.”
And my tongue shall declare Your righteousness
And Your praise all day long.

Here I had to ask if I'm declaring God righteousness and praising Him all the day long? Am I magnifying Him all day long?

In my heart?
In my thoughts?
In my actions?
In my words?

What does it look like in your life? In what ways do you do this?

Expressing Love is expressing Godliness, therefore invoking the part of you which was made in the image of God, and is not of the body, without self. Self-ish is to Mind, and Self-less is to God.

Jesus was selfless 100%

So the magnitude of God = Expression (to the power of Love) minus Expression (to the power of Self)

I'm not a mathematician, but something like that :)

By walking in obedience to His leading will you see the Lord magnified. Why? Because you'll see His mighty works and His love operating through you unto His glory. Beyond praise, in which you magnify God, you can witness His glory manifesting in the earth as He intervenes in people's affairs to extend His love.

So how do you magnify God? Be about the Father's business and as you see His heart in all things it will cause your heart to rejoice in your God, and sing praises to Him. Praise wells up in the heart and then comes forth from the mouth, or as scripture says out of the abundance the heart the mouth speaks.

As you see His love for you and others, it then reciprocates out of you towards Him.

Well if we both have truths and I amalgamate them:

|God| = Obedience * Expression[SUP]Love [/SUP]- Expression[SUP]Self

We can magnify The Lord by being humble, giving credit to God for all that He is and all that He has done and is still doing. In our prideful selves we rejoice in a good thing we may have done instantly forgetting all too often that any gifts we might possess were given to us by God Himself. All glory must be directed to The One who makes all things possible.

Magnify The Lord in Prayer, in praise and in worship. Magnify Him by reading His word and dwelling on it, understanding it and acting on it.

Thanks to all of you for sharing how you magnify the Lord in your daily life. :) I love what you've all shared.

It helps me to see that I/we do magnify the Lord more than we may think we do because we do it so naturally. We have a new nature that becomes first nature and that first nature can't help but to magnify the Lord. :)

We even magnify how large His love and forgiveness is when we confess our sins to Him.

We magnify Him when we find a quiet place to listen and hear His voice through prayer and or reading His word.

We magnify Him when we allow others to provide our lack in the gifting they have in Christ.

We magnify Him when we sing praises to Him corporately and at home when it's just Him without anyone else around.

We magnify Him when we care for others and serve them.

When we give our offerings to God He's being magnified.

When we clean and cook for our family and when we work outside the home to provide for the needs of our families, we're glorifying and magnifying God.

All we do is an act of worship, isn't it! It makes me think of the scripture that says that in all we do in word and deed, do it all to the glory of God.

His word kept in the mind and Heart will do that. The Best move any christian can make, is to wake up 30 minutes earlier each morning and prayerfully study His word. Prayerfully meaning ask Him to give understanding, express the desire to Know what He is really saying. The Word is a light, a Lamp that goes before us to guide us on the paths He desires for us to Know and do. after some time dedicated in the word, pondering those things throughout the day, meditating on the words, those things become active in our thoughts because we believe them. Gods Word changes the way we think, changes the possibilities in our minds become part of us, our hearts and minds Our lives change because our hearts and minds change.

disussing with athiests and even some christians, they will say " its just a book" But words are how we communicate a message to another person, The Bible is Gods word communicated to mankind and there is a spirit that is communicated in His word to mankind, an active spirit that wporks in us, changing the inner parts....in my own experience magnifying God happens when we are focused on His word, not only reading or hearing it, but accepting it and retaining it

I couldn't possibly magnify God more than I already do. I imagine looking in His eyes often, and being in His heart- literally. A red room where I lay down and cuddle His heartbeat. Where I am forever safe from every evil and temptation. It's like a red muscle that doesn't move but I can feel a pulse inside. The only other person Who ever enters that room is Jesus.

I thank God for giving me an imagination, because this thought is so comforting to me.

Hi Onefaith,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. When Mr Pineapple mentioned magnifying the Lord, it truly pierced my heart. The reason is because I've been going through a tough time for over 3 months now.

Without going into the details, I just couldn't get through this fog I was experiencing. I'm currently in a bible study on the sufferings of Paul in 2 Timothy 2. And it couldn't be more timely.

So the study is helping, my own personal struggle and calling out to God is helping. God having Mr Pineapple say for us to magnify the Lord (which I accept as a word from God) and other things have been helping me to get through this trial......this fog I'm shrouded in.

So the thing is, I'm not always magnifying God every moment of my day. When the focus is on self, on my problems or the problems of the nation or my family, the focus has been removed from God and so I'm not magnifying Him at that moment.

Although I'm not generally a worrier, I have my moments where I do. So I'm not magnifying God then either. My thoughts are on the problem and not on God who provides the solution.

If you don't need to magnify God more than what you already do, I applaud you. Well done. You're in a good place. :)

All done.

.....Terrible jokes aside, I think I may be the only one here who has little idea what the Bible actually says beyond a third or quarter of Genesis (I just started a few months ago, okay...it's long), besides some of the quotes I see here, so I'm thinking of continuing my Bible reading. That's how I think I would 'magnify' God.
