You're one of the consistently positive forces around here :) You've earned the right to gripe a bit by not doing so elsewhere.

You've obviously never seen me green and proper angry! Lol

It bugs me when some churches (and maybe they shouldn't even be considered churches) preach contrary to what the Bible says. I don't mean have different interpretations of some verses or confusion over which Old Testament laws apply to Christians. I had one pastor who believed everyone went to Heaven because Jesus gave a gift and regardless of whether or not we accepted the gift it had been given. Another believed that the verse referring to the wolf dwelling with the lamb referred to the idea that our sinful natures would still be present in Heaven. Neither of these theories are Biblical and they blatantly disregard other verses.

It also bugs me when Christians are so eager to demonstrate that they know the truth that they lie and say they don't sometimes doubt or are confused about certain issues. To be fair, I've been guilty of this in the past, so I'm not saying this applies to others but not me. I get angry with myself when I do this, as well. I just think that there are a lot of issues that we talk about and don't admit that we sometimes wonder if other interpretations are correct or if we're looking at things the wrong way, or even question God about.
You've heard some weird theological viewpoints in your short 24 yrs.

I've been spiritually renewed("born again") since 1993 and haven't heard the stuff you've mentioned.

I agree. I don't understand how anyone can study the Bible and believe that no one goes to Hell. Or that sin will exist in Heaven. The first view point I think comes out of a desire to not have anyone suffer for eternity, which I don't want either, but the Bible is very clear that those who don't accept God's grace will be punished. The belief about sin in Heaven...I don't know how any one could think that unless that was the only Bible verse about Heaven he read.

I've heard about the one that Rosella mentions about Jesus giving the gift of salvation to
everyone. Maybe you might know it by a different vocabulary. It's called universalism. I have a friend who believes this way. And she follows a pastor who teaches this in another town about an hour away. She's had him in her home in the past as well.

I haven't, however heard of the sinful natures being present in heaven. That would be a new one that I haven't heard, but I certainly don't doubt what she's saying. There are some pretty weird teachings out there. :(

What churches have you been too that preach such heresy? What denomination is it?

The first view point I think comes out of a desire to not have anyone suffer for eternity Or thinking that an all loving God couldn't/wouldn't allow eternal suffering. That viewpoint of God fails to recognize God's characteristics of holiness/righteousness and righteous anger.

The church where the pastor believed everyone went to Heaven was Lutheran and the church that believed we'd keep our sinful nature in Heaven was Presbyterian. However, I don't think either is necessarily specific to a denomination or that all churches of those denominations preach those things. My grandmother is a Catholic and she says that the nuns at her school taught her that the Bible verse that states "In my Father's house are many mansions" (side-note, for some reason it took me a while to type house. The u key wouldn't go down and it kept typing hose. Very different!) meant that there's a mansion for Buddhists, and one for Jewish people, and one for Muslims, etc. I think it's just a result of faulty preachers.

Seems like when they are passing plate it would be nice if they said. If ya have a dollar give it, if ya need a dollar take two. but yeah i know just like in Jesus day, some would come to get full on word, some would come to get full on food and not even hear what Jesus was saying. Less plastic people would be nice, some praise the Lord on sunday morning, and cuss at t.v like a drunken wild man in the afternoon. Lets just get real.

You mean the Holy Spirit has to do what we want he should do? Ore is He the One who deceides by himself how and where he will act?

****when people put their feelings above the Word of God we get all kinds of weird doctrines---I've been saved for 40 years and seen some weird beliefs-----the most recent ones coming out strong----being a practicing homosexual and considering yourself saved (no)----------everyone will eventually be permitted into heaven after they suffer for a while---kinda like a Protestant Purgatory----just stick to God's Word----when people leave the Word of God we end up with Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Universalists, ect...

It bothers me when churches evangelize without attempting to disciple.

Eph 4:11-12
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
KJV

It bothers me when pastors take upon themselves all or most of the work of the ministry instead of exhorting training and equipping the church members to do the work.

It bugs when churches are more concerned with the numbers coming in instead of the numbers they are sending out.

It bugs me to see the names of people at the ends of the pews and on the bottom of stained glass windows. It kind of makes me feel ill. I would get mad if they DID plaster my name in the church!

it not only 'bugs' me, but when I see 'snake-handlers' preaching that this
is the only 'proof' that someone is a 'true' child of God by NOT being 'bit',!!!

'beyond belief'!!!

Strictly speaking....Matthew 28 is an imperative command given to each and every member.....I have a problem with pew warmers expecting the preacher and a few deacons to be the only ones witnessing and attempting to lead the lost to Christ and then they wonder why their church stays stagnant with very little to no growth......I also cannot stand sitting in a church where the main menu is 57 songs, 9 specials and 10 minutes of a prefabricated, regurgitated sermon.......

the 'false-altar-call' that I and 90per-cent of the congregation bought into, lock, stock, and barrel, while the
big city evangelist' stole all of our money, not to mention our hearts..,
