1. How does body influence our soul (for example sinful nature) and how does soul tells our body what to do (what actions to make)?
- my question is technical: how does material body interacts with non-material soul and vice versa

2. How does the status of our bodies influence the capabilities of our soul - during sleep, after some head injuries, while drunk etc people cannot process even simple thoughts - does that mean that the soul cannot do it without a body?

If so, how does sould works without a body at all (ie after death)?

We are functionally whole human beings who function at three levels: spiritual (spirit, pneuma), psychological (soul, psuche), and physiological (body, soma).

If our brains are damaged or otherwise hindered, of course our thinking (soul, psuche) well be affected negatively.

Lets say you want to move your hand now. How do you (or your soul) force your body to do that?

I don't have to force it. My brain sends the message to my hand to move, and my hand lovingly responds by moving.

Your brain is your body. How does your soul interacts with your brain? And how does your brain influences your soul (for example your mood because of some chemicals level in your brain).

Which is still my OP question - how do body and soul interact with each other.

You raise a very intriguing question. In fact there is a whole field of scientific study dedicated to the interaction of brain and mind. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, there is no real answer.

Certain ancients, I believe, thought the pineal gland was the seat of the soul, but there is no way to confirm or deny it, that I am aware of.

Another aspect of your question might be how does the Holy Spirit interface with our spirit and our mind. And, how does demonic influence work. What part of our brain, mind, spirit can be open to evil spirits.

It is not wrong to ask such questions, but I doubt you will find any answers on CC.

If this is a serious concern, spend a lot of time praying to God for the wisdom to understand the truth about these things. I doubt there is any other was to discover the answers.

But if you find them, be sure to post them here. ;-)

People are soul, spirit, and flesh, and the only thing that will live on forever is the soul, although the saints will have a glorified body. All spirits go back to God who gave them, regardless of how the person acted on earth.

The soul is our true self, and makes the decisions between the spirit, our connection to God,and our flesh.

The saints soul will live on forever in a glorified body, they will put off the flesh, and God will receive the spirit back that will not be part of the saint anymore.

Yep. Pretty much. Although for those who believe the mind and brain are one and the same its a little easier to explain.

First the verse...

Hebrews 4:12
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart"

I will explain in a moment the rest...

My understanding is that we exist as both body (physical) and spirit (spiritual), and the soul is formed by the interface between the two. Thus we can submit to either good or bad in either body or spirit, and either ways it affects our soul for good or bad.

Man does not have a soul, man is a soul. Genesis 2:7

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

You want Technical, so that's what I will provide.

WORD OF GOD

This is your DNA. It is the Book that God wrote, thus it is the Word of God...

Psalm 139:16
"Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them"

TWOEDGED SWORD

This is God giving you a metaphor or symbol for DNA.

Now... every time you see 'Twoedged Sword' in Scripture, you know God is referring to DNA.

Example:

Revelation 1:16
"And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength"

The Seven Stars (Seven Churches) refer to Nucleobases (Word of God). We are the Nucleobases of God's Body.

Seven is the Chemical Element Nitrogen.

The 'Stone With Seven Eyes' is also a Nucleobase.

This is why God will 'engrave' a new Genetic Sequence in it...

Zechariah 3:9
"For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day"

Another example:

Proverbs 5:4
"But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword"

Wormwood in this verse is referring to Phosphorus, the Chemical Element often related to Lucifer that makes up the *SERPENT* strands in our corrupt Human DNA.

Thus when John eats the 'Little Book' of DNA (remember... DNA is a Book)... the Deoxyribose is sweet, but the Phosphorus is bitter...

Revelation 10:10
"And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter"

DIVIDING SOUL AND SPIRIT

If you haven't guessed already, DNA is where said takes place.

Spirit is the Nucleobases... the Word of God.

Soul is the Phosphorus (be wise as Serpents) where our ego and personality reside.

God has placed a division there.

When we die, God will separate the two while giving us our Glorified Bodies.

The Serpent gets replaced with the White Stone with a New Name (Gene Sequence) on it.

Any questions?

I have usually thought of the body, being this good looking 5' 1" mass which
I walk around with which also includes my brain! lol

The soul being what makes me me. My personality, the way I think. Identical
twins for example have different personalities. Even none Christians have souls.
They have personalities and an inner voice.

Our spirit is that part of us which is made to have a spiritual relationship with God.
We all yearn and naturally need to be alive spiritually, that's why so many turn to
"religion, the occult, superstition, fortune telling, and other supernatural aspects.
But the spiritual part of us, is not satisfied until we become spiritually alive
through Christ.

The way I think of it is, we get a brand new everlasting body (the current fleshy one
will turn to dust). The risen Jesus had a new body, the disciples and others didn't instantly
recognise Jesus. Somehow He was able to hide His identity in the risen body.
He could appear and disappear. He was transfigured and disappeared. So I'm looking forward
to my new body! Until that happens my earthly body will continue to get aches and pains
and be constrained by the world.

I like to think my soul will be renewed, in that I will know everything perfectly and understand
everything and be able to live happily ever after, but I think I will still be me. Just a perfect
version of me. At present my soul is hopefully being refined and honed (boy do I need a lot
of honing in the refiners fire!). Somehow we will be transformed in the twinkling of an eye.

My Spirit is now fully alive and is already seated with Christ, it's as perfect as it's ever going to get.
So I am one third perfect already. I have to admit though that it doesn't feel like it.

There is a genuine link between body and soul. Physically pain can cause mental pain.
Life experiences can cause depression. As a man thinks etc... is often subject to whatever is
happening with and around the body.

Equally if a person is anxious and depressed (in their soul) this causes physiological,
hormonal and chemical changes in the body leading to increased heart rate, sweating,
breathing changes etc and lots more.

We can't seperate the body, soul, spirit they all interact. But one day all parts will be perfect.

Adam was created a soul, that is, a living person. According to the Bible, Adam was not given a soul that could live apart from his body. So when Adam sinned, he died. He became a “dead soul.” (Numbers 6:6)

Numbers 6 v 6 refers to the vow of the Nazarite and they they will not go near
dead bodies.

Numbers 6:6 NKJV
[6] All the days that he separates himself to the LORD he shall not go near a dead body.

Did you have another verse in mind?

interesting questions, i've also wondered about this, I don't think thought has any atomic weight, not sure how it connects to the soul.....great mystery....science is now concluding there is no such thing as a soul....you know the supposed experts say

Genesis 2:7 was already presented in the thread.
