Salvation is being born of the spirit...as in a spiritual birth......

Paul said....that he was alive once without the law, heard the law and then sin revived and he died........what did he mean?
He obviously did not die physically so......My conclusion is he was safe and alive under grace before he reached that age where he became mentally and spiritually accountable unto God.....I.E> he became aware of his sin and sin nature by the word of God...at which time he died.....he was reborn spiritually the day he acknowledged JESUS by faith and admission as LORD......

There are allusions to what we label the age of accountability when it comes to children....no particular set age per se....but when David's son with Bathsheba died (a picture of the innocent son of David paying the price-->Jesus) David said he would go to that child and see that child again some day......

So I guess I am saying....we are safe under the banner of blood and grace until we become aware of our nature, we are dead spiritually and must be reborn fro above by the spirit........

It is early and I am still half asleep....so........ ;)

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. Matthew 10:22

But he who endures to the end shall be saved. Matthew 24:13

You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 2:3

Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 2Timothy 2:10

If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. 2Timothy 2:12

so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28

After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! Revelation 19:1

yup

nope

until we are saved, our souls run the show.

when we are born again, our spirit is alive in Christ and things start to change

walk in the spirit means to not let your soul/flesh rule over your body the way it did before you were saved

when God told Adam and Eve they would die if they ate from the tree in the garden, they did. They died spiritually.

If you will reread that post, you will see I noted three parts to us and stated the same as I did above
Amen, Before we were "born again" our spirit was dead.

1. We were thus seperated from God
2. We could do not good (we could do morally good acts, but they were not righteous deeds, but deeds of unrighteousness.) (waiting for the attacks to start)
3. Once our spirit is made alive, we have the capacity to have Gods love flow through our spirit to our mortal souls. and through this, the capacity to love others, and start to do real works of righteousness.

why does it make no sence ? the bible is clear you can recieve the spirit... but your salvation isnt decided until the day of redemption.

The bible says we are saved, It says our salvation will be completed on the day of redemption. But we are just as saved today as we will be then.. The only difference is our flesh will be made new, and we will be completely free from sin.

Amen!!

It is the basis of our belief..

As John said, I write these things to you so you may KNOW YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE< and by it, CONTINUE TO BELIEVE N HIS NAME.

Eternal security is the basis by which we continue to trust God. if we have no security, how can we have faith?

you know, often i think 'whatever is not of faith is sin'.

it drives me to my knees.
Thats why I do not understand all these people who do not think they sin, or only sin every so often, or if they do sin, it was an oopsie or mistake.. or done in ignorance..

I think God wants us to know what you just said.. the more we see it in ourselves. the more sinful we realise we realy are.. and the more we would probably spend on those knees begging for Gods help so we can go out and serve him by serving others..

It takes faith to serve others, especially those we do not get along with.. Yet that is what God wants.

I won't reread Sevenseas. I trust you.
The above does sound different.
And is stated 100% correctly.

We have a body.
We have a soul.

When we know God we also have a spirit.
The spirit affects the soul.

The Body:
Physical
Amoral
Imperfectible
Mortal

The Soul:
Psychical - Mind, Emotions, Will
Amoral
Imperfectible
Mortal

The Spirit:
The "heart"
Moral
Perfectible
Immortal

The spirit affects the mind, motions, will - or the soul.

Hi seven seas

Believe we are a trichotomy:
Body
Soul
Spirit

You got the order mixed up...

Our soul is ruled by our spirit.
Not the other way around.
Dead in spirit, so really not that important the order, or if it is a trichotomy.

Ephes. 2 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Grace,, and by the grace of God we where saved from wieght of sin and burden. still doesnt mean we have recieved salvation.

What is grace ?

To put it simply Grace is something you give someone like a second chance. God gave us all grace a second chance instead of throwing us all out he saw fit to give us grace and an oppertunity to walk in the spirit. and with the spirit.

That still doesnt mean we have recieved salvation. as whats the point of this scripture...
[h=1]1 Thessalonians 5:8[/h] [SUP]8 [/SUP]But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

We are to hope for salvation and not asume we have it..

My question is based upon two beliefs,, First believe is people say when your saved you also recieve salvation ?

Second believe is your saved but your salvation hasnt been decided yet ?.

[h=1]Ephesians 4:30-32King James Version (KJV)[/h] [SUP]30 [/SUP]And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. ?..

Im posting a poll as i really do want to know who believes what and why without making it personal pls thanks sort of like a testimonial thread if you will..
ABSOLUTELY we recieve salvation by being baptized (fully immersed) into Christ! He gives us His Spirit and causes us to walk in His holy ways just as prophesied in Ezekiel!

"And I will put My spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and you shall keep My judgments and do them." Ezekiel 36:27

That's what salvation is, He literally saves us from our sin! Most people just wanna be "saved from the punishment of their sin".. The Lord saved me from my sin and continues to every day for it is His Spirit that lives in me now! My old man is dead and I have "put on Christ" as the holy Scriptures say :) Praise the Lord, I'm free from the sin that once polluted me!!

befor you where bornagain your soul was not dead. you didnt have the spirit so how could your spirit be dead ?.

Your soul is you the spirit is not you. the spirit decides when your saved.. the spirit decides when you recieve salvation. its not the same as being saved.

saved means rescued the start of your walk.

salvation means permantley fixed.

Ok so lets look at this.......... a horrible dicusting evil man who commits every evil act there is calls to the lord and says i believe in Jesus and i want to be a child of God..

Ok so the lord send his spirit to be with him. ?

Only a few weeks later he goes and commits evil acts,, is he going to to recieve salvation ?

I was redeemed before I ever came into existence.
So if you are asking me if I had anything to do with it? The answer is no.
After the age of accountability or after being reborn from above, would you agree that only 1/3 of us Is redeemed until JESUS comes back?
