Another Parable to chew on----- Mark 4:3-9-------- what are your thoughts on making God's Word fruitful in our lives?------ what are some of the soil problems? ------- how does this Parable apply to us?----- be sweet---- fighting with brass buckles is for the world***** Hearken: Behold, there went out a sower to sow. And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirtyfold, and some sixty, and some an hundred. And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

It's obvious what happened to the seed that fell by the wayside. In regards to the seed that fell on the stony ground, it had no depth of earth, had no root, lacked moisture, produced no fruit. The seed was never firmly rooted or established from the start.

In regards to the seed that is sown among thorns, the person hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful, produces nothing, yields nothing. It was choked out before reaching it's desired goal.

IN CONTRAST TO - the seed that fell on good soil, the person hears the word and understands it, who INDEED BEARS FRUIT with patience (perseverance) and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty. All genuine believers are fruitful, but not all are equally fruitful.

Once a person any time in their life has a moment where they decide they need Jesus because of their lifestyle and invite Jesus in. Then in no way at this moment their faith was not genuine. Once Jesus is invited he isn't leaving. Although the flesh is still weak and everyday we must follow. The seed on the stone and in the thorns. I believe at the start they truly needed Jesus. Not too many people I know asked Jesus to come in and purposely thought I will follow Jesus and the world and we will live in harmony. Even the most immature in Faith knows being a Christian is suppose to change one's life.

I think all who fall away was either to their own selfish desires or the people within the church's lack of discipleship. Disciplining can take up to a good year to help a new believer to grow good solid roots.

We must first make a fan of Jesus and then train them up to truly know what it is to follow Jesus.

Discipleship is key.

There may be four ways of hearing, just as four ways of planting; but only one of them brings fruit to completion, while the other three ways end in ruin.

"He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down." (Luke 13:6-9)

Why do so many believers neglect the Word if it is the "key" to growth...?

Why do some believers receive good council and let it fall by the wayside...?

Even the seeds that fall on the best soil, require water to grow. Just as the children of God require living water to grow.
