If one can cut through all the nonsense Christians spew in their native tongue of Christianese it is this. The righteousness we possess isn't because we are righteous. It is because Jesus said that He will view us as such if we place our faith in Him. The righteousness that only HE possesses, He will impart to us, even tho we are undeserving of it and fall short of the standard that God has made for us to be able to stand in HIS presence. If anyone thinks they can stand before God of their own accord they have completely deceived themselves.

Galatians 3:3-5 (NIV)

Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? Have you experienced so much in vain—if it really was in vain? So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?

I literally can't get past your first paragraph without being repulsed by your Christianese. Like I said to someone else virtue signaling their "purity" in this thread. Careful those flies on your wall don't land on your face.

The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
1 Tim 1:5

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2 Tim 2:22

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.
Titus 1:15

Thank you for your honesty.
You are repulsed at me quoting Paul.

You have to be very careful that you have not just become jaded.
If you no longer believe people can be cleansed and walk in purity, then surely
what Christ promises us is futile.

The whole principles of the temple were about purity and defilement.
That which is holy could be brought into His presence.

In Christ we have been purified. But the language you are saying is
Christ has not purified us at all, we are still hypocritical failed creatures.

In all honesty that is just unbelief. You do not know my purity or lack of
it, only what you project. And once you project evil onto another without
evidence that is judgementalism.

So it appears gb9, EG, Utah, wsblind also walk in unbelief.

And is your sense of impurity related to one particular sort of impurity or just in
general? It is easy to always be self condemning, which I suspect most people
are doing, unless this impurity is real spiritual lostness and habitual sin.

What I know is it is always easier to dismiss oneself from a difficult task, if you
fail by one issue or all the issues you fail.

I think it helps if we look to words of scripture. and insert ourselves into the passage as the recipient, or person being spoken to.

As an example. Titus 3: 5

Not by works of righteousness which I HAVE DONE, But BY HIS MERCY, HE SAVED ME, by the washing and new birth of the Holy Spirit.

it might be one verse, But it is clearly understandable in what it says, There should be no way to misunderstand the point. if we just take it at face value.

I was not saved by any good deeds, by any good works, or by any actions I did, even if they appeared to be works of righteousness.

I was saved by Gods mercy.

Now take the rest of scripture. And make it agree with this passage, and you will not be deceived, because scripture can not contradict itself..

God can not say today, I was saved by his mercy alone.. Then another day say I may be saved in the future depending on what work I do, or how many works of righteousness I do..for he would be contradictory, and we can not trust a person who contradicts themselves.

Amen, Again, We should insert ourselves.

Am I a fool? by doing the very thing Paul said? By claiming I am saved originally by the spirit. but must maintain that salvation (perfect it) by works of the flesh?

Sirk - I doubt what you are talking about is anything but your own rebellion and
self condemnation.

When Paul says this

You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.
1 Thess 2:10

It was just christianise
Or this

But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.
Eph 5:3

You might become anti-christian and against the core principles of walking in
righteousness and love.

Walking in the Spirit and being loving to others is not a hard task when you know
you are truly loved, and love those you come into contact with.

But maybe your torment is deeper than this, or else why do you hate this language.

Thank you for your honesty.
You are repulsed at me quoting Paul.
yet once again, You did not listen to a thing he said nor do you understand what he is repulsed at..

he said he can't passed your first paragraph.

There is no quote from paul in that paragraph.. So now you once again prove you do not understand what repulsed him, but are being dishonest.

So it appears gb9, EG, Utah, wsblind also walk in unbelief.
and of course, although I have ignored everything you have said today. You could not miss a chance to take your misunderstanding, and lack of knowledge of what a person was trying to say, and had to attack me in the process Do you not realise, by continuing to do this, You prove everything everyone says about you is true?.

What saddens me with the attitude expressed here, when God calls you to
walk righteously you are calling this false teaching and christianise.

This is so anti-christ, it strikes at the core of what holiness is all about.

In all the revivals a call to repentance is hollow, because we are all filthy rotten
people who will rot with faith in Christ, but that changes nothing.

And when we were young children we just were who we were, not pretending.
Purity is equally this innocent.

What defiles us is what comes from our hearts, our words and actions not things
that we eat or where we live. Jesus calls us to purify our hearts and think on good
wholesome things.

How am I sharing this with believers who claim to know the word of the Lord?
Maybe they feel love is jaded and nothing from the heart matters, it is all
words and religion, with no real reality.

its really sad that your righteousness is propped up by your opinion and condemnation of the unrighteousness of others. You're just like the people Jesus came and rebuked.

Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.
Matt 5:8

If you do not understand this you do not know the Living God.
Repentance means a commitment to living in purity.

I have never been a sinless perfectionist, nor do I believe in counting like
a check list success and failure. The whole point is if you are born into
the Kingdom you know this commitment.

I feel the type of condemnation you heap upon me, as if I have done some
horrible crime. But all this confirms is there are so many unresolved issues in
your life, somehow giving me a hard time helps appease you.

The problem with this behaviour is it shuts people from sharing both their
struggles and their victories, and there are such real things as victories.

In the end you get what you praise and loose that which you condemn.
So if you condemn people who walk in love and righteousness and uplift
those who parade their failure as being honest, that is what you will get.
So if I am attracted to another woman other than my wife, commit adultery,
get divorced, destroy many lives, that is better than being faithful, living
in purity and love.

Now these choices are not vain examples, but ones people willing choose to
walk down, and your preaching encourages one or the other.

Nice argument, but does not work. I am obviously not jaded or downplay the heart.
The heart matters almost above anything else. Who you really are, and walking from the
heart in Christ is to be in the Kingdom.

Peter.........................It was your argument against "us." All I did was turn YOUR argument against you.

You really can't see this?

It comes from my other post. You did the EXACT thing that you were "offended" by.

Sirk - I am what I am before the Lord without reference to anyone else.

What you appear to be saying is very humanist. Men are natural beasts,
victims of their lusts, and God cannot ever redeem them.

Maybe that is your experience, it is not mine. Jesus is the healer who transforms
us and our thinking. But if anyone shuts Him out, ofcourse nothing changes and it
just repeats.

The parable of the vine, is all about abiding in Him, because He is our life and truth.
But this is just christianise, like being healed, or love, or secure in our salvation, or
worthy, or Jesus being our Lord and Saviour, or to Him we owe everything, or
through the cross we have forgiveness of our sins.

All I can share is the wonder of what He has done for me. It is up to each individual
to seek Him out and walk in His ways. There is no group magic, or definitive outcome,
just this walk, and if you walk it, He will be with you, Amen and Halleluyah.

I am not offended. How can I be offended, we are obviously taking different perspectives.
You appear to be the rabble wanting to pull down those who dare to suggest Christ transforms
people.

It is not something you can turn round, because I am not a rabble trying to pull down those
who are holding on a truth that is so profound it is impossible to believe.

I am simply sharing my experience, which is just too much for some to take.

Well it testifies to the work done in your hearts, or lack of it.

How about trying to hash out the different perspectives then? At least find a bit of common ground?

And then we have a starting point.

If i need to explain myself, I will try. I am just trying to go from a point. because I can't follow all the rabbit trails you send me down.

And that is not mean on my part. I am a point by point kinda guy.

funny that we don't see much humanity out of you. Your shortcomings etc. you're sure quick to point out the ones you think I possess. I guess you are a completely spiritually evolved being that lives in a monastery with no outside pressure or stress in your life. I don't see your failings but God sure does. I hope He has mercy on you for denying the putrid stench of your flesh.

Nope. We are children of the most high God right now. I think you should read the story of the prodigal and consider how much you sound like the brother.
