The Lord blesses those who are sexually chaste, sober, humble, love the Lord with all their hearts, minds, and souls, and love their neighbors as themselves. He is merciful and forgiving to those who repent of their sin. When we repent, our worries dissipate.

IOW, the Lord blesses those like you see yourself to be. Right?

No, the Lord blesses those who obey his commandments. Or to look at it another, we stay out of trouble by obeying the commandments.

This is Religion 101. The problem is that few people want to study Religion 101. They want to move on to Religion 501 or Religion 1001. You can't understand Religion 501 or Religion 1001 until you've figured out Religion 101.

You're absolutely right, that's all religion.

If you resist the temptation to sin, he blesses you. If I resist the temptation to sin, he blesses me. This isn't very complicated.

And you see yourself as one who resists the temptation to sin, right?

I am not part of the equation.
Oh. Okay. So you're here telling others what to do and not do to be blessed by God, but you aren't doing and not doing those things yourself??

I'm trying very hard to obey the Lord's commandments. It brings me great peace.

Oh. So it's just trying to keep the Lords commandments that brings great peace. Got it.

What would you add? The Pharisees are famous for making the path much more difficult than it really is.
I would add this small piece of advice for you. If you are really concerned about others actually keeping the Lords commandments, don't point them to the commandments, point them to Jesus. All you are doing right now is making an appeal to the flesh and encouraging others to somehow control the flesh by means of the flesh.

What gives?

Peace comes from understanding that when we trust Christ to save us from our sins we need no longer fear Gods angry wrath on sin.

We do struggle daily to walk in the path of righteousness. We still do not fear Gods wrath on sin because of the blood of Christ.

I am sharing what Jesus has taught me. Isn't that the purpose of this forum?

Happiness does not result from "a nice house,4 new cars, great kids, and a pretty, nice wife.lives on the golf course, goes on nice vacations, has lots of friends, is respected in the community and has a very very nice job." Happiness results from obeying the Lord. That is because the Lord knows what will make us happy.

Well, yes, you struggle daily to walk in the path of righteousness. That was sort of the point of the whole thing.
