Hello all,

I would like to do my best to start the equivalent of a Wednesday night/Sunday morning class at church. I am basing the format off of something a church I attended as a kid where the subject material was based solely off questions that were submitted by the attendees of the class. I want to do this one, to help me study the Bible more, to have a good discussion about issues, and to work on my teaching skills as I would like to start a class like this when I move back home.

A little about me. I was born and raised in the Lord's Church and still follow the teachings of solely the Bible. I believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God and everything we need to know for our salvation is in its pages.

So without further ado, let's jump right in. Please ask any questions you want. It can be anything scriptural related, it can be anything about the Lord's Church and why we believe what we believe, do what we do, etc. Any question is a fair question. I will choose 1-2 a week, depending on depth and complexity of the question and post a new thread to keep the discussion going. I encourage everyone to ask whatever is on their minds.

Thanks and looking forward to this!

Ok, so let me flesh this out.

A guy just joined today, and we don't know him, or anything about him...
and he equally doesn't know us, or anything about us...
and the FIRST and ONLY thing he did was create a CLASS to TEACH US THE BIBLE.

And... his name is EGO.

: )

I Love this place.

Give the guy a break! His profile says 28, and maybe he is just a bit clueless about maturity and wisdom?

Just what I want! A young man that I don't know anything about, searching the Bible to find answers to questions I have about God? Jesus? Not sure.

I think I will stay with my Bible, and maybe add some commentaries, scholarly books, and probably prayer and following the HS.

I do hope you get some questions. You might want to run the answers by me or a more mature Christian in the forum, before you post the answers, ok!

PS. What is the Lord's Church? Is this a denomination, independent, or a cult?

Your favorite Scripture is:

Lamentations 3:19-22

Seriously?

May I ask what special interest it holds for you?

19) Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20 .) My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
21 .) This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 .) It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Were you not just here a few days ago under a different Screen Name?

My Question: Who are or what do the 5+1 husbands represent?; Jesus teaching the Samaria women at the well (John 4:).

Why wait till you move back home? Start a study group right where you are.

Here's a couple of good questions for you. How long was Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden? Where was the Garden of Eden located and where is it now?

The answer to both questions are covered in the scriptures. I'll leave it to you to find the answers.

Hi Ego! Welcome to CC.

Is the Lord's Church a denomination? What does the Lord's Church
believe? I think it's great that you want to study the bible more.

It would probably be better to actually get into a bible study to learn before trying to teach don't you think?

And actually if there's a topic you want to discuss, you're free to begin a new thread and I'm sure you'll have others respond to any discussion you bring.

Hi Eqo; What do you suppose brought about the condition where most Christians believe that Jesus will return to gather the church before the tribulation while Jesus said that He would return to gather the church after the tribulation?

Sorry, but you are wrong, studying Jesus may give you understanding.
You can get so ridiculous with that nonsense that you will even convince yourself the number of the loaves and fishes had to mean something... and the number of fish caught in the nets.... and the number of figs on a tree... and the kind of bird represented at Jesus' baptism.... and then it will even be the size of Jesus' sandals.

And all of that hocus-pocus comes from religious invention of men, in order to build some traditions.
