Nonessentials’ of the Christian faith?
Well, the essentials are the things you need to know so as not to get a good spanking from the Lord, somewhere along the way. The non-essentials would be everything else.

You still didn't post some specific non-essentials that would be included in "everything else."

Why do you think it fine to deliberately misrepresent what I said?
We assume you believe doctrine is not essential to the Christian faith because haven't named a specific non-essential Christian doctrine.

When Christians speak of the non-essentials of the faith it is within the confines and context of salvation. The saying that is often spoken of is that the doctrine "neither saves you, nor condemns you." However, when it comes to essential doctrines this has to do with salvation and being reconciled/justified before God.

While many doctrines may fall under the umbrella of non-essential (for salvation) it doesn't negate their importance in this life as being essential for daily living. One might use giving, as an example of sowing and reaping. It is an important topic, but it is not essential for salvation. However, it does play an important role in the quality of life, not only in terms of blessings but just joy in blessing others.

So while there are essential and non-essential doctrines, they all are important in actuality. Only some might be called a necessity, in so far as salvation is concerned.
Well done.

This one has actually become almost an essential doctrine.......

"Every head bowed, Every eye closed."

And Jesus never said it, nor did it.... even once.

Now that we know what the essentials of the Christian faith are, I think we all agree; people, who do not believe all the essentials of the Christian faith, go to hell. Thank you everyone for answering the question .

I need you to be more specific than that. I need you to give me an example of a specific doctrine which is nonessential to the Christian faith.
Hmm, an interesting statement. Why do you NEED people to give you examples of a specific doctrine that is non-essential? Isn't that kinda weird? Do you know the definition of Doctrine? And why do you NEED to have these? This is a bit suspicious in my opinion.

Doctrine(Gk. didaskalia [didaskaliva]). Act of teaching or that which is taught. The use of the term in Scripture, however, is broader than a simple reference to information passed on from one person to another or from one generation to the next. Christianity is a religion founded on a message of good news rooted in the significance of the life of Jesus Christ. In Scripture, then, doctrine refers to the entire body of essential theological truths that define and describe that message ( 1 Tim 1:10 ; 4:16 ; 6:3 ; Titus 1:9 ). The message includes historical facts, such as those regarding the events of the life of Jesus Christ ( 1 Cor 11:23 ). But it is deeper than biographical facts alone. As J. Gresham Machen pointed out years ago, Jesus' death is an integral historical fact but it is not doctrine. Jesus' death for sins ( 1 Cor 15:3 ) is doctrine. Doctrine, then, is scriptural teaching on theological truths.

Assumptions are like..............well, you know..........Does that mean you will be leaving us?

Now that we know what the essentials of the Christian faith are, I think we all agree; people, who do not believe all the essentials of the Christian faith, go to hell. Thank you everyone for answering the question .

I don't think "end times stuff" is a non-essential - if the "end times stuff" is wrong the gospel being "spread" is wrong.
Actually, out of all the variations of End Times, it has to be... only one is right or no one understood it right. With that, I don't think whoever gets it wrong is going to be punished eternally in Hell for getting it wrong. (And, of course. I'm right. lol)

Do you believe a person has to believe all essential doctrines to get to heaven.
Actually, the goal isn't "going to heaven." It's seeking/following/devoting ourselves to God.

And I do think it's okay for a little while to have the essentials wrong. After all, how many of us were born again and given complete understanding of God in a flash? I spent a bit of time being whipped around discovering what I thought of God was wrong. (I was raised a Catholic, so... there you go.) Others are convicted in a part of the world where no one even claims to be Christians, so they know nothing about what it means to be one. A found Bible could have done it for them. With that limited knowledge, do we really expect that person to get God is triune right away? There are many reasons we might get even the essentials down right immediately, but, if God gives us the time on earth and we take his word seriously, we're going to find other believers and start learning the details, too.
