1. Why did Jesus say his followers must hate their families? Surely, when the son of God said "hate" he meant "hate," didn't he? Why would the son of God confuse us by using hyperbole? How could the examples of Luke 9:59-62, even if allegorical, be hyperbole anyway? Jesus clearly called a man to the irresponsible, disrespectful action of leaving his father, implying that he was not even to attend his funeral, and he called another to leave his family without even saying farewell or letting them know he was deserting them
You have to try to understand something. And put this into your mind and every day daily thoughts. The MOST important thing in life is where are you going to go for Eternity. EVERYTHING else is vanity.
Your Mom, Dad, Wife, Husband, Kids, Brothers, Sisters, Houses, Lands, Job, Vehicles, EVERYTHING, is vanity. NONE of those things can or will SAVE you. If you love any of those MORE than Jesus Christ, you are not worthy of Him. Anything you put before Jesus Christ is your idol, no matter what that is, it is your idol? He was saying Hate in comparison to Himself. LOVE JESUS, hate EVERYTHING else. This is not saying we should Hate people at all, but is a specific reference to the comparison that we should have towards Jesus Christ. If you Love ________ more than Jesus, they you would have been better off to have hated ________ when comparing that to Jesus. Someone who LOVES his Family, may not follow Jesus Christ because of their family. This is the reason Jesus said what He did. if you Love them more than Jesus, you are not right with Him.
You say "Jesus clearly called a man to the irresponsible, disrespectful action of leaving his father, implying that he was not even to attend his funeral, and he called another to leave his family without even saying farewell or letting them know he was deserting them"
You are looking at this in a carnal way, and not a spiritual way. Jesus was making a point here, about what is important and what is NOT important in this life. His Point is "HE is the ONLY way, HE is what is important" If God asks you to sell all that you have and follow Him, would you obey God, or think, why is He asking me to do that, i worked all my life for that STUFF. That is not FAIR that God would ask me to do that. This is carnal thinking. To see the big picture of things, is to realize all that STUFF is vanity, his dad, vanity, his burial, vanity, him letting them know he is going, vanity. Jesus was conveying the point what is important and what is NOT important. If God who created the entire universe told me to pack up my stuff and go to California RIGHT NOW. Would i then say to Him, OK, But first let me _____
fill in the blank_____. No matter what you fill in the blank with, you are in fact telling God of the Universe to "WAIT, until i do these things, Then i will do what you ask" God tells you to do something, you just DO IT. PERIOD. This is the point Jesus was making. Those who are Spiritual understand this, those who are yet carnal, will only see what they see through carnal eyes.
2. Why did Jesus, by his own admission, break the Sabbath law (John 5:16-18)? This puts the lie to the Christian idea that the perfect Jesus fulfilled the whole Law, and therefore was a suitable unblemished sacrifice for our sins.
What you don't understand is when the Son of God said
Mar_2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
and
Luk_6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
That God created the Sabbath for man. What? Do you think God actually needed to rest on the 7th Day after creating the Earth. lol. as if God gets tired. He rested on the 7th day for an example of what the Israelites should do also. God made the Sabbath. So if Jesus wants to break the Sabbath, which He did on several occasions according to the statutes and ordinances of the Old Testament, that HE set up in the past. He is the LORD of the SABBATH, He is the creator of the
SABBATH DAY, if He chooses to break it, He commits no sin at all. Remember Jesus is there to get rid of the statutes and ordinances and the
Old Testament Laws.
3. Why did Jesus say the ruler's daughter was not dead? (Matt 9:18-25; Luke 8:41-56) Either Jesus lied, or he performed no miracle, but the context clearly shows that it was understood to be a miracle.[/QUOTE]
Again, you are looking at this with carnal eyes and not spiritual. Having a carnal mind it is not very likely you will be able to understand spiritual matters. But that i fail not to tell you the Truth, i will answer you.
The
Spirit that is within us, is not dead, nor can it ever be killed, nor will it ever die. That is why that spirit will either be in Heaven for all eternity or in hell for all eternity. Because it can't be killed or cease to exist, the spirit that is inside of you is immortal. When Jesus said what He did, He was not referring to her fleshly body, but to the girls Spirit, which indeed was not dead. What He said was not a lie, only what you think he meant, is where the contradiction lies.
Jesus said "I will destroy this Temple and rebuild it in 3 days" Carnal minds thought He was referring to the actual Building that was the TEMPLE. Spiritual minds know He was referring to His own body and not the Building. Do you now see and understand? or still blind concerning this matter?
Feel Free to continue to ask your questions from your Carnal standpoint, and i will continue to answer them with Spiritual answers. i perceive in my Spirit that you started the other Thread not because you are Outraged, but because you wanted people on CC to actually go to those sites.
