I think a vision of hell would do it for me. I think that hell is so terrible we cannot even imagine here in our world. It is horrible that so many people are going there, even as we write.

I don't know what part of Canada you are in, but it is going to be 15C tomorrow here in Calgary!
I'm on Vancouver Island - 6 degree today and rainy.

As for these books on hell, I had a very vivid and scary vision of hell, when I was on LSD once when I was a teenager. Sadly, it didn't move me at all towards God. It was like, I knew hell was real, the vision was probably similar to hell, (or I really saw hell!) but, it had no power over me. Or, perhaps the devil had me in his grip at that time, and didn't need to do anything.

I needed to hear about the love of God, through many people, including reading the Bible before God reached a point in softening my hard heart enough to save me.

I suppose there is the carrot and the stick. I had just never heard of anyone getting saved because God gave them a vision of hell.
I was looking for the answer to life the universe and everything anywhere but in Christ. I was fortunate to "bump" into a missionary in Kathmandu doing medical work with the hills tribes, his "life testimony" was impressive.

I haven't heard anyone come to the Lord that way either. It makes me think of the scripture that God draws us with lovingkindness, not with fear of hell.

Romans 2:4
Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

Interesting what we may do as teenagers. I was with a bad crowd for a couple of years. I was offered a LSD hit of 4way windowpane. I did not do the math. Guess that is actually 4 doses. lol Chugged down 3/4 of a Qt Bacardi 151. First time I ever drank that stuff. Amazing I did not OD that night. It was a very wild experience that night indeed. LOL

The womb is hell?

I was quite comfortable in there in me early days..
That is because the Womb is also the "Kingdom of God Within"...

Luke 17:21
"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you"

But of course the haters here will only see my previous post and thus... well you know.

Christians gonna Christian.

Obviously there are some folks in here that seem to have no fear of hell so I have a question. Who in here believes in a literal hell as in a place of torment for the lost?
From my "theological" perspective hades and death went *poof* in 70 AD with the deconstruction of the old heaven and earth and the end of the Mosaic covenant.

To each their own experience. God actually talked to me when I had my salvation experience. The first thing He said to me was," you must accept My Son as your Savior", and the next thing He did was to explain that heaven and hell were real. The NT sermons were, turn to God and save yourself from the destruction to come. Just my thought, how can one really appreciate being saved if they do not clearly recognize what they are saved from? Jesus died to save us from hell.

I think that hell is so terrible we cannot even imagine here in our world.
Right because billions of children being molested, tortured, sacrificed, beaten, abused, murdered etc. on a daily basis is just plain meaningless compared to "Hell".

My how the Church has blinded people as to what Hell really is.

You folks must live real comfortable lives to be able to look down at the World from your High horses and say to yourselves "sucks to be them!"

"Oh well.. not my problem"

Or worse...

Not even give it a second thought.

Yep...

Christians gonna Christian.

That is not what the Bible says about why Jesus came to save us.

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matt 1:21

He actually died to reconcile man and things in heaven and earth

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

23 minutes in hell
23 is the number for Death in the Bible.

It's also a popular Occult number... probably for that same reason.

Also the number of Chromosome Pairs in DNA.

Hell... A bad punishment place for the powerful fallen angels. How much more worse can it be for weak mortal men and women
to be held in the same place? My mind can not even conceive of such a place. I could only hope that my soul/spirit is a bit stronger then how I am in this world. That is if I should ever end up in such a place.

Jesus died to save us from hell.
Jesus died to save you from the second death, with a promise of a life more abundant through Him. Hell is the grave, and we are all going there. At the end of the age, following the resurrection and judgement of all, death and hell will be thrown into the lake of fire.

Whether he actually went to Hades or not, we do have information about two who did go to Hades, which is the rich man and Lazarus. Unfortunately, we have those who attempt to change it into a parable in order to get rid of it as being a literal event that Jesus was revealing us.
Fear is the beginning of wisdom. Don't rest there. Move to apprehend His great love for you.

He died for you out of His great love for you. Perfect love casts out fear :)

Has anyone read the book by Bill Wiese or heard his testimony?
How about Mary Baxter? Or any other stories about hell?
Blain has a few times mentioned having a vision of hell...
