IF you do not realize that the rebirth took place in your spirit then it can be confusing to your mind worshiping GOD standing in front of a physical mirror.

. I think the way you put it the first time makes more sense.

Ummm....the whole point of Jesus coming to earth was to make the imperfect perfect thru Himself for whoever believed on Him. That right there makes the most sense and is the most biblical of the three. Lol

Now about that dress issue...No. I won't ask. (Was going to ask if you wearing anything at all.) But I won't.

Admittedly not been through all 10 pages so someone else may have already said something similar / explained where I'm going wrong, but my view has been something like:

We're not under the law as such anymore, but it's an ideal. We all end up sinning somehow (hence "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"). It isn't that we're going to get punished for failing at it anymore, but rather that we should try to lead good lives according to how we have been taught, and that Jesus is there to save us when we have done something wrong.

It's okay stan. He will get himself kicked out, just as he always does.

I know moderation is lax here but if he keeps getting kicked out for the same thing then he should stay kicked out. There's no room for that type of innuendo on a Christian forum.

It's nice to meet you MR.
It actually turns into much more than that!
He begins to work in us to grow us in virtue, to increase our humility, to give us victory over the enemies in us that torment us and others, like pride that leads to anger and hurt feelings, self will, selfish ambition. He causes us to stop murdering in our heart.
I can't explain how He does it, but when I stopped trying to be good and just trusted Him to do it, He began to give me great victories over these tormentors in me.

I agree. He has problems though. I just ignore him and pray for him.

Well to quote Rudyard Kipling: "You're a better man than I am Gunga Din".

Oh, Kipling! I read a poem by him that I absolutely fell in love with and you just reminded me that I wanted to look for more by him! Have you read...I think it's called The Gods of the Copybook?

I grew up with his poem IF on my wall as a teenager and that's about all I really knew of him besides this quote.

Here's a good one for all the cigar smokers out there.....

A million surplus Maggies are willing to bear the yoke; And a woman is only a woman, but a good Cigar is a Smoke. Light me another Cuba—I hold to my first-sworn vows.

And from the poem I read by him : and the burnt fools bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the fire.

If I had to sum the poem up, it's about...social "experimenting".

But if you read it, it helps to know what copybooks were. They were books that had a quote at the top of the page, then the child would write it over and over again underneath to practice writing, penmanship, etc. But they would also be like...wise quotes - bible verses, adages and such, to teach them something too.
