aside form the fact that God himself said to Moses...no one can see God and live...meaning anyone on Earth...

Jesus when He was on earth told his deciples... "you believe because you have seen me" blessed are those who don't see me and yet believe.... this is in essence what faith in God really is.

Hebrews 11:1 faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God

so faith is believing in something (in this case we believe in God) and having such hope that nothing in this world can shake the foundation of your faith in God....and even though you can't see Him He is so real because you believe in Him...in His Word and you have assurance that Jesus is watching over "us" and we will one day be with Him

there is also a scripture that says...if you have the faith of a mustard seed...you can say to this mountain...be removed and cast into the sea
now God who is the author of the Bible for it is His Word... is what makes our faith real... and it is written in the bible

without faith it is impossble to please God...

I could have written only that last line and it would've been enough...but the Holy Spirit led me to that verse just now.

one last thing I want say that we should have more faith than a mustard seed...we should be strong believers
for ... "where there are 2 or 3 gather together in "Jesus" name there is "God" in the midst of them.

so if all the world were corrupt but 2 or 3 people...God still wins for God is omnipotent...but we need faith

if all in the world are corrupt totally...God wins...He is still omnipotent...God is Love

We will not see God and All His glory until we see him in the New Jerusalem. The Christians destination is not heaven.

You are 38. So you get to enjoy life living in this wilderness with Him as your guide. Now you get to lead others to the Lord. Your journey is nearing its end, if you live as long as the average.

2 Corinthians 4.17
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

2 timothy 2:14 study to show thyself approved before God
2 timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine for reproof for instruction in righteousness

Stan can you please direct me to the scripture you're referring to when you say we shall not see God in all His glory till the New Jerusalem.... just so we're on the same page

and also...I'd like the scripture to back up what happens as Christians past and present pass on

I was taught not to believe until you have seen the scripture with your own eyes and it goes with what the other person has stated concerning God and His Word

I don't understand when you say my "journey is nearing its end" as Christians we must be positive... if I live... I live for God and do "His" will not my own...and if I die...I get eternal life in Heaven as my reward... yes this life is temperal... but when God created us... He gave us life as a "gift" God is Great and greatly to be praised ... His majesty reigns on the throne forevermore.... so as for death... I am not negative about... I prefer to think of it as a "gift"

John 1:18
Luke 16:22, Luke 23:43, Rev 22:1-5.

The fact is that the entirety of the New Testament tells us what God holds in the future for believers. The New Jerusalem ended her life is the Believers destiny not a spiritual realm where God lives but a Physical Realm where are glorified bodies will live with God for eternity. Paradise is and always has been the destination of believers to await Jesus's return for his people. Those who believed the Covenant God made with Abraham are part of those believers and will return which eases from Paradise and all will be resurrected at that time. 1 Cor 15: 50-54 and 1 Thess 4:13-18

Ok. Didn't mean to be negative. Supplied scripture. Since when is leaving this world and being with the Lord - end of our life here onearth – which is commonly referred to as a journey, a negative thing? Some oflife’s negatives can be turned into a positive. Just read Ecclesiastes 7.2. Houseof mourning.
But I didn't intend to be negative.
Philippians 1 Paul spoke of his desire to be the Lord. When? When he would die.
Sorry you took it such as a negative.
Just trying to help with your question.

The only things I get in heaven I don't get now are healthy body and no more sin. I get the good deal already thought. I get God on my side.

That actually happens here when Jesus returns, plus you also get clarity of thought.

as I recall Jesus told the man on the cross next to Him...."today you will be with me in Paradise....doesn't that mean we go to heaven as we die....

what do you mean by "the Christians destination is not heaven.... yes I've heard of the New Jerusalem and don't know enough about it ... but I also heard the scripture you quoted Luke 23:43 (see above)

can you tell me the scripture that describes where we'll be when we die...I think that would be important for me to know because it is a common thing for people to say a person is in heaven after he/she dies

First of all please select the reply with quote button at the bottom of the post when responding to someone.
Secondly I gave you the scripture about Paradise in Luke 16:22. This was common knowledge among the Jews of the day and is reinforced by John 1:18. Paradise and heaven are not the same place. Paradise is where Believers go to await the return of Jesus and Heaven is where God lives. They are not one in the same.
As far as the Christian destination is concerned, that is dealt with in Rom 6:23 and many other places in the New Testament.

When we repent of our sin, peace comes over us - heaven - and we then understand the Lord's purpose.

you speak truth resurrection for Jesus is the "Prince of Peace" and the Holy Spirit is our "comforter" spoken by Jesus Himself while He was yet alive on the Earth....

if we repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.... we shall be saved by His mercy and grace... and the Blood Jesus shed on Calvary shal wash away our sin

"Why do we have to wait till heaven to see God in all His glory, in Spirit and truth?"

This is my view...

Have you ever heard of the Double Slit Experiment?

There is a phenomenon called 'Wave Function Collapse'.

I believe the Wave Function is the veil that separates us (the Material World) from God (The Spirit or Heavenly World).

We cannot see God's face because the Wave Function collapses before we can see it.

Jesus was sent as the Mediator, or One who can travel between Wave and Particle.

One day this 'Restrainer' will be taken out of the way and that Man of Sin will be revealed...

2 Thessalonians 2:3
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition"

BTW...

Wave Function Collapse happens as fast as the twinkling of an eye or the act of observation...

1 Corinthians 15:52
"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed"
