    Default Heaven and New Jerusalem

I believe you will find that heaven is what our lives turn in to when we repent of our sin. I suspect there will be those who protest vigorously, but for those who have ears to hear, try it, if you haven’t already. Another name for it would be New Jerusalem.

New jerusalem is an actual city that will come down from heaven as stated in Relevation. Our lives cannot turn into heaven in this fallen world. Repentance puts us at peace but doesn't turn our lives into heaven. As Christ said you will go through trials & tribulations. As it says in Psalm 55:22 - Cast your burden on the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
    kaylagrl likes this.
Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Acts 3:19 - Repent therefore and turn to God, so that your sins may be blotted out, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:11 - Put on the whole armor of God, so that you can stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

Heaven is peace of mind. Peace of mind results when we repent of our sin. It is the Lord's gift to us.

True, we will never literally know Heaven on earth.

Heaven is repentance. It is a well kept secret because nobody wants to repent.

    Hey there again 33.
This doesn't make sense to me.
My life has gotten harder since I met Him.
The first christians repented and got hell on earth rather than their lives being heaven. They were tortured and killed.
It's true that I ask all the time - where on earth would I be right now if I hadn't had God through all the rough times that came after I met Him, but my life has not become heaven. It's become a constant pressing and trial and a lot of pain at giving up the world and dealing with my family thinking I'm a loser and a fool.

If you don't join with people in the things you used to care about (and you don't, because you lose the desire for your former distractions and dissipations) then they dismiss and discard you. That's hard to deal with. And at the same time, extreme pressure comes from them to drag you back to the world. And you sit there and think that God has taken everything from you and at first He replaced it with Himself and you were like...in a honeymoon phase of bliss. But then He goes silent to you and you seem to have lost even Him and are sitting there with not even the one thing you gladly gave it all up for.

No, my experience has not been that my life became heaven.
    prove-all and Magenta like this.

Doesn't make sense? How could it be more simple?

Luk 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Luk 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

It is true that the kingdom of God comes without observation,we will not see the kingdom of God on earth as a physical dominion,at least not until the millennial reign, and the kingdom of God is within you when you receive the Spirit, for instead of a physical dominion the kingdom of God is displayed through the saints to the world by the Holy Spirit, them acting like Christ.

But the New Jerusalem is an actual place, and the saints final destination for all eternity, and the kingdom of God in the spiritual.

Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Joh 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
Joh 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Rev 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
    Rev 21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
Rev 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
Rev 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Rev 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Rev 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
Rev 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
Rev 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Rev 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
Rev 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
Rev 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

It is obvious that the New Jerusalem is a real place that is spiritual, the place that Jesus went to prepare for the saints that where He is at the saints may also be there,a new heaven, and a new earth, where sin has never been, and sin will never be,and the 12 tribes of Israel, and the 12 apostles of the Lamb, are written in that city, that does not need light, for God in the glorified body of the man Christ Jesus, the throne of God and the Lamb, will shine through that glorified body, and light the New Jerusalem.

Anyone who is a Christian already repented of their basic incorrect beliefs.... and with God's help, the only repentance they will experience will be toward deeper understanding of God as the years go by as they repent of initial misconceived ideas of God.

No. We don't suddenly become perfect when we accept Jesus. We accept Jesus and then begin a journey to perfection.

resurrection33 im new to the forum and have seen you make this statement in a few other threads as well, could you specify what "brand" of christianity if any you follow? I havent heard this taught in any protestant, restoration or catholic denomination.

You can PM me if you dont wanna announce it to the world here, but im just curious to know, mostly because of the gnostic undertone im reading (could be misreading so sorry if i did that, no offense!)

Changing your mind about what or who is able to save you (repenting) has nothing to do with becoming perfect.
