2 Pe. 1:1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

Vs 1 Peter identifies Jesus as God and Savior, vs 2 Peter identifies Jesus independent of God.
Outside the Trinity we have polytheism.

If I call someone my sister and my best friend, are they suddenly two separate people?

The deity of Christ is established in a number of verses such as:

Mat 3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Isa 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Lord in Isaiah is Yehovah.

How does this apply to the OP?

No, it certainly can't!

"The one article "tou" with "Theou" and "sooteeros" requires precisely as with "tou kuriou heemoon kai sooteeros Ieesou Christou" (of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ), one person, not two, in 2 Peter 1v11."

So does the Old Testament "He shall be called wonderful counselor, mighty God, prince of peace." In order to be a prince you have to be the son of a king. Now unlike us, who are physically of our mother and father, Jesus is only of the Father. Therefore, as Colossians one states, ALL the fullness of the Father is in the Son- "all" would include "Deity". Yes, Jesus is God. There is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Father Himself calls Jesus "God" in Hebrews 1:9 I believe. And in John 1:1 it says Jesus was with God, and that Jesus was God.

There are so many biblical proofs that Jesus is God the Son. In Revelation John worshipped the angel,
but the angel immediately corrected him sharply- that only God can be worshipped. Jesus also turn to Satan in the wilderness and sharply said "Worship the Lord your God serve Him ONLY!" Yet in Matthew 28:17, when the apostles worshipped Him, Jesus did not correct them, why? Because they weren't wrong- Jesus is God.

Jesus was humble, but He could not lie, when backed into a corner He said yes, He was the Christ the Son of the Living God. And when arrested He said "I Am" (not I am he- like some mistranslations say. It was not the meaning "yeah I'm the guy your looking for" that made the soldiers suddenly drop to thier knees, it was the meaning when Moses was at the burning bush and asked Who he should say He is, and God said "I Am"

To deny the Deity of Christ is to deny Christ Himself. To deny Christ is to deny God Himself. To deny God Himself is to guarantee that the person will inherit eternal damnation.

To deny the Holy Trinity is to deny the Holy Spirit and the Divinity of Christ..............(see above)

The true punishment for these denials is eternal damnation.

(my two cents)

i see vs 1 identifying two, Father and Son, not one being as both beings.

He himself went on ahead and bowed down to the ground seven times as he approached his brother.

1 Chronicles 29:20
And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king.

There's a lot of translations out there in Bible land, some say it better than others.

SIMON PETER, a servant and legate of Jesus the Messiah, to those who have obtained equally precious faith with us, through the righteousness of Our Lord and Redeemer, Jesus the Messiah;

May grace and peace abound to you through the recognition of our Lord Jesus the Messiah,

1COR. 8:6.
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him;
and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him.

JOHN 10:37.
If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

12:26.
If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be:
if any man serve Me, him will Father honour.

MARK 12:29-30.
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the Commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind,
and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

we must serve One God...

May grace and peace abound to you through the recognition of our Lord Jesus the Messiah,
but the literal Greek is 'our God and Savior Jesus Christ'
