On my daily walks when he and I are able to speak and be with each other in a very unique way i can't do any other way he often times will teach me using analogies and one of them was put in my heart about our eyes. Our eyes need both light and darkness to be able to see if it's to dark we are blind and only see darkness but if it's to bright then our eyes fade and we become blind, this analogy came to me when I was asking God about us human vs angels and demons.

To my understanding angels and demons are either good or evil light or darkness there is no in between your either an angel or a demon your either in heaven or hell, but we humans seem to be unique as we bare both light and darkness in us even when we are saved and then when this analogy was put in my heart I wondered if there was maybe a reason for these things
You should try to get hold of the collected works of Saint John of the Cross, or at least Dark Night of the Soul. It is helpful in that pain to read someone who understands what you're going through.

I had the same sort of thing as you, in which He showed me that it was a fast in spirit that He put me on during those times, removing my bread and water.

This discussion on grace seems to always point to a context of salvation.

Once saved there seems to be an ignoring of sanctification.

You mean Jesus saves us and then just ignores us?

Now i am not at the point in faith where i rely of (feeling) him but the connection itself seemed to not be there at all, but this kind of storm comes every now and then with me and it's the worst kind of storm for me in particular because i can't stand being away from him i can't even spend more than three days away from him without missing him but these storms are a necessity for me because it forces me to have faith and to believe in him all the more and it forces me to find him else where than cc.
Heads up on feeling God, Blain.

When I was young in the Lord, I always felt God. It was like living at home with him. As the years went by, it became more like I moved into my own place, but went home to visit every weekend. (This is an analogy, so don't expect too much literalism in the words.) I felt him sometimes but no longer the constantness of that feeling.

Now, it's more of a knowledge that he is always here without the feeling of it. Sort of that sense that he's just a phone call away.

I panicked at the change when it first started happening, but God kind of told me, (and I really don't hear God, but I do get his waves of now-get-this-right-Lynn sense often enough that I know it's him teaching me these things), "The whole purpose of me changing you is that you grow to trust me more and more. Trust by the knowledge. Trust from the past experiences. Trust as you're going through the valleys. Because I'm always here with you, even if it's not a feeling. Trust me!"

Nothing changed in his relationship with me. He seems to prefer we draw upon our relationship with him in the long haul, rather than that I-need-it-now sense of feeling God. At least, it seems like this for most of the people I know who have had a relationship with him for a long time. So try not to panic if you don't feel him. (I'm not sure anyone can not panic when that hits, but at least you'll know he's not drawing away. lol)

    Yeah...
I guess because our salvation required His death but our sanctification requires our death.

Amen. I firmly believe if the real gospel was preached of what happened from the cross to the resurrection and ascension of our Lord and that we are included in that - then a lot of the mess the church is in because of our wrong beliefs would end.
The new man in Christ - the new creation that is created in righteousness and

holiness hears the heart voice of the Spirit and not an old head noise of the letter

of the word. The Pharisees knew "bible knowledge" but they did not

know God's heart and so they erred in really understanding what the

    scriptures were saying.

    Ok,we IDENTIFY with HIS death.

    That dynamic is POSITIONAL.

Now,as believers,we may or may not be OVERCOMERS. ( one who overcomes sin,or the flesh)

The Corinthians were belivers, but carnal Christians. Believers walking in sin.

Dead men don't sin. They can't sin.

So,you see in your,or my template, the flesh can rule in either one.

It is not a one dimensional dynamic. We need BOTH.

To walk as an overcomer,I need to avail myself of the power,as well as put to death the deeds of the flesh.

If my will is forbidden to enter the picture (because of a teaching that I already died) then what am I doing saying no to sin?)

Iow,it would be detrimental to my walk to leave sanctification off the table.

Romans 7 illustrates the flesh dominated walk.

Amen and we also "identify with His life" which is what really saves us now as we walk by the Spirit so that we don't fulfill the lusts of the flesh to do "it's" desires.

We are learning to live by the life of Another in us now and this is all by grace through faith in what Christ has already done.

    Romans 5:10 (NASB)
10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

    Colossians 3:3 (NASB)
3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Yes,that is the best. ( having him rule,AUTOMATICALLY gives me a pure walk)

Ever seen someone who,no matter what, could not get victory over some area of the flesh?

They need every facet of the battle plan.

    That is HOW to win

I agree....I have found that the more we gave them the law - the more the sin manifested. We can stop doing something by our own will-power for awhile but eventually it will come back. But when we walk by the Spirit then the flesh with the law of sin in it ( rom. 7:20,23 ) loses it's power to deceive us. His life within us is what keeps us now.

I found that I was focusing on myself in trying not to sin and I wasn't really relying on Christ within me but on myself. Big difference and now learning about living by grace through faith in Christ's finished work - I live a holier life then I ever dreamed possible before. Thank you Jesus.

The true Christian wants to live godly because that is their true nature within them as a new creation in Christ.

Except that sanctification is not us overcoming sin or the flesh. Sanctification is the work of Christ within us, transforming us into His image….."from glory to glory" (2 Cor. 3:18)

Actually, no. Unless you're saying you're sinless.
Rom. 7:21 So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand.22 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being,23 but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.
