So many comments are made here to another's post but when questioned as to what they mean they never answer. If your going to comment on someone's opinion or what ever, you should at least try to remember to go back and see if they have a question. I'm guilty of this myself and do apologize.

In theory, this sounds good. However, the reality is that very few people here are willing to involve themselves in a discussion about their differences of theological beliefs because they know full well that a small group of people here roam the Forums looking for anyone who posts a comment that does not agree with their particular beliefs.

These people will immediately attempt to take control of the discussion by attacking the one who disagrees with their beliefs by name calling, belittling, berating and condemning them as false teachers.........whatever.

Reasonable and respectful debates on these Forums are an endangered species at the very best.

What I do, and you/others could try, if I have a question for a specific person, is start a new Thread addressed to that person specifically. If they answer, good...........but, even then, one must expect the wee group of ne'er do wells to jump in with insults flying.

Anyway.............in theory, it is a good idea

I will usually answer a question when properly asked.

I won't answer troublemakers, fools, or idiots, for to partake in their folly is sin indeed.

I'm not name calling..... they are in this forum.

We need to exercise the fruits of the spirit, and learn how to love people despite their
behaviour.

I answer anyone even those who may come across as disrespectful. I've spoken to many disrespectful people including disbelievers. What God has shown me is to always display love regardless what another might say. You displaying love to a person who displays hatred towards you not only glorifies God but can bring that person to him.

It depends on the topic. If its missionaries in Africa you can go back and answer. If its about grace or homosexuals you'll have to read 3000 pages to answer the question. Not worth the bother.

Love them, of course.

When I start threads or make comments, I find sometimes there are a lot of people that jump all over me. When I get tired of that, I leave the thread and don't come back. If there is something you want to know, you can always send me a personal message.

My rule is I never go more than two responses with someone who disagrees with me. I refuse to be caught up in 'debates' on here.
I don't have the interest to go back to every single post I make to see who disagrees with me, or to try to remember them all.
It changes nothing anyways. Merely drags out arguments.

It's one of the worst things about CC that we are never informed that someone has quoted our post and replied to it... This means that if you are a very active member and post replies to many different threads you cannot remember all of them, so unfortunately things get missed..

If you really want to be more assured of a discussion you should copy the reply and open a private message one on one discussion with they person..

I would suggest this- if anyone makes a statement, or posts Scripture, then be ready to answer or discuss. don't duck and dodge. remember, if you bring it up, be ready to talk about it.

it just seems that some on here do not want to be in discussions that they cannot control, and quickly start dancing around, and bringing up stuff that has nothing to do with the original statement.

Hi Buddy, I'm sorry because I'm probably guilty too. I don't know when someone replies to me unless they hit like and then I'll go look, read and answer if a question has been asked.

Other than that, I don't really have the time to go and check
every post I've made to see if someone has asked me a question.

And some don't have the time and/or interest to go in circles with people. Not everyone who joins this site is looking for an endless argument. Doubt you're going to convince anyone to do anything, whether it's the ones dodging or those who don't come here to argue. Chances are your opinion isn't going to dictate how others act, much as you seem to want it to.

What if my comments are specifically designed to inflame people, crush them with sarcasm, demonstrate to the world how ridiculous they sound, or show the complete folly of their reasoning?

... not that I'd ever do any of that, mind you.... ;)

You're upset when people don't answer?

I prefer when they don't answer.

That's a MUCH easier way to debate.

: )

I do the same thing as resurrection 33 ,I asked a question a few weeks ago( a perfectly valid question) and I asked nicely for only common sense quantifiable answers but instead I got mysticism and nonsense so I never went back because it's just a boring waste of time reading replies from people who don't know and use God to hide their ignorance.

Watch I'll start a new thread with the same questions and get the same results.
