There's discussion regarding how to handle trolls. How are these bdf issues any different? It has to do with heart condition when it comes to consistent disregard for others imo. Troll is just a convenient label.

Unfortunately, Kris, there is more strife, contention and evilness on this site, than there is peace and happiness. :(
And that is incredibly ironic since it's called Christian chat....with Christian being a word that claims to have the keys to life but instead commits murder in their hearts on a daily basis. Is that what I signed up for when I asked Jesus in my heart? To murder people with my words?

You all know what im getting at...right? And I've done it here. Not denying it.

The part in red, I'm in that category. And have been told many times to get a life because I spend far too much time here..Well, I'm stuck in bed with my back rather often, so what else am I supposed to do? Sit here and twiddle my thumbs? Hum de dum, let's stare at the ceiling all day. I don't think so.. lol.. So I come on here and try to help people, and get yelled at and called names for it. From some of the more notable members, I might add. :/

Many people who do those things come here because they aren't allowed to preach in their local churches.

Or they have been thrown out because they called their local preacher a heretic.

Or they left because they didn't feel comfortable enough to say what they post here.

We do have a few who come here because of medical reasons that have them stuck at home.

However I have found many who visit this site dont have a local church they attend.

I come because I can't attend as many Bible studies as I would like, and have found folks to fellowship with.

You just have to listen to the quiet ones and not the self proclaimed teachers and prophets who try and take over the forum.

Sometimes calling a spade a spade is called for.

I only call people heretics if I can prove Bibilcally that they are wrong. That means lots and lots of Scripture in context. And Greek. Sorry to all you who distain scholarship, but the fact is, you can't do theology without having some basic understanding of Greek. And even then, people will disagree.

What I abhor is name calling and nastiness when there is no attempt to show Scripturally where the person is wrong. This thread doesn't require Scripture, of course, but many do! Especially when we are talking about theology.

Personally, I would love to stop arguing theology, and actually look at passages and find out what we can all get out of various passages. We may not agree on everything, but at least we would be discussing the Bible.

I've been attacked a few times, it doesn't bother me much. I have a pretty thick skin. And if I am wrong, I am happy to read what others write about a topic. I've changed my views about lots of things.

Which brings me to my point! Most people who call names usually are pretty entrenched and unmovable. That rigidity can be seen as being true to God, or being true to a favourite belief, rather than God.

Well, I don't see things changing in the near future. But if this thread helps, great. Otherwise, it is just another thread calling people names for calling people names!

So my question is I guess....what are ways that people abuse each others humanness?
I believe it would be better if we talk about how to affirm and encourage one another.

People never learned how to overcome sin by focusing on what is wrong.

We only become more godly when we focus on Christ and walking with Him. When we stop looking around to see how wrong everyone is, how wrong we are and focus instead on what we can do right.

How we can show love and encouragement to others.

Do people always fight and call others bad names?

Yes.
.However I treasure the times I see heartfelt connections and humbleness and connection between people.

I come because I have seen people encouraged and pulled from depression or calmed from anger to joy, peace and forgiveness.

This forum is part of the world but it doesn't always have to be a place of contention.

Sometimes there is peace and stillness and prayer that allows healing and love to flow through our words to one another's heart.

In the BDF i mean. People calling each other liars and heretics? Where people seem to be more concerned with everybody else's salvation? As if they're "on a mission from God" to put someone in their place. Is that what the Christian walk means to people? An outward circumstance in relation to ourselves? Seems like so much of the world even acts that way. They just use a different language.
And if you disagree with some on this board a time or two, and prove them wrong with scripture, in a very friendly way, you know with stuff like the Pope is Anti-Christ, many on this board will not reply further to any of your posts, they act like children. Which is why I seldom post here.

I hear what you saying. Focus what pure etc. there's also the side of scripture that teaches us to pull the weeds in our own hearts. The need to be identified for removal.

You all know what im getting at...right? And I've done it here. Not denying it.

I was raised to speak up for the truth,no matter who it was or what the cost. I recall as a young person we had a youth pastor that tried to over ride the pastor and get people on his side to get him to stay as the youth pastor. One night he sat us down as a youth group, now I was quite young, and started telling his sob story and we could help him stay. He said he'd step out of the room while we discussed it. Right away I knew he was wrong. There were older more mature youth there but I think I was the first to say "this is wrong,I dont like this". A guy several years older stood with me. Now the girls there liked this youth pastor, come to find out he was into some things, and they were not happy with me speaking up.

I say all that to say this,Im going to stand up to false teaching. Now I try to be nice about it,but when someone says Christ wasn't perfect you can bet that will draw fire from me. I'll apologize if Im wrong. But its not very often that I am.Ive traveled a lot of places, met thousands of people and Im a pretty good read of whats right and wrong and a persons character. Im not about to sit down and let people talk nonsense and false doctrine. I dont really care what others think about it. The Word is the Truth and thats all that needs to be said.

There is a reason James 3 was written.

Learning to tame our tongue and discern between heavenly and worldly wisdom can be difficult and only possible through prayer and the Holy Spirit guidance.

Bumblebees, you say...? :D
It's very funny when you think about how spellcheck took the word humbleness and changed it to bumblebees...
Maybe no one will see it though...

Sometimes I can think I am being humbleness but I am really being a stinging bumblebee...

I think anyone who is more focused on me than they are on themselves has some serious blinders on their eyes and hearts.

Yes, but does it tell us to weed others gardens for them?

Too often it's more like stomp all over their sand castle or bulldoze their block tower.

We are to tear down spiritual strongholds that war against the knowledge of God,but we need to first establish a living relationship with others before we take a chisel to their towers.

Nah we all have issues if we focus on ourselves or others more than we focus on God and His will.

I will give a very hearty amen to this!
Growing humility actually overlooks the faults of others and doesn't seek to uncover their nakedness because it is seeing its own nakedness. Suddenly, they can't even see or focus on someone elses splinter because they are too focused, in amazement, at log that prevents them!

and did God chastise Adam and Eve for their nakedness? Nope...he made them clothes and then told them what the consequences for their actions were. He can do that. He's God.

Yes, this should not be the language among Christians. Jesus called one thing how people can see that we are belong to Him. Love! So more difficult if we see the mass on different denominations and Biblical views. I once belonged to a small church were the members came from different background. (Baptists, Mennonite, Protestant church, Calvinism) It works as so long the Lord was in the middlepoint. Then anyhow this gone lost and the doctrines became more important. As result people are called false teacher because of different denomination. My expierience is that no denomination is 100% right. So everybody has to proof his believe and not all questions find an answer, because of different view from exegetic and hermeneutic. So we can discuss f.e.about future events, without coming to an one mind solution. But I found also sometimes that bro ore sisters claim doctrines for right, but without Biblical foundation. Is it wrong then to call them false teachers? Ore to call a false doctrine a false doctrine? Would our Lord call a false teacher a false teacher? If people led people through their teaching away from the Lord ore presenting a false view from the Lord how you will call them?
But you are right, we should act as followers of Christ.
