YOU HAVE THE VICTORY![/h][HR][/HR]
If God’s Word says that we are more than conquerors through Christ, then we are. We are not going to become, we already are. We may be experiencing some failures or setbacks in life right now, but only good will come out of our situations because God says that “in all these things we are more than conquerors”. We have the victory!

You see, God has placed us in Christ, whom He has exalted to the highest place in the universe. We are not trying to get to victory ground. We are already on victory ground. We don’t confess God’s Word to get victory. We confess His Word because we already have the victory. We don’t fight for victory. We fight from victory.

The devil will try to steal our victory. He will come against us with lies and fears, and cause us to be conscious of our failures, weaknesses and symptoms in areas such as our health. But we are not trying to be healed. We are already healed because God’s Word declares that “by His stripes we are healed”. (Isaiah 53:5)

A sister in our church was seeing two psychiatrists. She had been under psychiatric care and medication for panic attacks for the most part of her life. She said that when she started coming to church and learning about Jesus, the truth of God’s Word began to dawn on her.

She started believing that victory over her condition was already hers and began confessing it. From then on, all her fears were removed and her panic attacks ceased. Today, she has a sound mind, is free from all medication and knows that her life is greatly blessed through Jesus who loves her.

My friend, the moment you accept Jesus as your Savior, you are born again and the new person inside you is more than a conqueror. You are already on victory ground and you have victory over every challenging situation in your life!

This is some good news to remember day in and day out. If the Bible says we are more than conquerors than we are! How often do you feel that you are a conqueror? I'm encouraged to know that if it's not a reality in my life it's because of my understanding being in "lack-mode" I have these gifts given from Jesus but I'm not experiencing them. My faith has everything to do with this.

There are things I'm learning to do while coming across these Bible truths. Saying them out loud is important. What we say to ourselves and over our situations is more important than I first realized. Words are somehow important for us to use in the world. The news is full of negative words. The evil people in the world are saying untrue words. And we are taught in our society here in America and even in our day to day at home and at work to repeat how miserable things are and verifying them with our words. Is it any wonder the good does not grow and the evil does?

I just took it for granted that words are not all that important since they are "just words". While working I used to say "oh man this is so hard, I'll never be able to finish this" And I quit trying because I convinced myself it could not be done. Today however I'm learning to start a project and say Lord, this is unfamiliar to me but You can show me how to put this together. And He does!

Not only does saying what the Bible says cause me to see things differently, but saying it causes it to be cemented in my brain. Also, this "saying the truth" is a rare thing among co-workers and in the lives of people I know. I've noticed people talk themselves into discouragement and failure just like I did. It's a normal way of life for people on earth unless we learn otherwise.

So, believing and saying we are more than conquerors is a starting point. God said it is so. So it is! And that is just one of the truths He has given us believers. Just think how much more He says about our lives and how much we can start agreeing with Him even at this very moment. And that believing will change our minds and hearts via faith. Agreeing with Him is a starting point in the process.
:D

Isaiah 53:4-6 "Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

We are healed from our
transgressions, our iniquities and our peace was upon Him, what peace, our peace with God. Peter interprets this Scripture as to what it meant to us. 1 Peter 2:23-25 "who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Peter tells us that we are healed from our sin, by His stripes on the tree, that we can live righteously

While the christian has been made more than conquerors thru Christ, it is indeed possible our lives don't show it.

For instance, How could I call myself more than a conqueror when I can't even discern the doctrine I follow? Or, I haven't proven it to be true?

How can I be more than a conqueror if I explain away many other scriptures that conflict with my beliefs?

As a Pentecostal, I've seen my share of people who claim to be all that & not able to rebuke the Devil for someone in need.

Some name it & claim it, but obviously don't have it.

Christ in us does the conquering lest we should boast.

Christ in us will win the good fight for us.

Christ in us will heal the sick.

Christ in us will love our neighbor.

Christ in us will love God more than anything.

Without Christ in us, we are just hunks of clay waiting to be put on potters wheel.

Imagine being "more than a conqueror, & never conquering anything.

No expectation of responsibility.

No expectation of spiritual warfare

No expectation of "take up your cross & follow me".

No expectation of "fight the fight of faith".

That's what happens when people reject Jesus' teachings.

What I have had to conquer is my own "fleshly desires" - pride, selfishness, greed, gratification, etc. The Lord gave me the desire to do so, gave me the ability to say "no", and gave me the reasons. Yet, conquering some of these things was not easy. Some people think that the Lord will just take away a desire and make it easy for them. Not necessarily (although He has done this for some). Sometimes He wants us to grow by struggling and learning to overcome our flesh. To learn the power of just saying "no - I will not!"

I agree with the posting earlier that said that Christ in us does the loving acts towards others. And above all, He motivates us by His Spirit.

Thank you each one for posting your thoughts here about this devotional and sharing your experiences. I appreciate and respect each one, yes even the more passionate and angry. The way each person believes has been learned by many and varied trials and experiences they've been through.

These devotionals I post a few times a week most often talks about the love of God in Christ, the promises of the Bible and how being the righteousness of God in Christ will bring the believer through trials., through healing, and other tribulations the way Psalm 91 promises for instance and may not be what has been every Christians experience. Many times while posting these daily devotionals I know there will be some who will be encouraged and spurred to move on in the faith. While others may not be enthusiastic or on board with the message.

Let's look at Psalm 91 for a reference.

Psalm 91

[SUP]1 [/SUP]He who [SUP][a][/SUP]dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
[SUP]
2 [/SUP]I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!
[SUP]
3 [/SUP]For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
[SUP]
4 [/SUP][Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.
[SUP]
5 [/SUP]You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,
[SUP]
6 [/SUP]Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.
[SUP]
7 [/SUP]A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.
[SUP]
9 [/SUP]Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,
[SUP]
10 [/SUP]There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.
[SUP]
11 [/SUP]For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].
[SUP]
12 [/SUP]They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
[SUP]
13 [/SUP]You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot.
[SUP]
14 [/SUP]Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].
[SUP]
15 [/SUP]He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
[SUP]
16 [/SUP]With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

I'll continue on the next post....

There are many promises in the Bible and many beautiful statements about the faithfulness of God. They are all true and important but I'm using Psalm 91 because it's the one I'm most familiar with this year. I've called upon the promises in it and thought about it a lot.

I'm 58 yrs old and have been through experiences too. Experiences I thought would lead me through life as a tried mature adult woman who would have some possible advice to give my children maybe. But it turns out nothing could have been further from the truth. My experience lacked to be a beacon for my kids I'm sorry to say. Based on my experiences my advice was very lacking.

Each person has experiences with their faith right? There are those who have seen the promises of God blossom and grew to see He is an intimately loving God who cares for them and heals. He is a Good Shepherd and we are the sheep of His pasture. There are those who see Him as a loving Father who have not been healed or brought out of a situation. Both experiences are real.

But each one of us will have to go down that road of faith when we get there. No one can go there for us. When healing for instance is the subject and is something we will seek we will go through an experience.

For myself I see and realize the facts of some healed some not. Some killed some not. Some delivered some not. So how can I mark my course of action seeing these 2 real scenarios and the middle experiences before the outcome?

For me I have decided not to look to the 'right' or to the 'left' towards my own past experiences or that of other people's experiences I hear about, know as friends or family and even deeply respect and love dearly. They are to my right side and to my left side. I have to look up where Jesus is in it all today. And it's a day at a time.

So yes, there are many evidences to the contrary of the promises in Psalm 91. There have been those who were in a crowd of thousands as the arrows and or bullets were aimed at them and they fell along side those others that fell. Then there were others who were also shot at and saw others fall on their left side and on their right side but it did not come to them. They somehow believed the promises. They even watched the demise of others but it did not come to them. They could feel the arrows whip through their hair even so close were they to the events.

So there is no doubt there are experiences on both sides of this. I have to mark a course and chose to go with the Promises above the experiences.

My shallow and feeble experiences can't compare to the experiences of others. Nor can it compare to the promises God makes. I have found Him to be faithful to His promises and I'm learning to take each day one hour or happening at a time. While doing the walking I've learned fear is an enemy evil spirit that brings many doubts and hard human facts to the heart's door.

These are to the right and to the left of me. I'm determined and believe the Way to go is not to look to my right or to my left. Look a head and up to Jesus. And also know there are those who weep and those who rejoice. And to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.

We don't have the answers to the why's of people's experiences. But we do have the Word of God to learn and see how to keep stepping one step at a time through this life. His love isn't based on moving emotions or happenings in life. His love and grace are steady and can be a course to mark life by. So His promises are real.
How to learn to walk in them is what He wants to teach us through His Holy Spirit who comforts, guides and leads us into all truth (each day progressively becoming more intimately acquainted with Him how too live)

I especially like this verse, for it truly shows how He makes us more than conquerors, & that's to fight any type of battle necessary with The Spirit's anointing. Because God has made us more than conquerors, we can do great things for the Lord.

Ephesians 2:10

New International Version
For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

New Living Translation
For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

English Standard Version
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Berean Study Bible
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.

Berean Literal Bible
For we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

New American Standard Bible
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
