Hi J7, who is worshiping the Law? I don't think anyone is saying to worship the Law. Do you love Jesus?
Yes, true love will produce obedience = keeping God's law/Commandments.

Hi Grandpa, I was not sure who you were responding to but hope you don't mind my comments.

Galatians 3:10-12
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Amen that is the beauty of the new covenant. God's Law written on our hearts means that the followers of Jesus keep God's Laws because they love him. This is why Jesus says, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15). This is the distinguishing feature of God's last day people...."Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." (Rev 14:12) They keep all God's commandments because they have faith in Jesus (the Word of God) to save them from their sins.

You can't pick and choose which law(s) you want to keep. If you pick one you are bound to obey the whole book of the law.
We should not be picking any Laws we should be picking Jesus and by having faith in Jesus (God's Word) he will save us from our sins so that we can walk in newness of Life by writing His Laws in our heart so that the things we once loved we now hate. This is the new covenant the heart of stone being changed to a heart of flesh to love God and our neighbor.

I would gladly join in with you in your quest to be a perfect Jew if I didn't know there was a better Way. That's the whole reason we don't follow the law in our carnal understanding anymore.
This next verse below might be helpful in answering your above statement and also refers to the new covenant..."For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." (Rom 2:28-29)

God bless you

This is not what Paul is talking about here. Who has sinned in the Law? Everyone under the Law, except Jesus

So what does Paul actually mean?

The hearers of the Law are the Jews, the doers of the Law are the Romans, who exact the penalty of the Law on the Jews and Jerusalem.

For when the Romans, who do not have the Law, do by nature the things contained in the Law, (Leviticus 26, Deuteronomy 28).
Paul is talking about that there.

Is this serious? I ask because it seems like a bad joke. See points above. Actually only a few as it seems silly to point out the obvious flaws in the reasoning given. too many to deal with all at once. I find it interesting that this article tries to prove a point by quoting the law on stone not on the heart. kind of misses the argument.

Also this article clearly skips over what the new covenant is as written in scripture. It is Gods law written on the heart. God only has one law. and those that have it written on the heart do the very things contained in the law. One passage destroyed this article.

Rom 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Rom 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

note the law written on the heart is seen when someone does those things the law says by nature not by works for salvation. If you are confused by which law Paul is talking about then just keep reading the chapter and you will see its the 10 commandments clearly.

This is obvious to anyone who just reads the New covenant given in Jeremiah.

Post #865 is not answering the questions directly - it's skirting the answer. Answer straight. I'll give it the old "one more try for the Kipper"...( it's a US saying...:) )

Hello Grace777,

Post # 865 absolutely answered your questions above and asked you a question in return. I have answered all your questions but I have not seen you answer one question asked of you. It is ok I do not mind. But if someone gives you the Word of God to answer a question you pose you should not say it does not answer your question when it obviously does. I will post the answer to your two questions above again for your consideration...

Questions;

1. If people don't observe the Sabbath day from Friday night until Saturday as the law of Moses speaks about - are they disobeying God and sinning? Thank you for being honest with us here so that we can see what is really being said.

2. I see that you still have not answered my question for the 3rd time - do you believe that our loving Father sends His beloved children that are babies in Christ to hell?

Answers;

“And in times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent. Because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” (Acts 17:30-31)

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.” (Heb 10:26-27)

Another words in times of ignorance God does not hold us accountable to things we do not know about, but when God sends us a knowledge of the truth and we willfully reject God’s Word, there is nothing else that God can do to save us. My prayer for you Grace777 is that you will not reject God’s Word because it has come to you.

God bless you

Yes, true love will produce obedience = keeping God's law/Commandments.
Sterile obedience is fruitless. It is just robotic adherence to a set of dictums in order to win your pass at the end.

God created mankind in order for mankind to please him.

The New Covenant allows us to actually step outside of rote obedience and to be creative, as God is creative.

Stop obsessing with the law, and start obsessing about life.

You are quite wrong...there is nothing robotic about loving God and wanting to show your love through obedience.
Does not JESUS bring LOVE into our relationship with God and neighbour ? it is all quite different from the OT when people were obliged and expected to obey.
NOW we do it out of choice and love !!!
When people take a stance against God's commandments He personally gave at Sinai to the people Ex 20, they stop at v19 and become fixated/focused on Moses UNTIL they repent, even if it takes all their lifetime and they die in their sin which is REBELLION. Repentance and a turn from that state must happen if they want to move on. First they must 'die to self'...humble themselves before a Holy God !

I am afraid that Paul said:

Romans 7:4
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

sterile is wrong...it's OT. Today we have other 'ingredients mixed into worship drawn in through the Spirit....rather making a 'fruitcake than unleavened bread....does not away with the 'main-ingredient.
Don't know if you are much of a Baker but me being a woman am perhaps more aware of the difference...no offence intended ! However-proof of the pudding is 'in the eating !

I can understand your desire to worship with a congregation on the sabbath, I'm blessed enough to, but I wouldn't let it keep you from finding a good church and fellowshipping on a Sunday. I would practice the sabbath in your own way in that I would not work, and I would set Saturday aside to be with God. It's VITALLY important that we are connected with the body and are able to grow in love and learn to move in our gifts to serve one another. Your not sinning by going to a church service on Sunday, and I think it's great to have a higher revelation regarding God's holy day, and honouring Him in it, but we need to be careful not to forsake the more important things. And trust God to lead you to a group of like minded believers, He certainly can do it! I could go to a different service every day if the week but my heart would still love the sabbath to a higher level, just as God does! Bless.

oh I have to address this one:

"5. Living by the law will alienate you from Christ (Gal 5:4)."Wow, how so? will not killing alienate me from Christ?

Or is it loving God that alienates us from Christ? What exactly is this trying to say?

Its based on a false premise which is trying to suggest that anyone who is converted is actually not converted. Galatians is addressing people who are believing lies that they have to preform the law in order to be saved. These people came to know about Jesus and find salvation in faith in Him then people come along and tell them they must be circumcised to be saved just like in acts 15. The issue is not that the law concerning the 10 commandments is not good.

Imagine Paul teaching that they should not obey the 10 commandments or else they will be alienated from Christ. How silly is that.

The issue here in Galatians is how we are saved, by works or faith. Clearly its faith, Please think about this.

Because trying to be justified by the works of the Law will alienate you from the grace of God in Christ.

Circumcision is a "work of the Law". We are also a debtor to live the whole law of trying to live by one law in the law of Moses. Living by the law is exchanging Christ Himself for the law and in effect this is breaking the actual Law itself - a violation of the 1st commandment.

Galatians 5:2-4 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] Behold I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you.

[SUP]3 [/SUP] And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is under obligation to keep the whole Law.

[SUP]4 [/SUP] You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

Fallen from grace is trying to live by the law of Moses ( which is for being justified before God ) instead of the life of Christ in us by grace through faith in what Christ has already done.

Paul was addressing the Judaizers that came to Galatia distorting the gospel by saying they must "do " what the law of Moses says. it's the same for those that come to Christians and say they must "Keep the Sabbath" as in the law of Moses.

Again you are saying that if I don't agree with your religion's belief in some scriptures - I am against the word of God and calling the word of God false doctrine. That is complete religious nonsense and spiritual manipulation.

Actually Sparkman talks about these tactics in his thread on how certain sects interact with others. In is in the previous post where I showed you his thread. I know you reject others teachings but perhaps the readers of the thread will go to see what is really being said.

Again you have not been forthright and answered my questions. I'll try once more and then just leave it in the hands of the Lord.

I know you mean well but God asks 'how long we are prepared to 'sit on the fence - hold between 2 opinions. I already came down on HIS side 37 years ago so I would be a fool to climb back up.
And also--once we are on HIS side we have 'fellowship with the Father and the Son...why seek it among the disobedient again ?

Circumcision was from the Abrahamic Covenant.
I know...that was part of the teaching that created the illusion that the Judaizers said to the Galatians to get them to "follow the Law " now that they came to Christ.

It has the "appearance" of being good and of "following God" but even Abraham's circumcision was a type of shadow of the circumcision of Christ where our inner man in Christ is "cut away" from our body of flesh. Col.2:11

Hmm Grace777 you did not see again? Re-Post for you below...

Hello Grace777,

Questions;

Answers;

Hello Grace777,

You have asked the same question many times already and your questions have already been answered. May I ask, is it because you do not believe God's Word that you do not accept the answer?

Jesus says that some people will not hear his words...
"Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." (Matt 13:13-15)

Please open your eyes my friend to God's Word. Your post has already been answered whether you accept the answer or not its up to you. Its God's word you are accepting or rejecting not mine.

God bless you

You just keep twisting all these bible verses to justify your carnal understanding and work at the law.

If you're not SDA I would be extremely surprised.
