the bible tells us whoever confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord.... etc

Power of life and death is in the tongue etc...

there isn't anything wrong with using the mouth that God has blessed you with to pray. As a matter of fact, we should aim to use all of your body to his glory.

How can Satan run with something that God has forgiven you off? Don't let Satan bind your mouth out of fear form praising Yahweh

I do the same sometimes but sometimes I pray in my mind, I think that my positive energy during prayer that connects positive energy opening a doorway communication.

I could be wrong but I think that rituals like holding your hands in front of your and kneeling aren't necessary in fact that is I think what God advises against because people can be drawn into rituals and idolatry and not know it if you look at the actual devil worshippers that's what they do they use focus objects and rituals.

No. Jesus told the people to pray in private..

Matthew 6: KJV
5 "¶ And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. {6} But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

Interesting is this saying that the verse below is wrong, or just saying the men should prey in closets, or is there a rightly divide?

1 Tim 2:8 King James Bible
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Paul told us to pray constantly (1 Thess 5:17). I've never heard anyone say, "The devil can take it and run with it," and don't know what it means. It sounds silly.

Man looks at how things appear to the eye,GOD looks at the truth/your motives/your heart.

"Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world." 1 John 4:4

I am so glad that you talk to God. He will hear you whether you pray out loud or in silence. When we gather together as friends and we pray together that is out loud, yet we do not fear satan. Why should we fear him when we are alone. Trust that the power of God in your life is abundantly more powerful than evil. Do not give satan a foot hold or power over you. Hugs!

Pray as you are being led to pray, whether out loud or quietly. Whoever told you about the devil taking a prayer said out loud and running with it is ignorant. Glad to have you as a member of our community. Welcome to CC.

No anna, what that person said is nonsense. In fact, I would be willing to bet that the person who told you that was a word of faith advocate. The devil "CANNOT" read your mind and like you said prayer is simply talking to God any where, any place or whether silently or vocally. Remember, the disciples ask Jesus how to pray and He prayed out loud so did the devil take His prayer and run with it? Your mindset should ALWAYS be in an attitude or prayer. That's why Paul said to pray without ceasing.

Funny how someone can always find a way to throw Word of Faith into a subject. These Word of Faith people must have a lot of influence on people. Amazing

Matthew 6:5-8 is talking more in reference to the attitude you have when praying. If you are praying out loud just so people can hear you then you should just keep quiet. Now if you are being led by the spirit and it isn't just edifying you then by all means pray away.

And with good reason lance. I know their "mo" and how they think. And your right, they do have an influence on people in a bad way based on some of their heretical teachings like the one in this thread. Who else do you know of that make the stupid statement if you pray outloud the devil will steal your words? Do you want some of the namesof wof teachers that teach this?

Luke 18:10=14.............

.......and the greatest Prayer recorded in the Bible was prayed by Jesus in public..............it is found in John, Chapter 17.

Praying in private is a good thing, but so is praying in public. AND, should you need further evidence..........read the Book of Acts where the Apostles gathered around new believers ........... laid hands on them............ AND PRAYED OVER THEM .... for them to receive the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

Sorry............but it is perfectly OK AND BIBLICAL to pray in public.

Well, whether or not the devil takes your prayers ought to be of no concern. The devil tries to take a lot things that belong to God. Sometimes he succeeds, as he did with Adam and Eve, but there are somethings he can't take away. He can't take the prayer of faith from its ascension to the ears of God. No sir. Whether the devil has taken them or not, prayers of faith will have long reached the portals of heaven before they ever be swiped by the devil.

So don't worry about the devil getting your prayers. God's got them. That's what matters. And if the devil has them later, that's all good as well.
