I realize that some do not like to watch videos but I am posting this video for those that do like to listen to them. I have found that unless I take the time to hear something out then I usually miss out on what is being said.

The video below is talking about what happened when God visited Sodom and Gomorrah. If Jesus said that satan was a murderer from the beginning - can the God of the Old Testament be classified as a murderer too? Jesus said that no one knew the Father but Himself and He had come to reveal the Father to us. He came to reveal His name of Abba and Father to us.

So, whatever view we have of God of the Old Testament that doesn't line up with the manifestation of His nature as shown in Jesus when He was on this earth - it will be inaccurate. Jesus is the exact representation of the true nature and will of the Father. Hebrews 1:1-3

For those interested in this subject - here is a grace-based look at what happened in Sodom and Gomorrah when God "destroyed" those 2 cities because of the iniquity in them.

For those that are inclined to listen to it all - I believe it will bring revelation of the love and grace our Father has towards us. God's character never changes - just our perception of Him does when we get the revelation of Christ Himself.

God in the Old is the same God with His love and grace towards us in the New Covenant. He is more clearly seen in Christ Himself. The scriptures show progressive revelation of the true nature and character of our loving Father and Lord. He is a good, good Father....:)

Amen, God is the same. Grace has always been there from the very beginning.

I agree. This video helped me to see some things in a different light then what I was taught in some of my church teachings and traditions. It bore witness to my spirit within me. Sometimes some of the greatest strongholds to get our minds renewed is un-learning what has been put in our minds about some subjects that is not entirely accurate.

Listened to this a couple of times and am considering some of the things the pastor has said. Thanks for posting.

It's always good to be challenged to think about what we believe and why. There is something to be considered when we think of how it is not God's will that any should perish but that all would come to repentance. And that because of Adam, we have all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. That the 2nd Adam (Jesus) came and redeemed us. We are not sinners because we sin, we sin BECAUSE we ARE sinners. We need to be taken out of the sin of Adam and into the new birth offered by Jesus Christ.

I'm a bit unclear about how this pastor understands God's "anger" or His "judgment" upon sin. Jesus paid the price for God's holy justice yet each person will be held accountable for their choice for or against Jesus Christ. What each one of us does with the truth of the person of Jesus Christ will determine our lives now and in eternity.

God's standards are holy perfection and Christ met every standard for perfection for us. So if we have Jesus we have life. Without Jesus there is no remission of sin and there is death. The word "consequence" comes to mind. And who will be the judge of enforcing the standard? It is a Holy God who is the Father of those who have accepted Christ but He is the Judge for those who have not accepted Christ.

Questions like - is God angry against sin? Is God angry towards sinful men or the sin alone? Is retribution coming for sin or for sinful men? Is retribution a consideration in this message by the pastor in the video?
These are questions I came out of listening to the video. Can you explain Grace777?? Thanks!

I have never heard of this explanation before about God visiting and destroying Sodom.

As to your questions - he didn't talk about them on the video that I remember.

I have listened to others talk about the judgment and wrath of God and the vengeance of God and it is against the sin itself. They shed more light on these subjects. I believe for those that still have the sin of unbelief in Christ's work will experience the consequence of still having sin on them even though it was taken away by the Lamb of God when they are in the presence of God.

The fire of His love will be manifested in them. God's character and nature never changes and when sin is in His presence - it'll be consumed and revealed for it's true nature. There remains no more sacrifice for sins other then belief in Christ's work and we need to receive His sacrifice. Without this people will have sin still in them despite Christ's work on their behalf.

That is my current understanding of it but I'm sure there is a lot more to it.

Here is a link to consider on the wrath of God in the light of Christ's work.

Here is another one from a different guy on the judgment of God.

I see in the recount of God's visit to Sodom that the men wanted to violate the two Angels of God..........that is a lot to consider.

Due to the righteous pleas of Lot, they took Lot's daughter and abused her until sunup, and she died.

I know because I believe, that had the mentouched one of the Angels they would have been dead ducks, perhaps vaporized.....but this is yet to come fo the Sodom of today.

There were originall Three Angels of God Who came down but only the two went to Sodom.......I believe the Three are God.
