Peter, you have very little faith in the ability of God.
The moment you receive salvation is the moment you receive everything for life and godliness.
You fail to see that it is not your work that "gets you there". It is His finished work that accomplishes this.

Of course you don't gain maturity right away, He reveals more to you through a relationship with Him, as you walk with Him, but that relationship is from minute one.

It is not gained or lost over time. He is yours and you are His. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you go from filthy rags, to as white as snow. You have accepted that sin is forgiven and God can now indwell the place in your heart that he created only for Him to dwell, because He now sees you spotless. You are a Saint.
It is the Spirit that takes hold, His word is the testimony to that. The word of God is true, it is the Spirit of God that is alive in us.
Ironic, I have little faith in God?

My question to you, is we are not here to build palaces in the sky because it sounds nice.
Go round the churches and you will see many different opinions expressed of how we
are called, why we are called and what church is actually for.

Jesus is the path, Jesus is the gate and the gate keeper is the law.
The church is Christs love alive on earth to do good works as a demonstration
of His reality in the hearts of mankind.

Because eternity is the walk, we will always be learning and experiencing the
infinite expression of God and love through situations and challenges.
So we never arrive at perfection, because it has its essence in God and flows
from Him through our lives.

Now the lack of clarity over these issues is plain, when I talked of purity, the
answer from some was we can never be pure until we have new bodies.
Now it appears we are instantly we are born again. And in one sense I agree this
must be true or else how can we be cleansed and a temple of the Holy Spirit.

But this is the grey area of sanctification, resolving struggles, becoming and being
remade. It is the area of discussion I am most interested in, because undermine
this and all is lost.

Now I recognise already the conversation has shifted, Praise the Lord, and it is
no longer in sin a block but what is purity, Holiness, blamelessness. How do these
things come from the heart, and not just words read from a book.

This thread came from seeing the law as the gatekeeper of the Kingdom.
Only those who have love empowering their souls can gain entry.

I am not saying you are an unbeliever Peter. An unbeliever cannot and will not have virtue love. We need the Spirit to have this type of Love.

Before you and I were saved...........we NEVER had this type of love, it was inconceivable to us as people without the Spirit.
I am not able to comment. It maybe before Christ moves in us we are chaff,
feeling the love, hearing it but not knowing how to capture it.

Certainly I can see a case that the wheat seed planted in us by Christ is the
love that bring everything together and forms a new creation, a new whole.

Jesus also implies the very life we have in Him dries up when we cut off our
spiritual anchor though we believe we are now mature and able to act independently
this is the illusion of the power of love flowing in us can give us. Satan fell for this,
many preachers because of the adulation they get, believe they are the source and
loose track. Moses lost it once.

What I want to focus on this is the core, the very essence of God at work in us.
So any work, whatever its name, or sense or focus, works against love, it has gone
wrong.

This is why with the best will in the world, so many well motivated preachers make
ship wrecks of their faith because the loose focus on the core reality, the cross and
Christ, sacrifice to save all.

Getting this focus going will mature the church and refresh the hearts of many, because
we need have no boundaries or defences in the family who truly love as Jesus loved.
And there will be betrayal and hurt, but mainly there will be blessing and the growing
of the Kingdom. Amen.

The entire law is not wrapped up in one, love your neighbor as yourself, because that only takes care of the last 6, the first 4 are in love the Lord God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.
I agree with you. Paul is saying everything in moral law about dealing with people
is wrapped up in "love your neighbour as yourself."

And in a real sense if God is dwelling in you enough to fulfil this you will be loving
God at the same time with everything you are.

I do find sometimes things are so inter connected you cannot have one aspect without
the other. C S Lewis described this reality as a sense of everything becoming in Christ
more real and the ghost like reality of this world disappearing into the mist.

I sometimes find myself going, Paul is being too brief here, and later I see no, it is true
though not obviously so.
