I think it's quite comical how carnal minded religious people who claim to be followers of Jesus... talk as though He lied sometimes. If Jesus is one's Lord and Savior... why not believe what He says???

Here's one that many claim Jesus lied about just because some silly TV preachers use in error:

Mark 11:23,24
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Did you notice Jesus personally acted on what He said in versus 23... in verse 24 by saying: "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them"

Of course this is governed by not asking / saying to consume upon one's fleshly desires:

James 4:3
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

And, of course one must abide in Jesus and let the Word His Word abide in us so we are asking / saying the will of the Lord:

John 15:7
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Yet, somehow many get all bent out of shape cause goofy TV preachers mention Mark 11:23,24 in their extreme views that have led them in to the ditch (while carnal minded religious people be all in the ditch on the other side thinking God steals, kills, and destroys)... and it's like they think Jesus lied when He said we could speak to the mountain (that in your live that is bigger than what you can handle) and expect the Lord to watch over His Word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12) because it's impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18).

One of the keys to understanding HOW to receive healing is to... tell sickness and disease that it cannot come upon your body because your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 6:19,20
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Of course this is only applicable to those who dedicate their body to be a habitation for the Lord

Romans 12:1,2

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Now, when speaking to sickness / disease telling it "it is written" (you know... like Jesus did when satan tried to get Him to not honor the Word of the Lord)... one must do so based upon what God has promised concerning healing and understand that we will reap in due season if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9)

Here's a few promises the Lord has made for your health / healing:

Romans 8:11
But IF the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you (allowed to live in us), He that raised up Jesus Christ from the dead shall also quicken (energize, make alive) your mortal body by His Spirit that lives in you. (see 2 Corinthians 3:17 – where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty, freedom!)

1 Peter 2:24
Jesus carried our sins in his own body on the cross, so that we, being dead to sin, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed.

Matthew 8:17

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Isaiah 53:4, 5
Jesus has carried our grief (pain, anxiety, calamity, disease, sickness), and carried our sorrows (anguish, affliction, feelings of pain, sadness and sorrow): yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted....but He was wounded (to wound, to break, be slain or killed) for our transgressions, He was bruised (crush, destroy, oppress, to collapse) for our iniquities: the punishment (violence, rebuke) of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. (He took our wounds, so we could take his wholeness & health in every area of life)

Proverbs 4:20-23
Attend to My words; incline your ear unto My sayings....let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart....for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh....keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it flow the forces of life.

James 5:15
The prayer of faith shall save the sick (from being sick!)

Exodus 15:26

If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will not put any diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that heals you.

Exodus 23:24-26

You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do their works: but you shall utterly overthrow them, and destroy their images.
And you shall serve Adonai your God, and He shall bless your food and drink; and I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: and you will live out the full span of your lives.

Short question, Rockrz, have you ever moved a literal mountain by words in your life?

If not, what are you trying to tell us here?

Rockrz did say...'a mountain is something bigger than we can handle'....he did not mean a literal mountain. It is also what Jesus referred to.
It would be a very dangerous thing if people could move real mountains !

This should help.

Mark 4:11-13[SUP]11 [/SUP]And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: [SUP]12 [/SUP]that seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. [SUP]13 [/SUP]And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

No, Jesus didn't lie. He was telling the truth when he discussed sexual morality.

I guess I have never heard a Christian say Jesus lied about anything. I have ran into quite a few non believers who say scripture contradicts itself.

I mean you'd think that goes without saying...
Yeah, well when you are the only person in the whole wide world that isn't "carnal minded religious people who claim to be followers of Jesus" then you just have to assume no one else could possibly ever know this until you cannon-fodder your pixie dust all over them and grace them with your presence and outstanding teachings.

(Too much sarcasm? Even for me?)

Being from the mountains, I can say sometimes a mountain can cause dangers and might literally need to be moved.

My grandmother told me about a woman who testified in church one time that the mountain behind her house was putting her in danger. Trees falling near her home constantly and mudslides. The mountain behind her home was private property so the state and county would not do anything with it because it wasn't their responsibility. She said she prayed and asked God to move it just like he said he would in scripture.

She must have had faith as a mustard seed because the person who owned the property decided to log it. To do so they had to make a road so they brought in bulldozers and leveled the mountain behind her house and moved it away in dump trucks. Now they didn't level the whole mountain, but the part that was causing her problems was moved out of her way.

But I do agree that Jesus wasn't only talking about literal mountains in that scripture and as someone else said we all need to use commonsense.

No, He did not lie. He's telling the truth all the time. Let's take a look what Jesus says KJVJohn8;45-47 45.And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.46. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47.He that is of God heareth God's words; ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

Another part of answer on the question The Jesus says again KJVJohn8;17-18 17. It is also written in the law, that is testimony of two men is true. 18. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that send me beareth withness of me.

OK, here we go... let me ask you a question, do you really think Jesus is talking about ACTUAL mountains here or problems in people's lives that are so large they cannot do anything about it personally so it may as well be a mountain???

what are you trying to tell us here?
Why don't you ask Jesus??? He's the one Who said what was said in Mark 11:23,24

You obviously are not a student of Jesus' Words... not good for you.

Yeah, well when you are the only person in the whole wide world that isn't "carnal minded religious people who claim to be followers of Jesus" then you just have to assume no one else could possibly ever know this until you cannon-fodder your pixie dust all over them and grace them with your presence and outstanding teachings.
Is that a guilty dawG barkin I hear???

Must be seeing you just assume this is referring to you.

I thought this is some kind of "word of faith" thread again.
God's Word has much to say about the importance of our words because we are created in God's image and what we sow is what we reap. Can't get around that, sorry...

Just because goofy, self serving, seeker sensitive TV preachers use what God's Word teaches abou our words being important wrongly... do you automatically assume that all the things God says in His Word ion this subject is to be ignored and thrown out???

That would be a very grave mistake and one satan would really enjoy as that position is an open door in to one's life!

Jesus seems to be teaching "word of faith" as is Paul and James:

Matthew 12:34-37
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Romans 10:6-11
But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above )
Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Don't knock biblical word of faith too hard cause that's how one enters in to a relationship with the Lord....

James 3:2-10
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

There is a right way to approach this subject and a wrong way... using this to serve self and focus on things of this world such as money and material possessions and act/claim this proves one is anointed... is wrong.

Sure, Jesus will meeet our needs and is one can handle wealth without destroying himself and/or lording it over others one might find the Lord will trust them with wealth but as a responsibility to support legitimate Gospel ministries and not to horde up for self.

The right way to approach this subject is to consider the entire Word of God and learn that this is one of many subjects Christians need to be well versed in.

It's kinda like some people believe cars run on gas but they don't.

No, the run on gas, air, electricity, coolant, hydraulic fluid, oil and if you take any one of these away you will be walking since the gas is one of numerous things going on to make the car go down the road.

What we say is very important but it's one of numerous things associated with walking with the Lord in close personal relationship.

Besides... Jesus continually told satan "it is written" and then quoted scripture to thwart satan's attempts to trick Jesus in to turning away from God, so speaking God's Word is a powerful things since... wait for it.... IT'S WHAT GOD ALMIGHTY SAID!
Funny how lots of folks that say they are Christians don't really believe what God says...

John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Amazing that Jesus used what God said to push satan back... but lots of Christians refuse to simply do what Jesus did.

Folks in other threads talk about wanting to be healed... this is a major part of getting healed.

Some folks be all acting like God's Word is not to be used against the devil and his tricks to put him in his place which is under our feet because of the Cross!
