NAMES AND TITLES OF JESUS OMITTED IN THE NIV ==================================================================
The manuscripts, versions, and principles of 'textual criticism' recommended by the critics tell Christians to pierce the written word defacing the Lord Jesus Christ--even his name.

The following list was taken from Salliby's If the Foundations Be Destroyed. Moorman's Early Manuscripts and the Authorized Version lists many more.

THE NIV EXPOSED 2

The NIV completely REMOVES the following 17 verses!
Matthew 17:21, 18:11, 23:14
Mark 7:16, 9:44, 9:46, 11:26, 15:28, Luke 17:36, 23:17
John 5:4 Acts 8:37, 15:34, 24:7, 28:28
Romans 16:24
1 John 5:7!
The NIV REMOVES 64,576 words!
Don't look for the "mercyseat" in the NIV - GONE!
Don't look for "Jehovah" in the NIV - GONE!
Don't look for the "Godhead" in the NIV - GONE!

The NIV removes wonderful Bible "terms" like remission, regeneration, impute, propitiation, new testament and many others!

Despite God's clear warnings about "taking away" from His words - the NIV removes 64,576 words!

That equals REMOVING the books of Ruth, Esther, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Lamentations, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Malachi, Colossians, I Thessalonians, II Thessalonians, I Timothy, II Timothy, Titus, Philemon, James, I Peter, II Peter, I John, II John, III John, Jude and more - COMBINED!!! The equivalence of ripping out OVER 30 BOOKS of the Bible!

In case you think it's insignificant words like "thee" and "thou"? The NIV removes major portions of at least 147 verses!

Here's a small (very small) sampling of words removed in the NIV!

Matt. 6:13, "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."
Matt. 15:8, "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth"
Matt. 19:9, "and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery."
Matt. 20:7, "and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive."
Matt. 20:16, "for many be called, but few chosen."
Matt. 20:22, "and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with"
Matt. 25:13, "wherein the Son of Man cometh."
Matt. 27:35, "that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet They parted my garments among them and upon my vesture did they cast lots"
Mark 6:11, "Verily I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city."
Mark 10:21, "take up the cross."
Luke 1:28, "blessed art thou among women"
Luke 4:4, "but by every word of God"
Luke 4:8, "get thee behind me Satan"
Luke 4:18, "he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted"
Luke 11:2-4, "Our ... which art in ... Thy will be done, as in heaven so in earth... but deliver us from evil"
John 1:27, "is preferred before me"
John 3:13, "which is in heaven"
John 3:15, "should not perish"
John 11:41, "from the place where the dead was laid"
John 16:16, "because I go to the Father"
Acts 10:6, "he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do"
Acts 15:18, "Known unto God are all his works"
Acts 20:24, "But none of these things move me"
Acts 23:9, "let us not fight against God"
Rom. 8:1, "who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit"
Rom. 13:9, "Thou shalt not bear false witness"
I Cor. 6:20, "and in your spirit which are God's"
I Cor. 11:24; "Take eat... broken"
II Cor. 10:4, "but mighty through God"
Gal. 3:1, "that you should not obey the truth"
Eph. 5:30, "of his flesh, and of his bones"
Phil. 3:16, "let us mind the same thing"
I Tim. 6:5, "from such wthdraw thyself"
Heb. 7:21, "after the order of Melchisedec"
I Pet. 1:22, "through the Spirit"
I Pet. 4:14, "on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified"
I John 4:3, "Christ is come in the flesh"
I John 5:13, "and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God"
Rev. 1:11, "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last"
Rev. 5:14, "him that liveth for ever and ever"
Rev. 14:5, "before the throne of God"
Rev. 21:24, "of them which are saved"
WHY WOULD YOU WANT A HALF WRITTEN-WORD OMITTING MAN MADE NIV WHEN YOU CAN HAVE A PURE PRESERVED KING JAMES VERSION THAT IS "GOD BREATHED"
We believe:
- in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testaments.
- in the preservation of God's Word through the Hebrew Masoretic Text and the Greek Textus Receptus.

The NIV DOES CONTAINS THESE BOOKS. IT WOULD OF BEEN TO OBVIOUS IF THEY HAD TAKEN OUT THE BOOKS. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS?
Personally, I would be very suspicious of a translation that has so much in common with the Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses. Another reason I would totally discount this book is because 2 homosexuals were involved in the translation of it. Dr. Virginia Mollenkott and Dr. Marten Woudstra, who was Chairman of the Old Testament Committee.

Revelation 22:19 (King James Version)

19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

To Karuna

That is no justification for the erroneous New International Version. There is no argument here for proof has exposed the widely populated NIV.

"The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Bible, "as it is in truth, the Word of God..." (1 Thessalonians 2:13). We believe in verbal, plenary inspiration in the original writings, and God's preservation of His pure words to every generation (2 Timothy 3:16, Psalms 12:6-8). The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use; the King James Version of the Bible is the only English version we accept and use. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice."

In fact if you were to research the names of the NIV committee who are behind this massive deception, you will find the truth about their wicked lifestyle, Karuna.

Should I understand then that you believe some translators are spotless?

Once you get over the gay panic, you'll realize that all you've done is create a theology by which we should discount any translation of a holy book.

Karuna, this is not even about the homosexuality..even though the Bible does say this:

"Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the
lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies
between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie,
and worshipped and served the creature more than the
Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God
gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did
change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the
woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men
working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves
that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as
they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave
them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are
not convenient;"
Romans 1:24-28, KJV

But we are not on the topic of homosexuality, we are on the topic on the NIV literally taking out verses that should be there. Again, there is proof to expose it therefore there is no argument.

Your argument is that having gay translators is sufficient cause to toss out a Bible. This is dangerous theology.

I agree. There are numerous translations available for use today. There are also many different ways to translate them. Some are word for word, some are intent of thought, some are paraphrases and so on. One of the basic issues with accurate translation from the original Greek and Aramaic texts to the English language is that there is no single English word for the Greek or Aramaic word. This makes it necessary to use a phrase that properly satates the intent of the original language. Even modern Greek is different than the ancirnt Greek language.

To say that one translation is better than all the rest is speculative at best. It all depends on what a person is looking for. I personally use 13 different translations which I compare then I choose the one that best states the thought I am trying to express.

In Christ,
John

Karuna- your argument is very well unorganized..you have nothing to back up what you are speaking of. And you speak of that I am thinking that the translators of the KJV being spotless? How so? The Word of God is not the word of man, matter fact the only thing the translators did was translate the Bible. But Im not talking on translators, lets take it back to when the Scripture was being written literally.
All Scripture is God’s breath, or God’s spirit. When the human authors like Moses, or David, or Isaiah, or Paul, wrote Scripture – that Scripture was God’s inspired Word. These men were guided in such a way that what they wrote was exactly what God wanted them to write. God actually spoke through them so that the result was a book that was really written by God. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.” It is “God-breathed.”
There is still no argument here, for you speak of I am implying that the other translators were perfect. How so? When we were all born in iniquity Isaiah written, therefore no translators were spotless but God chosen the people He wanted that was in tune with Him to translate the Textus Receptus and the Greek and Hebrew to English. wow John 13 versions you say? But we are talking on the omission of the words in the NIV Bible. I assure you there is only 1 Perfect Version of God's Word.

Karuna- your argument is very well unorganized...
No, my idea is actually very simple. If the translator being a sinner of any sort disqualifies the translation, then we have no translations which are qualified.

therefore no translators were spotless but God chosen the people He wanted that was in tune with Him to translate the Textus Receptus and the Greek and Hebrew to English. AV1611
Of course, you may choose to believe this, but there is nothing in the canon itself that indicates this nor is this an article of faith among Christians as a whole. If your sect has some sort of private revelation, that's fine, but we can't take your word for it that you've received special revelation outside of the scriptures.

I agree that no translation is perfect, but some are better than others. The NIV does have some serious flaws, one that was pointed out in the original thread was that the name of God YHWH (or Jehovah in English) has been completely removed and replaced with LORD. It is sad that people today do not even recognize that God has a unique and special name. When I asked several people what the name of God is, I got answers like "He has many names" "His name is Lord", etc. Very sad. LORD has replaced YHWH over 7000 times.

If a person is caught up in "precision" when it comes to exact wording, etc., I would recommend using an Interlinear Bible. It has the Hebrew and Greek text right there, along with the literal translation. Then in the margin the sentences are re-structured so it makes sense to us in English. Of course it is a 4 volume set, and then there is the Strongs Concordance and Bible Dictionary that go with it and are invaluable learning tools. But as far as slamming this translation or that one, I think it is a bit inappropriate. I am glad you have convictions, but check out the facts before you go proselytizing your ideas.

God Bless

Agreed. Also, Koine Greek is not that hard to learn and the Biblical language is usually very simple. There are only a few passages that would persistently confound a person who had two, three years of self-teaching from a good book. If we're going to put out so much effort to enshrine a particular English version, it's better spent reading something closer to the original.

Kyng James, the King James Version is a poorly done translation. If you want to learn the actual scriptures, learn Greek and read the Codex Sinaiticus or the Septuagint. If you can't learn Greek, then go to your local library and check out the Anchor Bible Commentaries on the New Testament.

By the way, II Thessalonians is not talking about the New Testament. Did you know there was no New Testament in the early church? It is referring to the Old Testament. It wasn't until a Synod in 397 AD that the New Testament we use today was compiled.

The NIV has a lot of New Age religion interpretations in it,and calls the Spirit the light.

It supports New Age religion theology.

1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer(1 Timothy 4:1-5).

This is the New Age religion, that has departed from the faith, the truth of the Bible, and has an occultic interpretation of the Bible, which will be included in the one world religious system.
They get in contact with their guiding spirit, which is a devil, which is unknown to a lot of them, but known to those who follow black magic.

I just shake my head at you King James only guys, For some reason, because it was authorised by a man, you think it is the only correct version. infact this is not true, The ESV itself is a closer translation. I love the New Living Translation because of it's ease in English and thought for thought.

Word for word does not account for idioms, especially Greek ones. The King James only group don't seem to get the idea that there are word for word translations, there also though for thought. and they all have their purpose.

No one is under the illusion that you can do a bible study with the 'message' yet it is a fantastic read, especially concerning those tightly packed verses of Paul.

Another point is do you use a commentary, does not this help you understand? are you starting to get the idea of paraphrases.

Anyhow, The King James only team , sound like the priesthood, when English (or whatever their language may have been) versions started to appear, because the ordinary man could start to read it for themselves. personally I think you are starting to come into that category. If you are trying to be a purest, ditch the King James and all its mistakes and start reading the Greek, and then enforce everyone to learn that lets make the gospel hard for people to read:)

anyhow, I'm not against the King James, it has served well (400 years next year), and I love my New translations as well :) I am against anyone like the King James only elite group making the gospel hard for a modern English speaking people. How many read Shakespeare for a past time?

I love my NIV, put I must admit I love reading the NLT (New Living Translation) more especialy at work or travelling and it is a looser translation than the NIV. But, my Main Bible is the ESV for its accuracy, and readability, when I say readability it is a word for word translation accounting for idioms, yet easily read by Modern English speakers:)

Good points kyng_james! We must strive to find the best translation.

"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

Revelation 22:19
