Depends what you want I guess.

the BLB is good if you need access to the original texts
If you just need the bible text I'd look for anything that takes up little space and doesn't have lots of reports about crashing :p

It works offline, others you have to be online. Or at least it use to be that way. Some of the others may have changed that by now.

If you pay 4 bucks a month you can get those and more at BibleGateWay

Here's my favorite Bible app
ESV it's nice to have a Bible with you all the time so you can read it when ever you get some time.

on my phone i usually use this one -

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.konibee.bible&hl=en

com.konibee.bible_icon_24.jpg

light, stable, no ads, simple, easy to use, searchable, free, offline.
no idea why their icon is cheeseburger love but w/e

i have another one that has a lot of commentaries, maps and greek/hebrew resources built in that is more memory-heavy but with fewer available translations, but usually i just want to read the word - so i have found this "openbibles" is very good for that.

The best I have found is MySword. You can download a lot of modules for it. I've tried most the apps out there and it is by far the best in my opinion.

Hi Johnny,

The
Olive Tree app comes free and has a lot of free books that come with it like devotionals and a few books by various authors like John Piper, John Calvin, John Owen, Martin Luther, John Newton, John and Charles Wesley, David Brainard, William Cowper and Charles Spurgeon.

The ESV bible is one of the versions that's free, I know that there's an NIV, the Net bible, HCSB version, ASV, RV, KJV, NKJV, YLT and there may be a few others,
there are some commentaries that are free like Matthew Henry. Philo of Alexandria is free. And they run specials all the time and have some books as low as $0.99 In case anyone's interested, here's their website. https://www.olivetree.com

I use WordSearch & recently got BibleWorks, which does a greater in-depth study on Greek/Hebrew words.

For just getting started, I would recommend biblehub. com. It has commentaries, dictionaries, lexicons, & several Bible versions.

It does well at word & phrase searching, & shows several Bibles at once to view agreement of the scripture in the translations.

When he said bible app my mind automatically went to bible study app. I agree that for just reading there are others that I would prefer but studying I like it the best.

Hard to find a good one, a lot like the olive tree is difficult to understand how the app works. Others have ads, I'd suggest just buying a proper Bible from ibooks or the google play bookstore. Download it onto your phone so you can read it offline.

You can get good Bibles for free on the ibooks or google play bookstore too :)

The tree structure, the way you choose book, chapter and verse in mysword is my favorite of all the Bible apps i've tried, besides all the resources you can pack into it :)
