May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Gal 6:14

For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.
Phil 3:18

having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.
Col 2:14

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:2

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
1 Peter 2:24

The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
Gal 5:6

The cross enables us to die to sins and live for righteousness.

Righteousness means love

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Gal 5:14

We can love because God loved us and saved us through the cross.
Amen

The cross is our power house.

Imagine your best friend, the one who knew you and wanted the best for you, gave
their life by pushing you out of the way of a car and took the blow themselves.

Now that is love. It has a viseral impact on your life. Jesus who had hands and feet
like me, who grew up and learned how to be part of this society, partook, stayed
sinless and walked in love. And after doing all this, made friends, taught, healed
and finally died that I might have life. And over such a short period of time 3 years,
with such a small group of people. Nothing was planned or manipulated, it happened
so quickly they did not have time to really take it in.

And when it was over, the sense of loss and danger was palpable.
But He returned, and rose and the Holy Spirit came, and brought heaven to earth.

Thousands converted, churches founded, lives changed forever.
That was the power of the cross. Eternity touching mortality.
