...and no more of the one described in the video. Heretic ear scratchers like the one referred to in the video need exposed and rebuked, and others need to be warned of them.

I hope many of you appreciate this short clip:

Joel is a set of teeth with a smile that fleeces people with a false hope....I watched him refuse to say Islam was wrong and leads to hell....in an interview....a real snake in the grass IMV

I don't agree with what is in the OP and for the below reasons. But people are allowed to believe what they choose.

Take a look at this video below as I believe it shows exactly what is really being said by Joel. We really need to be very careful in the things we allow others to say about those in the body of Christ that speak differently then we do. Some people have a different ministry then others and are encouraging others. They are not pastors and serve a different function in the body of Christ.

Personally I do not listen to Joel Osteen that often but I do know where his messages of encouraging people to trust in the goodness an love of God for them has encouraged others to stop listening to the lies of the enemy and to start having hope in God again.

Some people have been beat up in life for so long that they need encouragement to get back up and start having hope again.

From there - they need to be fed the proper nutrients of growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ.

If we "delight in the Lord" - He will give us His desires in our heart and that dream that He has put in there needs to be pursued. That is the other side of Joel's message of hope in this world that needs to be said.

We don't pursue worldly desires originating from our own flesh - we have His desires birthed in us. All of us need both at different times in our life.

This video really shows the distortion and "twists" that can come by the way some view what is being said by others and also not recognizing that they have a different ministry then others do.

And I saw Larry King trying his best to get Joel to alienate an entire audience of Jews. Doing everything he could to turn off an entire lost Religion to Christianity. That's not how Paul preached at Athens.

Nope. King wasn't trying to get him to alienate Jews, he was getting Osteen to justify him as a Jew. Almost everyone knows Osteen wouldn't stand up for the truth, King included. He, King was merely accumulating to himself a teacher to scratch his ears, avoiding sound doctrine. Osteen was perfectly up for the task.

Here is Steve Lawsons witness to an unbeliever........

If you want to receive this gift it will cost you the total commitment of all that you are to the Lord Jesus Christ. There are many here who think they are saved, but are not; they have never really done business with God….I want to single you out in the midst of the crowd. Have you taken up a cross in order to follow after Christ? Have you recognized your own sinfulness, acknowledged that God’s judgment is true, have you acknowledged Christ’s right to rule your life? Have you submitted to the Lordship of Christ? Have you really come to the end of yourself? Because Jesus does not begin until you end.” (The Cost of Discipleship, It Will Cost You Everything, Resolved Conference, Feb. 2007)

Seems to me he has the cart before the Horse.

Steve Lawson is much more dangerous than little Ole Joel. Joel is easy to spot. Steve has his false teaching very cleverly disguised.

I wanted to clarify the above in brown...

All of us both need to be encouraged when we are beaten down by life and the lies of the enemy to trust in God again - that He will be faithful to us in this life as well as in the one to come. This is the hope that some people preach to others. That is one side of the coin.

The other side that we need "after we get this hope in God back" - is that it is not our own worldly desires that is to be pursued but the dreams of hope that He has birthed in our hearts. There is a vast difference between the two IMO. I believe we all need both at different times in our life.

I also do not agree with everything any minister or denomination says about every subject. I also believe there are ways to say things better so that things do not get taken out of context or used by the enemy to mis-represent what is really being said.

I am hoping that in 5 years I wouldn't agree with everything I think I know now as the Lord reveals more of His love and grace and true nature to me. I love and believe in "hyper-repenting".

what is really going on here, is the op saying HIS truth is truth and he will prove it by calling others heretics or blasphemers or false teachers/prophets

why is it so twiddle dee dee difficult to post threads that are GOOD and have something GOOD to say

the model here seems to be 'let's rip apart everyone in order to prove how aw gee whiz shucks perfect we are'

some call Joel Osteen 'gospel light' and maybe he is, but how is constant negative so called preaching and teaching glorifying God? I've noticed if you try to have a thread here that has give and take in it, actual discussion in it, it will be attacked and taken off course so far that you need a map of the galaxies to bring it back

can anyone say something good about Joel for a change? if you are jealous of his white teeth, may I suggest Crest 3Dwhite or even a dentist who will make an impression of your teeth and give you some peroxide gel to put in the tray and you can slap it on your chompers and they should come out whiter

before I became aware of what some 'hard core' (cough cough) Christians think about Joel, I actually found him encouraging during a time in my life some years back, when that was just what I needed. I was already suffering because of all the helpful Christians who try to rip out your eyes to get what they think is a log while whacking you every time they turn around, with the sequoia sticking out of their own eyes

I can almost predict who is going to jump on what thread and say the same things they say on every thread

sharpen your knives cause it's like dessert to some of you

and no I did not know what Grace 777 wrote before I posted so I am not backing him up

I usually read the op, skim remarks, make my own post if I want to, then go back and read in more detail

I can assure you that I am a promoter and practicer of independent thought

ask my husband if you don't believe me :p

Nope, he, Steven Lawson is preaching God's truth.

The content of the video is encouraging, it practices 2 Timothy 3 and 4 of reproving and rebuking, something people who can't handle sound doctrine loathe, and is good content. If you can't handle exposing false teachers, false teachings, and following Scriptural instruction, then don't read my threads because they will offend you. :)

Oh come now! You're talking American media. Those kinds of men don't fit the propaganda narrative.

I think we all owe Joel an apology

Not only Benny Hinn and Steve Lawson who misrepresented Joel as well

I don't have the energy to listen to the actual conversation but we should if we think to offer our opinions

it's a lesson and a reminder
