Did Everyone Go Home,

Acts:2
[SUP]44 [/SUP]All the believers were together and had everything in common. [SUP]45 [/SUP]They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. [SUP]46 [/SUP]Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, [SUP]47 [/SUP]praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

All the believers were together in communion. Is that scenario
even remotely possible now. Could it ever be possible. Upon
reflection, was that what was happening before the death of
our Lord and continued after. And if it was, what happened to
that scenario. Is it possible we started to do too much too soon
as a Jesus movement. Perhaps we started building an empire
before there were enough believers who were adequately
initiated into that scenario. It seems that Jesus meant that we
should build communities. Then in time, rather than building
communities, we instituted rules and regulations to communities
from afar. Yes Jesus wanted us to spread the good news but
did we skip the process of community and jumped into making
words that we needed to follow before we properly established
the end game of Christ our Lord. Where has that initial scenario
gone.

Col.3 3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. [SUP]4 [/SUP]When Christ, who is your[SUP][a][/SUP] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

It would depend on how you define "resurrection." I believe the resurrection is the next life - it is eternity. It is where we will live. It will be a paradise.

I caution you though: Paradise isn't a matter of where you are and what you have, materially. Paradise is the life the Lord provides you with, along with the fellowship. There is no way to appreciate this paradise until we learn to obey the two great commandments (Matt 22:34-40).

I long for meaningful connection in Christian community and have struggled to put down roots. I'm guessing it's partly a combination of my issues and our lifestyles in general in society that tend to isolate us.

Jesus taught us that Satan rules over this world, so to a certain degree, we have to keep a safe distance from the world. I do get a lot of community from my church.

We all have issues holding us back, it takes a life time of refining and burning
away the dross. :)

Resurrection, to me is living in eternity with Jesus and the perfected us.

That will be nothing like the here and now.
I like to think we will be able to see with perfect eyes - all the colour and light spectrums,
we only see a small window with human eyes. The same goes with perfect ears. Perfect
senses etc. Perfect mind and way of thinking.

Gods love is perfect, imagine a life with no stress, sorrow, anxiety, panic,
no burden, all fear gone, no fear of ill health, no fear of money worries, or
losing your job, feeling fully accepted, no guilt, no feelings of being Judged.
No feeling inadequate, no trying to work out the motives of others, no pain.
Just 100% perfect absolute peace. That's what God's love is like. I know as I have
felt it and it's overwhelming beyond description, nothing else matters.

1 Corinthians 2:6-11 NKJV
[6] However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the
wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
[7] But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which
God ordained before the ages for our glory,

[8] which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would
not have crucified the Lord of glory. [9] But as it is written: "Eye has not seen,
nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has
prepared for those who love Him."

[10] But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches
all things, yes, the deep things of God. [11] For what man knows the things
of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows
the things of God except the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 13:11-13 NKJV
[11] When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought
as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. [12] For now
we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then
I shall know just as I also am known. [13] And now abide faith, hope, love,
these three; but the greatest of these is love.
