What do you do with these?

1 Thes 5:2) For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

2 Pet 3:10) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

These passages detail the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. In Luke 21, these days are called, "the days of vengeance."

hmm, except Israel has 2000 odd years under Babylonian rule. The Kingdom can only come (the stone in Daniel) when the Babylonian Kingdoms have served their time, and Israel has served her period of subjugation. That is why the Church is not ruling now as per the disciples' question:

Acts 1:6
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
In your view how did Ezekiel bearing Israel and Judah's iniquity?

Nehemiah6 said the decree was given by Cyrus... if Cyrus gave it then it was given in his day.

I was giving alternatives that match 70 WEEKS as the bible says it's 70 weeks and not 70 weeks of years.

DO YOU EVEN READ MY POSTS?

Cyrus gave a Decree in 536 BE to Rebuild the TEMPLE, not Jerusalem.

Artaxeres gave the Decree in 445 BC to Rebuild Jerusalem and the Walls which took 49 YEARS (a week of Years); no one today could accomplish even an fraction of that in one week of days. USE YOUR HEAD already.

What year was Jesus born?
What year did Jesus ride into Jerusalem on a donkey?
33 years before He rode in on a donkey, and the Triumphal entry into Jerusalem was 33 AD.

Have you notice you are going further and further from a firm foundation in the WORD of GOD to cling to your false teachings?

What week comes after the 62nd week? Seriously, it goes like this - 61st week, 62nd week, 63rd week and so on. How do you see it as anything other than the 63rd week?
That is 7 weeks of years, PLUS 62 weeks of years = 69 weeks of years.

IT SAYS AFTER THAT MESSIAH WAS CUT OFF DURING THE TIME PERIOD BETWEEN THE 69TH WEEK AND THE 70TH WEEK, WHICH BEGINS IN VERSE 27. APPARENTLY GOD DID NOT THINK THE JEWS NEEDED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CHRUCH AGE.

I believe the day of the Lord was the first coming of Christ.... the SUN of righteousness.

Think again.

Isaiah 13:6 (CSBBible)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Wail! For the day of the LORD is near.

It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

Isaiah 13:6 (CSBBible)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Wail! For the day of the LORD is near.

It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

Jeremiah 46:10 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

Ezekiel 13:5 (KJV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.

Joel 2:11 (CSBBible)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] The LORD makes his voice heard
in the presence of his army.

His camp is very large;
those who carry out his command are powerful.

Indeed, the day of the LORD is terrible and dreadful?—

who can endure it?

Zechariah 14:2-4 (CSBBible)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.
[SUP]3[/SUP] Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations as he fights on a day of battle.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. The Mount of Olives will be split in half from east to west, forming a huge valley, so that half the mountain will move to the north and half to the south.

Acts 2:19-20 (YLT)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] and I will give wonders in the heaven above, and signs upon the earth beneath--blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke,
[SUP]20 [/SUP] the sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the day of the Lord--the great and illustrious;

1 Thessalonians 5:2 (ESV)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

2 Thessalonians 2:2 (CSBBible)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] not to be easily upset or troubled, either by a prophecy or by a message or by a letter supposedly from us, alleging that the day of the Lord has come.

2 Peter 3:10 (CSBBible)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, the elements will burn and be dissolved, and the earth and the works on it will be disclosed.

lol,after,soon,near,before,who’s counting?

2 Peter 3:3-4 (ESV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

2 Peter 3:8-10 (ESV)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

BY THE LORD'S CLOCK IT IS ONLY NEARING THE END OF DAY TWO SINCE HIS ASCENSION.

Here you go again, multiple verses that don't prove your point. I could post all the same verses and say AD 70 and would be not better off than you.

BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT PAYING ATTENTION or have no common sense. THE FIRST SEVEN WEEKS took 49 YEARS to complete the task. THAT MEANS they are all WEEKS OF YEARS NOT DAYS. REBUILDING JERUSALEM AND WALLS with all the ROCK they had quarry into BLOCKS, in that day and age, THAT 49 YEARS WAS FAST.

You were the one that made the dumb statement that you Believe the DAY of the LORD refers to the First Coming, when all the Scriptures I pointed out CLEARLY REVEAL THAT IT REFERS TO THE SECOND COMING.

To prove the point of the seventy 'sevens' as being seventy sets of seven years, we have two events that are mentioned in Daniel 9:24-27.

1). 7 sevens from the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem

2). 62 sevens, which at the end of the Messiah was cut off

The issuing of the decree to rebuild and restore Jerusalem was issued by king Xertaxes by request of Nehemiah, which were the letters that Nehemiah requested for safe passage through the Trans-Euphrates and letters to cut down wood from the kings forest. The accepted date for this is 446 BC. So lets do the math:

7 x 7 = 49 years

62 x 7 = 434 years

Total = 483 years

446 BC minus 483 yrs = 37 AD

With the calendar changes this puts us right in the ball park of the Messiah being cut off at the end of 483 years or 37 AD, without taking into account the calendar changes. When interpreting them as seventy 'sevens' of weeks, there is no fulfillment, neither for the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem nor for the Messiah being crucified.

The only conclusion that fits is seventy weeks of years or 490 years, of which 483 have been fulfilled when Messiah was crucified, with the last set of seven delayed to be fulfilled in conjunction with the end of the age described in Dan.9:27

The bottom line is that if you count back seventy weeks from the time the Messiah was crucified, it should lead to when the decree was issued to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, but it does not.

Where do you get your science fiction? You are a disgrace to the board, and an iniquitous liar.
The Temple was rebuilt by 516 BC.
I know you Futurists shun History, but if you are going to employ it, do so honestly

This is the best ever discussion on pretrib rapture or Mid trib. A must watch to settle your mind.
Very well conducted with phone in input, so draw your own conclusion and see how the one guy cringes along the way... so in the end has to cover by saying a prayer. No argument here just straight forward points of view.

I'd go with 6 or 5 BC because King Herod supposedly died in 4 BC. However, there has been some recent evidence to suggest Herod died in 1 BC. The exact date of Christ's birth is recorded in the stars.
