Does anybody know of people that don't think they need to follow directions putting things together? Things like a shed for instance. One time a man asked me if i would help him and his son-in-law put a shed together. We was cruising along putting it together, i was doing washers and screws, got that done and said where we at. guys son-in-law said we're winging it its not that hard. So eye started looking at directions and noticed we was way ahead of ourselves and would need to undo half of what we had done to do a step that was missed. Really glad we had not gone much farther winging it.

Reminds me of when my brothers took apart our toys and put them back together without instructions.,, there were always "extra" pieces.

Sometimes I think people look at other members of the church as "extra pieces", when God's plan includes all of us for the Church to function as it should.

I was reading and read this passage which made me think...wow, what if this forum had more threads with these type of messages on the forefront?

We get good inspiring threads but they fall to the back, because people are too busy arguing or hunting witches.

Anyway here is the passage. She just finished telling us how she broke her arm, blamed and broke up with, her boyfriend and dropped all music classes because she could play.

"While there, I heard a message reminding me how much God loved me. I had nothing to offer him in return. In fact, I couldn't even put on my own deodorant... I had to ask my roommate for help. But the speaker said God didn't want anything from me; he had something for me. I was God's child, and he wanted me to stop running so he could love me. The speaker was so inspiring that when he announced a mission trip to Mongolia, my friend and I signed up. Since I wasn't of any use to anyone else, I thought, if God can use me, I might as well go. "

Going back to reading and chores now.

God bless and keep you all.
.thanks for taking the time to read my babbling.

Need motivation to read this book and reflect and I find it easier with company.

My answer is unfortunately simple. Love does not stop the effects of sin, or resolve
this world into heaven.

Love takes the same situations and bears the hurts and pain, and works it through
because in His Kingdom these things will be no more, and the blessing we have is
more precious than the cost we have to bear to get it.

Now if this is true, and we get the vision, is a strange way the world should not
change because love is about overcoming despite the difficulty, that praise and
worship are there because God is worthy of all praise and honour, not because
it makes things easier for us.

The enemies argument is power and domination are all that matter, not love
and care, not boundaries and principles, humbling and choosing the lower path.

It is why God does not give us the power to heal all, because it would corrupt
everything, and make the world into a quick fix self indulgent existance.

Look at what the phenomenal wealth and power we all have, but it makes society
more divided and unhappy than ever before, and the fights for this domination all
the stronger.

There is a time to be born, a time to live and a time to die. God bless you.

Follow directions, or follow the Director??

I am starting reading this book by Laura story "when God doesn't fix it" and wanted to discuss some of the things she says.

Maybe examine if it's biblically based and how it can help us live our lives for God's glory.

What are your thoughts?

Good video post Ariel. Keep us updated on the book. sounds good!

Lol so she talks about her interview to a conservative Bible college..it made me laugh so i will share...

"Pastor Despres then admitted that when he interviewed me for the mission trip, he wasn't sure if he should take me.

He told me, "I prayed, God, I don't know anything she can offer our team.' but the more I prayed, the more I sensed God saying you needed to go. This trip proved to me that God is doing something inside of you."

Skip forward...

"Before the admissions interview, Pastor Despres reminded me that it was a conservative institution. But I didn't care what their political beliefs were; I just wanted to use my talents to tell people about Jesus. I took the application paperwork and went to the interview.

'tell us about your background' the admissions officer said.

I filled him in on my background, the mission trip and how Pastor Despres had recommended the school.

"Have you drunk any alcohol in the past year?"
" oh yeah, I've drunk a lot of alcohol in the past year, I was a freshman at the university of south Carolina."

He arched an eyebrow and wrote something on his pad. "Have you smoked a cigarette?"
"Yep."
"How many times have you been to church in the last year?"
"Including the times I went in Mongolia?"

By now, he was furiously scribbling on his pad. I wondered why he was asking all these questions. I called Adrian when I left and told him about the interview. I could hear him laugh. "Laura, when I said conservative, I wasn't talking about politics."

Right on, it can be hurtful to the piece, and the Church as well.

These words spoke to my heart today. Hope they bless you too.

Pg.47

"So what does that mean when we beg, plead, and pray on our knees for God to restore what has been broken now?

Let's go back to those sick travelers waiting outside of Capernaum. They wanted physical healing without spiritual healing. Restoration without redemption. But Jesus wanted them to understand that he was Savior who had come to restore their relationship to his Father.

Yes Jesus could have healed all the broken legs, ear infectukns, strep throat, breast cancer and indigestion that was coughed up before him. But that would only have been a temporal healing. It wouldn't have healed their relationship with God. Jesus wanted more for them. He wanted to restore their souls and our them back in relationship with his Father. Jesus had a much bigger mission than torn ligaments and athlete's foot.
He was God's representative on earth, and he only had a short time to reach as many people as he could and to train his disciples to carry his message of redemption after he left.

Jesus didn't slink out of the city. He avoided the crowds because he knew what they needed more than they did. He went to be with his Father, so he could be reminded that despite his love for and his desire to heal all those hurting peope, he had a bigger mission."

Psalm 43v3 Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me, let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.

Myth: when things look dark, God is gone.

Truth: when things look dark, God's light shines the brightest.

This is salvation and the Kingdom. So many do not seem to see this though it is there all
the time. He opened the door to us becoming like Him, but the door is not arriving, it is
the start of the Way.

I remember the accusation that I declare or boast in what I have achieved, but what I am
declaring is who God is and what He offers.

Peoples response means they feel very far from this place and so condemned.
But Christ's answer is to love and accept you where one is. Direction is everything,
and learning to walk is one step at a time, Amen for His grace and love.

No their response is because you are unclear and mostly place the focus on YOU and what you believe and then mention God as an after thought.

Just read above post as if someone else wrote it and you will see what I mean.

Then you falsely accuse people of not being as godly as you by saying "they are far from this place" you believe yourself to be.

Hate to tell you, but you fall short too with your constant judgement of others and snide remarks you claim are innocent and not meant the way they are taken.
.that might have worked the first few times, but after constantly being shown that you do it....why don't you stop?

This thread isn't about you but I will help you out if you really want my attention.

Why does this post have to start with what how you believe folks have wronged you? What's up with the constant playing of the victim?
declaring is who God is and what He offers.
okay let's hear it.,.

Peoples response means they feel very far from this place and so condemned.
nope didn't hear it, just you condemning people here.

But Christ's answer is to love and accept you where one is.
It's a shame your response isn't like God's

Direction is everything,
and learning to walk is one step at a time, Amen for His grace and love.
Amen for that.

Sorry but your comments invite strife.
