I don't see any of the promises of the Lord as to His keeping power of His own in this writing. Nor do I see the scripture of the chastisement of God on His Sons.

I do believe that the Lord brings us to the point of loving Holiness in our life. But, it's not of law. Am just not sure that John Burton really understands true grace.

I do trust John Bevere, so am going to try and get his book recommended on this site.

Hi Stonesoffire, I will post 3 scriptures here below.

[h=1]1 Peter 4:17New King James Version (NKJV)[/h] [SUP]17 [/SUP]For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

[h=1]1 Corinthians 11:31-32New King James Version (NKJV)[/h] [SUP]31 [/SUP]For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. [SUP]32 [/SUP]But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

Romans 2
[SUP]2 [/SUP]But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? [SUP]4 [/SUP]Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? [SUP]5 [/SUP]But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, [SUP]6 [/SUP]who “will render to each one according to his deeds”:[SUP][a][/SUP] [SUP]7 [/SUP]eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; [SUP]8 [/SUP]but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, [SUP]9 [/SUP]tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; [SUP]10 [/SUP]but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. [SUP]11 [/SUP]For there is no partiality with God.

Try fill in the second part of the Romans 8v1 that you conveniently leave out of your signature to force fit your doctrine. Then you will have a more complete picture.

The scripture in 1 Peter 4 about judgment in the house of God must come first is a beautiful promise of the sealing of God's people off before judgment comes.

1 Peter 4:17-18 (KJV)

[SUP]17 [/SUP] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

[SUP]18 [/SUP] And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Peter was the apostle to the Hebrews and Peter being a good Jewish man would have heard this spoken off in the OT.

It is a hebraism ( expression ) from Ezekiel 9:4-6 in which they had set aside the jewish elders and marked them before judgment came..these ones were saved from the judgment....

In other words we get protected/marked by the Spirit of God before judgment comes ..but judgment starts at the house of God first by us being "marked"...that's the sign that judgment is coming to the ungodly as 1 Peter 4:17-18 says.

Verses 17-18 is simply contrasting those saved verses the unsaved.

The whole context from 1 Peter 4 from verse 12 on is talking about enduring trials as a Christian and ends with this truth below.

1 Peter 4:19 (NASB)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.

So, 1 Peter 4:17-18 is an awesome scripture talking about the faithfulness of God to seal and protect His children! It's a beautiful picture of us being sealed by the Holy Spirit before God brings His judgment on sin.

We have a good, good Father! and a mighty salvation in Jesus our Lord!

There is no second part in the early texts. But when when we borrow it from verse 4 it must not be seen as a condition, but simply as a statement of fact, a consequence.

The Christian does not walk after the flesh but after the Spirit

No, I've fallen at the feet of Christ, knowing that only He is able to save me. There is absolutely nothing I can do to save myself.

Oh I see. Once saved always saved shalt be the whole law. 80% of the discussion is actual scriptures. Don't like them?

You might want to read the sticky post at the top of the forum. (The second post, last I checked.)

To be clear, they are using two different definitions for "hypergrace" -- somehow Calvinism got into the mixed, and the one you're talking about. One thing for sure, the ones hosting this site are very against anyone they think is talking about "hypergrace," and you are.

Hi Stonesoffire, I will post 3 scriptures here below.

1 Peter 4:17New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]17 [/SUP]For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

This is the judgment of suffering as a Christian, as the context makes crystal clear. It is CONTRASTED with the judgment on the unsaved,

1 Corinthians 11:31-32New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]31 [/SUP]For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. [SUP]32 [/SUP]But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
This specifically SAYS we will not be condemned with the world

This is a part of Paul's argument that there is none righteous, no not one. However it does demonstrate that the true believer will receive glory, honour and peace for the good that he has done, whether Jew or Gentile..

Ok, I have read the sticky. No problem. However it is still being discussed on plenty of other threads. So how to address heresy ......?

And two old-timers are quick to make sure the newbie isn't given his say.

Once again, it is always about think-like-us-or-else.
