I'm of the opinion that Universalism requires belief in Reincarnation.

I hope not..

Universalism is a deception...

The devil is known for inspiring ear tickling deceptions like universalism..

May the members of CC be protected from such deceptions..

Jesus taught the "universal" offering of Salvation to all.

That is not the same "Universalism" I reject.

There are a couple passages that mention confessing Jesus is Lord. Romans 10:9 - If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Those who accept him as their lord will be saved. The other is Philippians 2:11 - at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Those who accepted Jesus and those who rejected him will acknowledge he is Lord, not everyone is saved. Many are on the path to destruction

As C. S. Lewis would say, “There is no doctrine which I would more willingly remove from Christianity the doctrine of hell, if it lay in my power. But it has the full support of Scripture and, specially, of our Lord’s own words; it has always been held by Christendom; and it has the support of reason”

If Universalism (as it is taught by that "church".) was true, there would be no need to preach it... or ANYTHING. It would all just happen automatically.

Yes, and no. I'm never going to be able to swallow the "torment in a lake of fire as punishment" preaching.

Not as much the hell as such as its everlasting damnation without any possibility to get out of it.

I think its possible to think that the hell will not be eternal and unbelievers will be destroyed. But to say they will be all saved in the end... its too long shot from the Bible to our wishes...

As much as it may make people uncomfortable eternal everlasting torment in hell is not temporal same as eternal everlasting life isn't temporal.

Lol. Muzungu, he definitely has a point. more than one or two question marks (?) or exclamation marks (!) can look really rude, even if it wasn't trying to be.

that seems to be the plain teaching of the new testament!!!!!!!!!! but i have a few questions for you::
why is hell so overlooked in the torah of moses and old testament?????????? such an important thing should be mentioned on every page!!!!!!!! especially to adam and eve after the fall, first thing that should be mentioned but why is it not?????????? and one last thing what about the majority of the world who has never heard of jesus like all the millions of africans asians and americans who died while paul was preaching in roman empire only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

i hope someone can answer those it would help persuade me to the so called traditional position....................

So many disputes would be solved if Christians would simply accept the Truth of this verse...

The "Lowest Parts of the Earth" is the Bottomless Pit.

The WOMB!

That is where we come from!

Question is...

How did we get there?

;)
