Several people have said to read and meditate in the scripture, and to pray.

I think these simple tools are the solution to most of our problems.

1. WORD:
Spend more time in the bible... read, listen to sermons as much as you can, do bible studies, go to church etc. (Scripture cleans out our minds and hearts, as we read and meditate.)

2. PRAYER:
Pray, and ask your friends and family to also pray.

3. FELLOWSHIP:
Fellowship with other believers to encourage you... at church, out with friends, online, by phone, whatever.

There is no magic bullet.
We just have to MAKE USE OF the simple and powerful tools God has given us.
And we have to use them CONTINUALLY.
I would add to this list Evangelize instruct sinners in the ways of the Lord. Getting out and sharing the Lord's ways can help get your mind off of yourself. Always remember, that no weapon formed against you will prosper, the Lord is our standard or banner, it what armies took into battle so that other soldiers knew where the others were. It always went before the army to show that they in control, once the standard or banner was captured the army knew they were defeated. But the Lord is our standard, so we will never be defeated.

I am getting upset because i dont understand my mom was protected of this and I was not I begged God help me not be afraid to read those verses on the unpardonable sin and i dealt with hell and i know some got scared but didnt go through this torment why am i dealing with this i came to Jesus the truth and the light not deal with bad thoughts against Him thats not fairrrrrrrrrrrrr :(((( I dont want to hear what that stupud unpardoable sin is i just want this stupid fear to go away. :(((
I dealt with the unpardonable sin verse during my conversion. I was terrified. Something that I hope will give you some comfort is that if you are SCARED you have committed the sin, you haven't. Lost people don't fear God, and they don't fear the consequences of their sin and blasphemy.

In my understanding, the unpardonable sin is sin unto death. Denying Christ to the point of death and never having faith or a conversion. Another interpretation is that it's impossible in this day and age to commit that sin. In the context of when Jesus was speaking of the sin, you had the unbelieving Jews denying he was doing his works by the power of the Holy Spirit even though they were eyewitnesses.

The former makes more since to me since unbelief is the only thing that gets you sent to hell. And it has to be unbelief unto death. You are quite obviously a believer struggling with and hating your sins. This is a hallmark of a converted Christian.

There has been a lot of good advice here in dealing with your fear and thoughts.

Maxwell had some great additions to the advice already given.

Unfortunately, no one can tell you that this time of struggle will be easy. It won't.

You may have to give up some things to help rid yourself of the thoughts. Immersion in the Word is a definite comfort. The thoughts will be there while you try and read and study, while you pray, but they get quieter and quieter over time. It's a time of refinement in my opinion.

Instead of listening to secular music, listen to Christian music. Instead of watching a bad movie, watch a sermon. Pray, read your bible, fellowship, give up anything that could be impeding your walk with God.

I had to do all of this before I found comfort.

Again, if it is causing crippling fear and anxiety, depression, and so on, you should look for a counselor. Maybe your pastor and even a doctor.

No, it's not fair. But many of us have to deal with things that aren't fair.
It was not fair that in my 20s I was hospitalized for hypertension. And it's not fair that because of my hypertension my kidneys got ruined. Wasn't fair that even on dialysis I was constantly sick while others were still healthy enough to work. Wasn't fair that even while being on dialysis I had all sorts of other medical problems. I could go on, quite a bit, with all the things that were unfair and that went wrong during that period, and the years after. Even to this day, actually.
It sucks. And I'm sorry you're dealing with it all. But life isn't fair. I hope you can find some peace somehow.

DON'T GIVE IN. You're being attacked. I'm in the same boat... Heck we're all in the same boat. But what needs to be done is to acknowledge that we are in a war. We need to fight to capture our thoughts and give them to Yeshua in obedience. I want to read Joyce Meyer's book battlefield of the mind and start looking into Derek Prince as well, but we need to get a grasp on Spiritual warfare to fight back, with the Holy Spirit as our general. Learn to praise more, to worship and pray more and immerse yourself in the Word. This is all I have to offer right now as I am new to this myself. I'm walking eggshells on the subject because there are definitely people who tend to get really weird on this.

I can't get the books I need right now because I'm overdrawn.

Thanks.
I do not believe that scripture references physical healing, though. Context does not fit. Though I believe God can heal I do not believe He will heal me.

The name made me laugh when I thought of it. (=

I want to understand how to look at the heavenly things. how do you think positive thoughts when evil thoughts try to change it oh man its tormenting i just want pure thoughts why evil come at me. I rebuke it and it leaves but comes back harder. I dont want evil to confuse me. Please help me.
This is something I have given a lot of thought to and its a very important issue because it can harm our relationship with the Lord and make us feel alienated from him, I struggle with this daily.
Here are some scripture that may help.
* Psalms 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
1. Its important to realize that we can't control how we feel, this is why the Bible never tells us to feel a certain
way, its also true that we can't control the thoughts that come into our minds. So what's the answer? To the
best of my knowledge it's as follows:
a. We need to saturate our minds with the Word of God, I'm not speaking of a casual reading of the Bible, I'm
speaking of a detailed study of the scriptures. If possible get with an older believer, have them teach you
how to do this.
* 2 Tim. 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved onto to God as a workman that does not need to be
ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.
* Romans 12:2 and do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...
b. We can't control our thoughts but we can make a moment by moment, day by day decision on the things we chose to dwell on:
* Phil. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is lovley
whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise let your
let your mind DWELL on these things.
* Romans 8:5 those who are of the spirit set their MINDS on things of the spirit.....
* Col. 3:2 Set your MINDS on things above.
* There are many passages like these.

There is much more to say on this but that's is a start.
Check also 2 Cor. 10:3,5 Its speaks of Spiritual war and taking our thoughts captive.
Also remember to practice these things:
* Study the scriptures
* Pray a lot
* Get other believers in your life in a meaningful and personal way.
* Develop a servants attitude.
* Be open to God's correction in your life.
I hope this is helpful, if so let me know if I can help further as this particular subject is dear to my heart.

I'm sorry, I know how hard that is. Sometimes I still struggle with this. One thing I find helps is either listening to, singing, or thinking the words to this song. I don't know why but it just drives the worst of the thoughts/temptation away. I don't know if it will help you, but I'm posting it here in case it does:

You have mentioned your mother before. Is your mother aware of what you are struggling with? And if she is, how is she helping you? If she isn't, why don't you go to her and tell her

Look at you!!! You are good at encouraging and reminding others of who they are in CHRIST!

What about yourself??? Why do you doubt that this is also who you are and how GOD sees you in CHRIST

fill your head with good things, and be patient, and persevere.
light overcomes darkness. even a small light in a black room, lights it, even if dimly - shadows remain until the full light comes, but you can't 'turn on a darkness' in the sunshine and extinguish light with it. light overcomes darkness, physical fact

if our minds suddenly 'flipped a switch' and no wrong thought ever passed through them again, it would be miraculous, and miracles are things that people do not accomplish in and of themselves.

like Ugly pointed out, we are people being redeemed out of sinful flesh, and it is natural that that flesh we still live in and have become crucified to still expresses itself in us. we all wait for Him to return and finally redeem our bodies completely ((re: Romans 8:23)). but the fact that you recognize these things as evil means your heart has turned away from them! if you grieve over sin, you are done with it - no longer loving it, as the world does ((re: 1 Peter 4:1))

we have all spent most of our lives being indoctrinated by the god of the age in the ways of the world and the thoughts and desires of the world, through everything the world admires and reaches for, and every human philosophy the world follows. is this all overturned and forgotten in an instant? maybe it is - and if it is, it is the work of God, not your work. what you can do personally about it is to change your intake:
just like it's some time after you eat food that your body processes this into useful energy, that the process takes time, and like when you exercise you are not immediately strong, but it takes repetition and time, if you 'change your diet' and your 'exercise' spiritually then after a time your mind will see the effect.

don't be filled with worry and anxiety. those things are of the world too.
trust God, recognize that He has opened your eyes to what is good and what is evil, thank Him for it, and pursue goodness, leaving evil behind. and be patient! patience, too, isn't accomplished overnight ha!

wait for and hope in Him; He is faithful and works in His own perfect time -- the one who hungers and thirsts after righteousness will be filled; He promises!!

Remember, if our heart condemns us, HE IS GREATER THAN OUR HEART...because HE alone knows all things

HE knows what you suffer and JE does not overlook that you are suffering in this...

What did HE say about it?

read 1 John 5
HE said let not your heart be troubled even as HE said that in this world you will have trouble

HE has overcome for us
Whay do we need to do?

Wait and trust in THE LORD and REMAIN in HIM

Read Philippians 4
and rest in HIM
Be still and know that HE is GOD
and sovereign over all things

The old "garbage in, garbage out" saying is true here. Be careful what you are putting in your head, what you are watching, thinking, and so on. Don't give sin an opportunity.
we may put garbage in and not see the effect of it for quite a while. same goes for putting goodness in - there's a processing time. so change the intake, and what for 'the machine' to process. how long have we all been growing up and growing older while on the garbage intake?

i don't know how y'alls plumbing is, but when i turn on the hot water in my sink, it takes a little while before it comes out warm. it has to flush out all the cool water that's been sitting in the pipes.

Every time you have a bad intrusive thought
pray LORD you know my heart. Do not let these lies rule over me. You are THE TRUTH and I desire to follow you with my whole being. Wash me LORD and keep me in your sovereign care

and get up and go about your day

the Lord's Prayer?

Give is each day our daily bread, daily

for the evil of the day is sufficient

But HIS GRACE...HIS daily BREAD?

All the more S. U. F. F. I. C. I. E. N. T

You are healed. There are many who look at their natural "healthy" condition but do not understand that spiritually, they are ill

in your natural state, you may appear to be unwell to these, but spiritually, you are whole

They can't see where GOD sees

Physician heal thyself?

They don't know that they need THE PHYSICIAN because they don't know that they are unwell
