How would you define “freedom”? I think I would define it like this:

Freedom means to be free of recrimination. It requires two things. First, it requires the Lord’s forgiveness. We have that. Second, it requires repentance.

I see it differently, repentance... then forgiveness, (matt.3:2, matt. 4:17 mar. 1:15) then we have forgiveness... (1 john 1:9)
Freedom is the empowerment to not only overcome our own weakness in the flesh through his awesome strength but also to overcome the evil one who wishes our destruction, if we be in bondage to anything outside our Beloved Savior we are not slaves to righteousness, but are still under bondage to the flesh....which we are to be dying to daily.
Our freedom comes only in trusting obedience to the One who makes us free indeed.

The two main freedoms that come from being a follower of the LORD Jesus Christ to me are::

1) Freedom from the Bondage of works salvation religion.
2) Freedom for all fear and worry about my eternal destiny.

The Lord died for my sins long before I was born.

Freedom means that Christ has redeemed me. He alone paid the price demanded of my sin. I am free because I am His and His alone.

1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Of course Paul penned those words and you doubt his authority.

I agree He did, however this does not negate scriptures I posted.... either we go by our own opinions or we go by the text in the scriptures, and most of what I quoted are our Saviors own words.

Paul was pretty smart, but not perfect. I bow down to Jesus Christ.

I've even forgotten what we are arguing about. I think I said the Lord forgives and we repent. You said I was wrong because first we must repent and then the Lord forgives. I would agree with you that once we've joined the ballgame, we need to repent before the Lord forgives, but in the beginning, I didn't even know I was sinning.

Freedom means to be free of recrimination. It requires two things. First, it requires the Lord’s forgiveness. We have that. Second, it requires repentance.
Here is what Jesus taught...

Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Joh 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

The "free indeed" that Jesus spoke of had to do with one no longer being a "servant of sin." Thus the freedom Jesus taught was a freedom from committing sin.

Paul reiterated this teaching in saying...

Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

All very simple and powerful truth.
