Gonna start this Thread because I do not want to derail the other one currently going on. If you believe women are not allowed to be Pastors, and don't want your feelings hurt, STOP reading now!

I am fed up with the Hypocrites who PUSH this ideology on the Church. They get all puffed up and self righteous and come up with.........."well, that's what the Bible says!" Women are not to have authority over men! It's right there in the Bible!

Yup............and ain't it funny that they STOP obeying what the Bible says about women RIGHT THERE! As for what else the Bible says about women, they make all sorts of excuses as to why they do not teach, enforce those commands either. Seems their Legalistic Ideology begins and ends with women being Pastors.

So, what else does the Bible say?

1 Corinthians 14:34) Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

These puffed up hypocrites don't seem to understand this Scripture do they? Their women be speaking all the time in the Church. They talk and pray, and sing all the time.

1 Corinthians 14:35)
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

These puffed up hypocrites don't seem to understand this Scripture either. Their women actually own Bibles, and read their Bibles and some of them teach Sunday School! The Scripture is crystal clear! If the women want to learn ANYTHING, they are to ASK THEIR HUSBANDS AT HOME! Not read the Bible for themselves, much less OWN ONE! And they ARE NOT to teach are they.

1 Timothy 2:9)
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

These puffed up hypocrites don't seem to understand this Scripture either! Their women cut their hair, dye their hair all different colors, false eyelashes 'n' such, paint up their faces and lips, put on all sorts of jewelry, wear all sorts of fancy and tight fitting cloths.

Now, I know there is a small movement that keep a little tighter grip on their women. The women don't cut their hair.....wear it all up in a bun, wear long, ugly dresses, no make up or jewelry, but even these women speak and sing in Church, and own Bibles, AND READ THEM! So, they don't get a pass either.

The only people women are allowed to teach are their daughters!

Titus 2:3)
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 .) That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 .) To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

The end result is that ANY of these puffed up hypocrites who rail against women Pastors and DO NOT enforce these other directives concerning women......................

ARE HYPOCRITES!

SIDE BAR:

If you believe that women are not allowed to be Preachers, Pastors, please check your "Friends" list. If I am on it, please REMOVE me. I am completely fed up with this hypocritical ideology pushed on women and the Church!

People say the Bible speaks against women speaking and teaching in church but a simple word study shows that the accusation is based upon how you interpret the word as either "all women" or "wives"

As been shown, people have translated the exact same word as WIVES as well as women.

1 Corinthians 14:34 N-NFP GRK: Αἱ γυναῖκες ἐν ταῖς NAS: The women are to keep silent KJV: Let your women keep silence in INT: the women in the Ephesians 5:22 N-NFP GRK: Αἱ γυναῖκες τοῖς ἰδίοις NAS: Wives, [be subject] to your own KJV: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own INT: Wives to the own Why are people okay with wives in some verses but when the same word is used....well it's got to be women and NOT wives?
Probably because one is in reference to be silent in the church and other is submit to your husband. The scriptures also says for husbands to love your wives as christ love the church. As well as husbands love your wives and do not be harsh with them. So it's not like women are under dictatorship like how islam treats women.

The next would be to address. 1 Timothy 3 about bishops and deacons. If there were deaconess in the New Testament?

People often say women can't be bishops/elders/pastors because they can't be "husband of one wife". I ask why are single men allowed to be elders?

According to that reasoning they would not. However, we know that Paul was not married, but he ministered.

Therefore the requirements are to prevent men who have multiple wives from assuming leadership of the church, not that they have to be men married to one wife. Thus the objection that women aren't able to be "husband to one wife" doesn't have any grounds if people apply their reasoning constantly.

Are you talking about Corinthians? It also says ask your husband to teach you what it means at home,so that definitely refers to Wives only. Further those wives were asking questions and needed instruction, not women who were teaching or preaching.

Women do teach and preach. Its in the Bible that women teach at the very least other women.

Anna the prophetess proclaimed Jesus as Messiah to everyone at the Temple.

Which shows that prophetess aren't shut up outside the congregation, and thus we have women speaking in the church.

Though some will reject even that truth to hold to their beloved doctrine.

Everyone is able to spread/teach the gospel to others. But as far as the authority of "pastor" the scriptures says that's reserved to men.

I know that women are allowed to spread/teach the gospel.

I still don't know what duties of pastor women aren't allowed to do.

I know what women can do: preach, prophecies, evangelize, teach (at least women and children), adminstrative duties, helps, visitations, etc.

What is left of the pastoral duties that women are forbidden from?

Spiritual authority over men?

I would state MEN are forbidden that to and spiritual authority should be God's alone.

Interesting read...Since few will read it and just argue back I'll post some of the points.

Can you imagine the person under water looking at the line and saying something like, “Man, I can’t have that black guy save me!” or “I can’t have a woman save me!”?
Absurd, right? And can you imagine if someone on the shore refused to link arms with people because they weren’t the right age, color, shape, religious belief or gender? Again, absurd. Because then there’d be a gap in the line, and that gap may very well be where the person lay under water—dying.
Figuratively speaking, a whole lot of people have sunk under the water, dying little deaths and big deaths all over the place. There are people outside and inside our churches drowning. Those people can’t afford for us Christians to stand on the shore fighting or dredging the lake with gaps in the line because we’re too busy arguing over who gets to do what.

Woman was created to be man’s warrior partner against evil. Pointing again to Genesis 2:18, our Creator said, “It is not good for man to be alone. I will make him a suitable helper (ezer kenego).”
The common, patriarchal, interpretation is that man leads and woman supports his leadership in an assistant role. A more complex story emerges, however, when we consider, rather than the modern interpretation of “helper,” the word ezer as it is used in the Old Testament. Ezer is used 20 times in the Old Testament, most often to reference God, and frequently to reference warriors and battle. Some prime examples of this can be found in:
Deuteronomy 33:29 (shield, helper, glorious sword)
Psalm 70:5 (provider, deliverer)
Psalm 89:19 (strength of a warrior)
Psalm 121:1 (protection)

These images challenge the common caricature of the ideal biblical woman as sweet, pure and receptive. For, words such as protect, provide, warrior, and strength are military terms.

In a culture where women were forbidden to study the Torah, Jesus invited them to “sit at His feet.” (Luke 10:38-42). In a culture where women’s work was entirely confined to the home, Jesus invited women to travel as ministers (Luke 8:1-3). In a culture where women were considered unreliable, Jesus invited them to witness (to men) the epic event of the resurrection.
Theologians. Ministers. Preachers. Culture might limit women leaders, but Jesus’ Kingdom is not of this world—in Jesus’ world, women lead. Jesus’ very purpose was to redeem, restore and renew what was lost in the fall.

Paul’s apparently restrictive passages regarding women must be considered within the meta-narrative of the Garden and Gospel narratives highlighted above, as well as Paul’s own life example.
Paul frequently worked alongside women serving in leadership roles. There were Euodia and Syntyche, Lydia, Phoebe (who likely was the courier of the Roman epistle and the first to interpret it to her listeners), Priscilla, Chloe and Junia, to mention a few. These women were leaders, preachers, apostles and deacons.
So why the current focus on a few restrictive texts, namely 1 Timothy 2:12, which says, “Women should learn quietly and submissively. I do not let women teach men or have authority over them” and 1 Corinthians 14:34, which says, “Women should be silent during the church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak.”
In the words of Sesame Street, “one of these things just doesn’t belong” with the others. In light of the example he lived, I think we should view Paul’s prohibitive texts as contextual, rather than continual, a chapter in the book, not the whole story.

Attacking other human beings for reprieved personality faults does not make one iota of difference to what the Word of God says about the Matter...

Oh and flinging mud everywhere means that you will be falsely accusing some people, guaranteed...

Well I hope I don't cause any more feeling to be hurt but isn't our first responsibility to the word of God and not our feelings?

If God is to bless the church as in the local assembly ought not that group of believers submit themselves to the word of God?

Some have a vested interest or personal bias regarding women pastors and that's fair. I only want to know how we can expect God to do His perfect work in us if we disobey or disrespect His word? It has been my experience that God will give you what you want but you may give up His blessing in the course of getting what you want over what God desires for you.

Not my will but Thy will be done.

Well as God says in Isaiah 55:8 - "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. So if anyone is offended by the scriptures they really should take it to the father and not show contempt towards brothers and sisters

Funny thing it IS in the Bible, so it seems you have problems.

Yup............and ain't it funny that they STOP obeying what the Bible says about women RIGHT THERE!
Do they?

As for what else the Bible says about women, they make all sorts of excuses as to why they do not teach, enforce those commands either. Seems their Legalistic Ideology begins and ends with women being Pastors.
Which is it. Women being pastors or women having authority over men? A real difference

So, what else does the Bible say?

1 Corinthians 14:34) Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

nothing worse than chattering women?

These puffed up hypocrites don't seem to understand this Scripture do they? Their women be speaking all the time in the Church. They talk and pray, and sing all the time.
But not chatter to each other and continually asking questions so as to disrupt the service?

(1 Corinthians 14:35)
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Chattering and questioning, oh my!

Well they didn't each have Bibles in those days (too expensive), but they are to teach other women and children (Titus 2.4; 1 Timothy 2:9).

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

A good principle.

These puffed up hypocrites don't seem to understand this Scripture either! Their women cut their hair, dye their hair all different colors, false eyelashes 'n' such, paint up their faces and lips, put on all sorts of jewelry, wear all sorts of fancy and tight fitting cloths.
well my wife didn't :) maybe I chose wisely :)

Now, I know there is a small movement that keep a little tighter grip on their women. The women don't cut their hair.....wear it all up in a bun, wear long, ugly dresses, no make up or jewelry, but even these women speak and sing in Church, and own Bibles, AND READ THEM! They don't (or shouldn't) chatter. Nothing about whether they should read the Bible. YOU MADE THAT UP.

The only people women are allowed to teach are their daughters!
A good principle.

Titus 2:3)
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

I don't actually hold that view but believe me I wouldn't want you on my friends list.

Just a few things you've overlooked. "Adam was not deceived, but the woman was' (1 Tim 2.13-14). 'The head of the woman is the man' (1 Cor 11.3). These are factors which we have no right to, overlook :) Or had Paul no right to push then on the church?

That's the thing. I want people to be logical and look at the Bible and what it says and not what people read into it.

I admit I can see how it can be read both ways. That being the case we look at the whole Bible and use logic to decide which fits the rest of the Bible better.

Not the world. Not man made traditions.

The Bible alone. What does it tell us?

There is a difference between Rabbi and pastor/bishop.

However many people would prefer the title Rabbi and the authority that goes with it.

1 Corinthians 14:34 N-NFP
GRK: Αἱ γυναῖκες ἐν ταῖς
NAS: The women are to keep silent
KJV: Let your women keep silence in
INT: the women in the

Ephesians 5:22 N-NFP
GRK: Αἱ γυναῖκες τοῖς ἰδίοις
NAS: Wives, [be subject] to your own
KJV: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own
INT: Wives to the own

Why are people okay with wives in some verses but when the same word is used....well it's got to be women and NOT wives?
Because the word can mean both. Like many other Greek words. For example "aion" can mean "age" or "world" and a translator must decide.

Pastors are a gift from God to the church.

Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Men ought not to appoint themselves as pastors but allow God to call them and anoint them to the ministry. Many have a good heart and sincerely desire to serve the Lord but God knows who He has anointed to the ministry of His word and care of His flock.

Yes we go to the Word of God. But there is also major bias against women being pastors. I dont argue this with people in my real life. People can decide what they believe. I do not believe Paul was saying women could not speak, nor preach, but thats me. What we do have to be careful of,men,is that we dont treat women in the same way that Islam does. A women is to be silent,a woman has to submit to anything her husband desires,a woman is only good for birthing and cleaning the house. Women have been in ministry down through the years and have been mightily used of God. Catherine Booth is one example. Jesus said to go into all the world and share the Gospel.

We have people lost and looking for God,are we to wait for a man to share the Gospel with them? Because I see a whole lot of people talking, but not a lot of action. I traveled for 20yrs in all denominations, want to know what I noticed, particularly in Baptist churches? Women attending services, bringing their children on their own. Where are the husbands?! I saw this trend in many many churches. So I hear a lot of talk about how men should be the only leaders, but I dont see the men in churches. Who is to lead if they refuse to attend?! I saw so many of these women faithfully attending every week and husbands sitting at home with their feet up. My father is still in ministry and a few months ago at one of his services a friend of his managed to bring her husband to his concert where he was saved and now, finally after years,he is attending church with his wife. So lets be real about this situation folks. When you have to bring in tvs to get men to attend church so they wont miss the Superbowl,we've got a big problem with male leadership and it isn't the women/female preachers at fault. The church is dead and dying while we argue about who is entitled to reach the lost. We are told to go,but we dont, most dont even attend a weekly service let alone go into ministry. So here's my take and folk wont like it but thats never stopped me before. If you dont attend a weekly church service, just like not voting in an election, you dont get to say what happens in the church. And if you're not willing to get your hands dirty and be in ministry you dont get to forbid women from stepping up and doing the job you aren't doing. A lot of talk but no action. And in these last days it ought to be more action and less talk.
