Cain is the first human to be born physically, for Adam and Eve were created without parents, although born by God in that they were created.

The man Christ Jesus is the first born of the dead.

The man Christ Jesus could of not been born again, for He was sinless, and did not need to be born again.

John the baptist could not have been the first to be born again, although he received the Spirit from birth, which was not to save him,but give him power to grow up rightly, and prepare himself,to pave the way for Jesus.

John the Baptist was not saved the whole time he was on earth, for Jesus did not shed His blood yet, which is why Jesus said that born of women there has not been a greater than John the Baptist, but he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than him.

Peter was the first to be born again, for he was given the keys to the kingdom of God,and Jesus said when you are converted strengthen your brothers, and Peter was the first human to be built upon Christ, the chief cornerstone.

1Co 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Mat 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

No other foundation can be laid but Jesus Christ, and Peter is the first person added to the kingdom, and built upon Christ, and then it goes from there is order of who is born again, building upon each other like a building.

Peter is the first to be born again, for he was the first person to be added to the Church, being built upon Jesus the chief cornerstone.

Hi Rocky,

To be born again means to be born of the Spirit. Even though scripture doesn't talk about the restoration of Adam and Eve specifically, I believe there's enough to assume they were restored in a right relationship with God. So they would have to be born of the Spirit to have a righteous relationship with Him.

The reason I believe they were born of the Spirit is because they were giving sacrifices to God. At least their sons were which shows that Adam and Eve taught them to do so.

After Cain killed Abel, Sarah had another child and named him Seth.

Genesis 4: 25, 26
Adam had relations with his wife again; and she gave birth to a son, and named him Seth, for, she said, “God has appointed me another offspring in place of Abel, for Cain killed him.” To Seth, to him also a son was born; and he called his name Enosh. Then men began to call upon the name of the Lord.

Because Sarah is giving glory to God for her son, Seth, and Seth has a son Enosh and they're calling on the name of God at this time, I believe it shows there's a relationship between Adam and Eve with God and their sons and grandsons as well.

Nope... the question is, who was the first man to be "born again"

...it is Peter.
Nope, it wasn't Peter

To be born again means to be born of the Spirit
Yes, but that's how we understand it today having been spiritually dead and accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior and becoming spiritually alive.

Born again can also mean to be changed from life to death... so, Adam was actually the first man to be born again.
Just like we pass from death to life... he passed from life to death so he was born again in reverse so to speak making him the first man to be born again but opposite the way we get born again in to Christ.

He was alive unto God and he sinned and then became separated from God.... so he was born from life unto death.

We know this because the Lord told him that if he ate of that tree... he would die.

Adam live physically for over 900 years so we know the Lord was not talking about physical death which is what Adam thought satan was referring to when he lied to Adam and Eve and said they would surely not die. which was obviously a deception.

It wasn't a single man who was first born again, it was the group of believers in Act ch 2.

Why do you say this dcon?
To understand the word of God one must be born again....

DAVID in the Psalms speaks to his salvation.......Seth's lineage called upon God, EVE understood the promise in Genesis 3:15 based upon what she states concerning the birth of he first son in Hebrew etc....SAMUEL, Noah, Moses all had faith and made the 11th chapter of Hebrews......it is ridiculous to think that Peter was the first to be born again.......

Abel was born in to sin like all the rest of us and the opportunity to be born again from death unto life was not avaiable until after Jesus was raised from the dead... so it was not Abel.
Having mercy on someone does not mean they have been changed from one state to another.

It wasn't a single man who was first born again, it was the group of believers in Act ch 2.
The New Testament specifically mentions who the first man was to be born from the dead.

To understand the word of God one must be born again....
That's not necessarily true because God says man is without excuse (Romans 1:20) and it would be unjust to send unbelievers to hell had they not had opportunity to get born again so somehow the Lord will hold all men accountable meaning they would have had to have understood their option to have the opportunity to get saved.

If nobody can understand the Lord without first being born again, then nobody would have ever gotten born again.

This remind me of James 1:5 where it is stated that the Lord will share His Wisdom without finding fault.

If our faults were to prevent the Lord from sharing His wisdom with us, then we would all be lost.

The Lord is in the saving business so He WANTS to share His wisdom and knowledge with us... and yes after we get saved and filled with the Holy Ghost with the ability for the Spirit of God to pray thru us then we can really learn some stuff.

But, one does not have to be saved to understand the basic concept of we need a Savior and salvation has been made available to all men.

God is not unjust...

Well Stephen was the first Gentile (Greek) Christian that we know about. (To be born again is to be baptized into Christ.)

Yes, as we understand it today having access to God's entire Word... but it's also being changed from one state into another state.

We know Adam was alive unto God because God warned him that if he ate of that tree he would surely die.

So, Adam was changed from life unto death.

The Word says Jesus... who knew no sin of His own, meaning He never committed any sin... was made to be sin for us and on the Cross Jesus acknowledged that the Father had forsaken Him.

So, Jesus was the first born from the dead and was the first man to be changed from death into life.... which is what hapend to us when we got born again.

We were separated from God, living in death... and we were resurrected with Christ unto life.

In response to the guy in a different thread that said Jesus only died physically:

For those that believe Jesus just died physically, there are some scriptures that must totally confound you...

Colossians 1:18
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

If Jesus just died physically... then Colossians 1:18 is a bald face LIE because Jesus raised His friend Lazarus from the dead (see John 11:1-45)... this proves that someone died physically and was raised from the dead before Jesus was.

Is that hard on yo brains? Here's another one...

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Don't argue with me, go argue with the Lord... it's His Word.

Here's another one...

Hebrews 2:9
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death??? Really, lower than the angels???

Don't argue with me, go argue with the Lord... it's His Word. Here's another one... from Jesus Himself!

Matthew 12:39,40
But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

You don't reckon Jesus would LIE about this do ya???

Some say that Jesus said on the Cross "it is finished" which is true... but then the Lord said in Romans 4:25 He was raise dfor our justification... so we were not justified until He rose from the grave

Romans 4:25
Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Ya think God lied about this verse?

What about Matthew 27:46 where on the Cross Jesus cried out "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?"

Do we understand that the Father literally forsook, turned away from Jesus because of His love for us??? So, Jesus would suffer what we would have suffered had we died in our sin???

Such a terrible price was paid for our salvation!

Lots of folks speak on this subject without looking at all the Word has to say about it...

Some say Jesus went to were the poor man went in the teaching about the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31) which was the temporary place old testament saints went until the the new birth was made available (Jesus did say NO man had seen God - John 1:18, and no man had gone to Heaven - John 3:13)

Acts 2:24
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

The teaching about the rich man and Lazarus provides insight in to both sides the side OT saints went to (Paradise which has since been moved to Heaven - see 2 Corinthians 5:8) and where those that rejected God went. The rich man was tormented while Lazurus was comforted.

Hebrews 13:11,12
For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Companion scripture:

Isaiah 53:8
By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who considered
that He was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of My people

“Cut off out of the land of the living” is being separated from Life (God) and is not being in Abraham's bosom which was the temporary location of Paradise which was necessary for the OT saints to be held there until the new birth became available. We know all OT saints went to Abraham's bosom when they died and not into the presence of God because in John 1:18 Jesus said no man had seen God.

Isaiah 53:10-12
Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul (spirit is inside the soul) an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death (separation from God): and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Numerous passages in the Psalms are considered by Bible scholars to be Jesus speaking,
as this does fit with what other scriptures say concerning Jesus' death in our behalf.

Psalms 86:13
For great is thy mercy toward Me: and thou hast delivered My soul (spirit is inside the soul) from the lowest hell.

Psalms 16:10

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
(Corruption = becoming defective in thinking, viewpoint, vision... Jesus never lost faith or knowledge of Who He was)

Exactly... Jesus was the first man to be born from death to life.

Adam was the first man to be born from life to death.
when i read the op i was gonna answer Jesus but ariel stole my answer.....i look at adam as He contracted a spiritual terminal Illness so wasnt thinking adam but i see what you are saying. Jesus was the first to Be born of the spirit not at baptism or after resurrection but

Luke 1:35 "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. "

when you said " born again oin the op i was thinking of what Jesus told nicodemus

john 3:4-5 "Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. "

2 births water and spirit. Jesus baptism was my first thought.... good question
