When you asked me what I meant, he took it that way. I would have, too. But I guess you hadn't watched the video before asking?

yes but the context of the video is disturbing and I do since offensiveness to suggesting smoking the Holy Spirit. That was wrong brother. we have to call them out on that stuff. I have seen mighty moves of the Holy Spirit and Never anything like that . My Pastor a Pentecostal Pastor too would tell them to stop. and would ask them to leave now. 1 cor 14:40

40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
I heard a leader one time say that he had been in over a thousand of these charismatic meetings before and he said that over 80% of the manifestations were just the people themselves responding in the flesh and a small amount the actual move of the Spirit.

I too believe most of these things are the people doing it themselves. I actually saw a leader one time at Bethel stop this from happening in a way that didn't embarrass the person. It was done respectfully and the person complied too

I too heard some old time Pentecostal minsters talk about people dancing in the spirit with their feet not even touching the floor. ( I have not witnessed any of this myself ) Have you ever heard of any stories like that before?

thank you for your explanation however, it was wrong how he and you would have took it . If you were more open to hearing what others think you would have more influence for God and His word with people . No one if you have not noticed or Discerned response well to insult or belittling. the difference with me is I could act on how I took huh?

that is were you and i differ God bless .

Yes sir,
but the well order and discipline is respectful and not as the world does it. If he has corrected this then amen. but what was done in the video was not right. and if some think saying that is some kind of victory then let them be. this action is no more right then teaching the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for today.

Well, when you asked me what I meant, I was thinking 1) you haven't watched the video, or 2) watched it and agreed with it. So I told you what I saw and even gave you the time frame of that goon 'smokin' weed' in the 'spirit'.

I never insulted you, and if you felt I did, please forgive me anyways.

But what I saw in that vid was not of the Spirit.

This hits a nerve for me,perhaps I shouldn't comment at all. But I feel I should warn people. Not only did I see this in my travels but I experienced this first hand when I lived in Canada. The "Toronto Blessing" came to my church. The pastor there was whole hog for it. Of course its a way to generate excitement in church. And it did.People came from miles around. I cant tell you the things I saw. There was "being drunk" as in the video where they fell all over you and on to the floor. Then there was "laughing in the spirit" so mix those together. Then there was "birthing in the spirit" where they would lay on the floor and act like they were birthing a baby. The pastor who I knew all my life, encouraged all of this. We didn't get the gold in the teeth, feathers from the rafters but we got a good dose. We were gonna have us a super church. Big shiny one like in the States. I knew that was the motivation.I sang in front of this crowd and if you've ever seen the movie "Jumangi" that would about explain it. One side of the church looked like they had lost their flippin minds and the other side,my side, sat in stunned silence looking at the mayhem taking over the church. It looked quite funny, looking down at the two sides. Funny except for the fact that my aunt had taken stomach cancer, she had to have her stomach removed and then another sweet sister in the church took cancer at the same time. So while the church was trying to pray and believe as my aunt fell more ill this nonsense swirled on around us. My aunt fell more and more ill and she was at the point of deaths door. And every Sunday we had to face a literal zoo of people falling on top of each other, line dancing, birthing while my aunt was dying. She died at the age of 43. While these morons were laughing their brains out and dancing like we were in a nightclub getting their blessings my aunt was dying and another saint struggled for her life. There were no prayers, encouragement just one big ol' party every Sunday. One lady said laughing her butt of that she "wasn't even saved" To say we were outraged is an understatement. Please dont tell me these buffoons are in the "spirit" trust me,they are not!! That pastor left,we helped him along, and all the "spirit" left with him. He went to a church on another part of the country and every one of these people left. None of them stayed.I wonder why? As someone who has faced this foolishness, this "spirit" is not from the Lord. Not even close. When you are so out of your head that you scare Pentecostals there's somethin wrong with you!!

hey I was not talking to you was I? my comments were to someone else . You chose to interject yourself to defend another which I think is very noble for you. No I did not watch the video and this is a long thread. The point I am making is how some prejudge another and assume.
we can disagree but some like to insult . So i'm a pithy kind of guy; fair ! I never said you insulted me you and i are talking because you said you would have taken what another had said the same way.

FYI I think my statements have been very clear . And I hold no grudge . If I did you would have known.

God Bless :)

Thanks for sharing this experience, and I'm sorry you and your aunt had to go through the spiritual abuse at the hands of people like this.

I'm not walking on eggshells for you or anyone else and won't be bullied. I've apologized once and that is enough. You say you don't hold grudges, then offer a verse to call me ignorant. Remarkable.

Ignorant seems to me would be making a comment about a video you haven't even watched and getting defensive when misunderstood in your response

Exactly because that's what it is. It is highly doubtful one even knows the definition of "pithy". It's not of a negative connotation so there is some ignorance as to its usage.

He asked me what I meant and I was thinking...has he watched it and agreed with it, or had not watched it? Brother P4T was shocked, thinking CS1 had watched the vid and agreed with it. Or that's what I think Brother P4T had thought. So, if I thought CS1 had watched it, I would be questioning his discernment level, too.

I apologized immediately and have been called names and bullied since.

Same for me, I wasn't sure. I thought he had agreed too.

Well, I am a cessationist and if tongues are for today, why have a class teaching it?

There is an SDA church a ways down the road and it says on the building "A 10 commandment keeping church." I take it Jesus didn't have to die for them, they're all good.

And, they have a yard sign now that says "Prophecy Class" with an arrow pointing to the building.

That's sad, any prophet would have already known where the class was being held so they need to rid the sign. ;)

Honestly, I am not against all Pentecostals since I think the Gospel does get preached in some of their churches (very few IMO), but I think the tongues they practice is in error and God would call them to repent. My biggest issue with them beyond tongues is their history and the fact that their movement gave birth to the chaos we are seeing in this video.

Edit: wording.

The reality is the Christ kept them for us, and because He did, that, along with His living a sinless life, and His righteousness and holiness has been imputed to us.

And, they have a yard sign now that says "Prophecy Class" with an arrow pointing to the building.
The prophet told them where to place the sign I guess.

That's sad, any prophet would have already known where the class was being held so they need to rid the sign. ;)
Balaam?
