Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

The acts of the flesh are obvious:
sexual immorality
impurity
debauchery
idolatry
witchcraft
hatred
discord
jealousy
fits of rage
selfish ambition
dissensions
factions
envy
drunkenness
orgies
...and the like.

I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

and the greedy lol :) yes there are many actions that christians cant afford to follow after, thats a certain part of the doctrine of Christianity and something that needs to be taken in, along side the great mercy and forgiveness we have access to in Christ, and the repentance that has been granted to us from those things, by the Lord. definately a good post that should be readily accepted with everything else, that we become mature as we accept the truth. God bless you !

If we live by the Spirit, this is what we'll show:
love
joy
peace
patience
kindness
goodness
faithfulness
gentleness
self-control

Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Refer to Galatians 5

Yes! It's a, "take up your cross and follow Me", daily thing. It's a, "die to yourself", so you will, "live in Christ Jesus"! =D

amen and when a day where we stumble from the wieght and fall, were not lost, we just need Jesus to cry out like peter " Lord save me" when were sinking. PRAYER is such a powerful and effective tool when it comes to spiritual battle against our flesh. I know many who pray for a better Job, better house, solutions to our daily problems or needs. but to pray for the spiritual power to walk upright before the Lord, is really extremely powerful stuff to change the things we cant in ourselves.

Absolutely! To lay urself on the alter and say, "Here I am, Lord, take your double edge sword and separate the bone from the morrow", hurts. Killing that flesh off can be painful! Oh, but how sweet it is when we do so. This is something I've been putting into practice lately. And MAN! I'm seeing things in a different light now. WOW! Just, WOW! God is amazing!

amen dear sister, when we just truly submit to the Lord, according to His words and not our own imaginations, that word is all the power to change us from within and renew our minds from the deception inherited from adam. the truth truly sets us free.

He is so amazing and liberating from chaoins we never even Knew were binding us !! press on in the things of God !!!

Oh, hey, don't be sorry. That's good stuff right there! And, YES! It's all started with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, the renewing of our mind, which we know starts out by grace through faith, and this not of ourselves. It is the gift of God so no one can boast. Praise God!

I take that to mean that if the spirit of God lives in a person then they are in the realm of the spirit and those that the spirit doesn't live in are in the flesh realm... in other words ALL saved people walk in the spirit and unsaved people walk in the flesh.

I read somewhere that the saints warned that giving in to the temptations of the flesh would be our downfall,it looks like they were right,go figure.
